Philippe Durant’s landscape photography : Ep2 Around the globe
This is the last video of a long series featuring different aspects of my photographic works over the years. Each last only 4 minutes and focus on a specific topic and style. I hope that you are enjoying watching them. All of them are on youtube @moments_by_annies_and_philippe. Check them out and subscribe to our channel
In the realm of landscape photography, one reveals the diverse spaces within our world, from vast, endless horizons to the intricate details of the microscopic. These images not only showcase nature's beauty but also capture the human influence on the land. For many, this art form is a pursuit of aesthetic pleasure, but for me, it also serves as a record of a world in rapid transformation.
Through the lens, landscapes become more than mere scenes; they evolve into stories, inviting viewers to step into the frame. Whether capturing the grandeur of sweeping vistas or the delicate details of a flowing river, this collection of images is a testament to my connection with the natural splendor of the many places I’ve had the fortune to explore across 16 countries. In each photograph, I aimed to distill the very essence of the environment that surrounded me at that moment.

Philippe Durant’s landscape photography : Ep1 Malaysia
มุมมอง 1919 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
In the realm of landscape photography, one unveils the spaces within our world, where vast horizons stretch endlessly, or the minute intricacies of the microscopic. These images not only reveal nature's presence but also the mark of human touch upon the land. For many, this art is a pursuit of beauty, but for me on top of that, it is also a record of a world in swift transformation. Through the...
Philippe Durant’s Monochrome photography: Ep 5 Penang Shores Moods

I first arrived on Penang Island in July 2013, and though the thick haze that cloaked the area at the time might have obscured the view, it couldn’t diminish my fascination with the island’s diverse coastal landscapes-from the Clan Jetties in the south to the serene northern beaches. Over the past eleven years, I have dedicated some of my photography works to capturing the essence of this “Pear...

My first encounter with streets Chinese Opera was in Penang Island on Lorong Seck Chuan during the 2013 Hungry Ghosts Month. A Thai troupe gave a few shows. A local told me that it was not meant to be for humans but for the ancestors back on earth...

George Town, the leading port of Malaysia, is located on a triangular promontory in the northeastern part of Penang Island. Its protected harbor is separated from the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia by a 3-mile (5-km) channel, which international shipping uses to navigate north and avoid the shallow southern route. Before British colonization, the area was known as Tanjung Penaga, named after...

Heritage status has changed my hometown Melaka into an ugly arty farty town. Age old family houses covered with naive murals people like to call art. Trendy cafes pretending to be hip. Noisy rickshaws and scam river cruises. The natural River has been turned into a big longkang. When l returned from abroad in the nineties it was still in its natural state. A bit run down but pleasant enough to the eye. With UNESCO status came the invasion of the so called creative people.l sincerely hope Papan does not go down this road of fake artistