I can relate to you as a fellow Arabian(aisan). When I look at famous successful people, I find that they were not merely hard workers. If the world truly appreciated hard work above all else, then construction workers would be among the highest paid - but they are in fact often among the lowest paid, despite their difficult labor. Simply working hard is not what leads to success. What really matters is working smart, with direction, focus, effectiveness and efficiency. Success comes from having realistic expectations and flexible, adaptable plans that prioritize maximizing outcomes from one's efforts. A perfect example is what happened to a factory machine once. The machine was designed to run for 4 days a week. However, when a new inept engineer took over the project, he decided to have the machine work for longer hours each day. Eventually, the machine broke down because it was pushed beyond its intended operating capacity. The lesson here is that success depends not on endless toiling, but on carefully directed effort applied strategically over time. Outcomes result from working in harmony with realistic limitations and changing conditions, not defiance of them. Hard work alone means little without focus, strategy, innovation and efficiency. That is the type of "smart work" that leads to meaningful rewards and enduring achievement.
In society ( not in schools) depens a lot on your environment, if you are surrended by people that value more cronyism than effort!!
I feel you bro, in my last 12th grade chemistry exam, I studied a lot, more than I ever have in High School, but in the end I still failed and somehow my friend who studied less than me passed. I don't know man, after that I felt like everything is pointless, I felt like I could never change, even though I tried my best. Its sucks honestly but it is what it is I guess
I gave up my social media addition, not even using WhatsApp not even drawing or doing the things that once i fascinated all about. I really worked hard to get high marks,my results aren't out yet but that will also make no effect as my parents cant afford the high schooling fees in my city, i have to go clg but i can't even study maths with the other subjects that i have , i really love maths 🙃 while ppl who didn't even put that much of effort and literally enjoyed their life are getting the kind of schooling i wish i could have , i am not jealous of them but i don't know how to accept this truth 🫠 hardwork doesn't really always pays off
You deserve to be famous, for your work
I appreciate it
You really you don't get it what it mean hard work always pays off bro ,work hard mean displine of anything you do
If that's how you view it, you aren't off. But there are times when you hit a wall, and this is what happened. Discipline is important, but there must be a reason for discipline no?
@@edisonzhao5 I know bro I feel you ,and I'm not trying to be a** with you when I said that but Blv me the reason of discipline is to be btr then the day before,I speak for my self always when I put the effort it's always pays off,it's just must be smart how to put this effort not be like a bull head down and go to the wall 🧱, when I'm try to say is even with discipline you must give you self days off to start at new and you body as you said in yr vds don't go down ,,, I hope for you all the best
@@ingodwetrust3578 Yeah, I agree. All the best to you too!
We miss you dude
I am sorry this is great and all but how can one deal with having no social skills? Like for real
I understand where you're coming from but the goal I had in mind wasn't to say that one should just be by themselves and not interact with the world. Rather, I wanted to show people how it can also be nice to spend time by yourself from time to time, and that it could a nice change of pace in this busy world.
It is true. This is what life is. Life is not 2+2=4. Sometimes 0, sometimes 10. At this point we can see that work is just a key, but we don't know whether the doors will open or not.
Exactly!
This really help me alot. Thank you very much ❤
No problem. I hope things are going well :)
@@edisonzhao5 actually I have always been alone and you know what, it didn't bother me. I'm really great full to my god. Thanks again for making such videos. And yh things are pretty well.
It's ridiculous but it is what it is. Reality dumped us. The biggest bullshit is "hard work never betray". It sounds good for celebrate but that's just a load of bullshit.
TH-cam thinks you are the “next generation of vloggers”
I was surprised too lol
Not when they cheat!!!
Great video man. I worked ma ass off 4 my Abitur (final secondary-school examinations) gave up electronic devices for months and planned my daily routine down to the smallest detail, only for me to not be able to do it in the end
I know that feeling my friend… All we can do is to keep walking forward, you got this!

Hey man, great video. I don't know how to ask this without sounding weird, but do you have an Instagram. I am an aspiring creator trying to connect with other creators to brainstorm and to talk about TH-cam. If not, no worries, great video.
Man change is such a bittersweet thing and I feel like it hurts more during that stage where you know there’s going to be a big change in your life and your just waiting for it as you bid farewell to everything you knew.
That's right, it really is bittersweet
998th subscriber. Nice content and I just started making contents that are kinda like this and made my first upload recently, I guess it’s the reason why I see more contents like this. Being alone is something I also grew up with, the beauty of finding out how to entertain yourself with no toys or tech. Till today, I don’t get bored being alone. This was a beautiful to watch ❤
I worked so hard to achieve my dreams and I just got chronically sick. What king Solomon said is so true "everything is meaningless."
Hey, I don't know what you went through or what you were working for but sometimes things happen. Nobody lives a perfect life, perfection doesn't exist in this world. However, it's our perspective that truly matters. I know you are down in the slumps right now but try to look at things in a brighter way, even just a little. That absurdism way of thinking won't get you anywhere. I hope you feel better soon.
As an adult, I now find the "Hard work pays off" cliche well intentioned but still total BS at times.
That literally what I did and what happened to me so I fell it so bad 😭😭😭
Things'll get better, I'm living proof of that :)
@edisonzhao5 I hope so but I am not going to abound my self to study again ever
@@djihane8514 Studying and learning is good, but don't let it be the sole reason forward. I hope you feel better soon!
@edisonzhao5 I hope so bro .i just need time to organize my self and return better
Being alone is quite peaceful. I agree. :)
I literally gave my blood, sweat and tears for this exam.I studied nonstop for 10 months,I abandoned myself completely,In these 10 months I only went to college and home and all the time I was studying, and I feel guilty for even sleeping for 3hours in night.I did my exams perfect and I was expecting very good grades but unfortunately my all these sacrifices and hardwork didn't paid off. Some of my class fellows who didn't even have books whole year got good grades than me and I was broken as hell and l am still suffering.I think this world isnt made for hardworking people, cheaters and this corrupt system of education will always win 😢
I can understand your frustration, but can I tell you something? You worked hard, but sometimes that goal isn't the one for you. We all have our timelines, maybe the others found gold in 10 steps but for you it will be in 1 000 000 steps. Much like how Obama retired at 40 while Trump started at 70. I've learned that comparing yourself to others will only end up destroying yourself. As hard as it may be, my friend, please let all the negativity out and look ahead. I've been there. I've felt it... If you need someone to talk to, I can lend you an ear :)
“Men who suffer not, attain no perfection. The plant most pruned by the gardeners is that one which, when the summer comes, will have the most beautiful blossoms and the most abundant fruit. The laborer cuts up the earth with his plough, and from that earth comes the rich and plentiful harvest. The more a man is chastened, the greater is the harvest of spiritual virtues shown forth by him.” You're determination has really resonated with me. I don't consider myself a hard-worker, and seeing the amount of discipline that you have, I see you as a successful person.
We all have our own timeline and being hardworking can be very ambiguous. I have certainly learned many things from this experience and I am glad that this message reached you. Thanks for stopping by.
I have a joging hose on from that brand "champion" . the print is now completely gone. the trousers are like 10years old XD. Its blue, too.
Haha that caught me off guard... ok 😅
03:54 is a description of the capitalist system, sure it keeps people from poverty but it creates a lot of social disarray. Those that do 'make it' have survivorship bias because they did work hard and they did make it, so they think that others can just do the same which is obviously not true. One of the aspects of happiness that people don't think about is that those who earn more money than others are only happy because they are relatively better off than the rest of the population. At the moment it's like we're all being asked to play a game of Monopoly but the other players already own all of the properties and have 1000x the money you have, I think this is why people are turning against the game because the odds of winning are getting slimmer by the day. So now we have a population of people fighting to go from the wrong side of unfairness to the right side of unfairness which is depressing. Here's hoping you can carve a path for yourself that doesn't involve your happiness being drained out of you every day you get out of bed, I hope things are getting better for you.
Things have definitely gotten much better. Despite living in a world that is unfair, I think that there are still things that we can look forward to, at least, not related to the success. And when we are too focused on achieving something, we lose sight of those important things around us, which I think are much more important than trying to win over a person with 1000x your money...
What camera do you use?
I use both my iphone 11 and my nikon z fc
Really great work man👍
Thank you so much for the video, Edison. You inspired me.
Love the video man, great work.
Months of relentless study and sacrifice led to high hopes for success in year 12 exams, but despite hard work, the outcome was disappointing, highlighting that hard work doesn't always guarantee success in a competitive and unforgiving world.
At the very least, this hard work paid off in that I learned an important lesson.
But hard work *does* pay off .. it pays off bills until you have nothing left for yourself except a few packs of ramen and a fake loaf of bread
It’s a sad reality. At that point it’s all about perspective. What are you working for and is the path that you are walking a correct one? No, idk what you’ve gone through, but if it is something like my experience, I can tell you that things will get better. 😁
Wow wow and wow! You are incredibly talented! I loved the shot from inside the coffee can, very creative! Thank you for this important reminder! 🙏🏼
Thanks! I appreciate it! I kinda had to improvise a bit on that shot. I actually just used a empty toilet roll (the brown cardboard thingy in the middle) and put plastic film under and placed it over my lens. This is a secret between you and me okay😁
Thanks for this video! This is what I needed to hear right now.
Lad, screw the study's, film making is your calling.
this is a really nice and comforting video. I really enjoyed the storytelling and message and it definitely resonated with me. Really well done :)
It's so good ❤keep going on 😊
yup I did during university and regreted it at the end
What did u major in?
Perhaps life finds miraculous ways to screw us. I remember being the best version of myself and trying my hardest, but not getting what I believed I deserved in the end. As of now, I'm not even half the man I used to be brother. I understand how you feel, hopefully things get better. For all of us
Ofc. Even though I don't know what you've gone through, just know that this is all part of a process. Maybe we were walking in the wrong path all along, you never know. Anyways, sometimes being half a man opens up opportunities that you might not have as a full man. Stay strong. 😎
@@edisonzhao5 I appreciate the words my friend. Here's to a better future!

I agree, but its got its perks and setbacks.
(((hug))) "failure" is a cruel motivator, you are awesome!!
beautiful!! a year from now i'll leave too so this kinda speaks to me, but you put it into words so perfectly and the cinematography is amazing! i wish you the best for this new chapter of your life :)
Thanks! Cherish these moments before your journey and create memories for yourself, in your own way. 👊
It's essential to work smartly, adapt to changing circumstances, and continuously learn and grow. Additionally, setting realistic goals and having a well-thought-out plan can significantly increase the likelihood of achieving success.

Thx my brother 🙏
A little story I like a lot came to mind watching your video. It's not mine, though I think it's fitting regarding the topic of "solely working hard". --- Once upon a time there was a lumberjack, who sought out a job at a lumber-mill. The pay was decent, the working conditions were compelling, so the lumberjack wanted to leave a good impression. On the first day he went to his supervisor who gave him an axe, and he was assigned a forest area. Enthusiastically he went to work. In just one day he logged eighteen trees! "Congratulations", said his superior. "Keep it up!" Motivated by the encouragement the lumberjack decided to even surpass his results for the next day. So he went to bed extra early that night. The next morning he was up before anyone else, and went straight into the forest. Despite his best efforts he did not manage more than fifteen. "I must be tired", he thought for himself. So he decided to go to bed straight after sundown. In the morning dawn he woke up with the firm resolution, to most definitely surpass his achievement of eighteen trees. He didn't even manage half the amount. The next day it was seven trees, the day after five, and the last day he spent almost entirely logging a second tree. Deeply concerned of what his supervisor would think of him, he came forward and explained what had happened, and promised faithfully he had been toiling away relentlessly every single day. His superior asked him: "Wenn have you sharpened your axe last?" "Sharpened my axe? For that I didn't have any time, I've been too busy chopping trees!" --- Your dedication & ambitions are admirable, definitely a strong trait of yours to pull off working this hard. So don't be too harsh on yourself, as failures are a part of life, so don't beat yourself up on top of it! Easier said then done, and I also understand your frustrations, still, as a reminder ;) And if I may finish with a personal story of mine, I was working towards my deadlines at uni, if I failed them I wouldn't be able to continue my studies. Too much pressure honestly, rather unpleasant. I had like 10 days left until then, though I wasn't where I wanted to be (obviously). BUT, applying the idea of taking a break, I took an entire day off for myself as I felt I needed it. No computer, no phone. Went outside, met a friend for coffee, spent few hours in a park by myself, and even went to a small concert in the evening. Just few things I enjoy. Ofc, a part of me was thinking "I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!", though once I was outside, took time, and started recharging that voice was long gone already. And then the following days everything went much smoother, and my progress was much better again :) Anyways, probs bit much, main thing was the story that came to mind. We need to sharpen our tools too, every once in a while ;)
Not at all! This story was very interesting and eye opening for me. I never thought about it that way. Thanks for sharing 🤗
Hey, This video is so true and just states the straight up fact of it. I know I am late to the video but I hope you're doing alright. Don't forget that although it helps to have these grades, it is not what defines you. For example, one of my teachers said that many of her friends did terrible on final year exam although later in life they worked hard with other things and those final year 12 grades aren't the only thing that allows you into diffrent things (although heloful) because lots of her friends who did terrible are now lawyers. This is not to say don't work hard but I hope fellow people understand what I am trying to say.
I am feeling much better now. I'm starting to see the things that you've mentioned and even though I think about this experience from time to time, it really doesn't impact me and my daily life at all. Hard work is necessary, but nothing is guaranteed. That's how life is. Either way, thanks for stopping by 😁
love the vids man i was wondering how do you come up with video ideas and the script?
First of all, thx! As for the ideas, I really try to look for things in my life that have greatly impacted me or that I am passionate about. It really has to be something that is important to me, either now, or always have been. And for the script, I would say that once you got that idea that is deeply related to your life, the script will kinda write itself. No kidding, it will flow naturally and that's when the most authentic version of yourself shows itself. This process certainly takes more time and thinking, but trust me, the results are much more genuine and the audience will actually be able to connect to you on a personal level.
Yo bro hard work does always paid off in the long run. May be not today or near future, but knowing having it done best on your terms is what it counts. School isn't everything in life, but school does teach you a lot of things at least in patience and responsibility. Don't give up just yet! Cheers! Be happy, you will get where you want to be one day!
Yeah, the lessons that’s I’ve learned from this experience is even more valuable than getting a grade. Although I would’ve thrown hands if u told me that back then lol 😂
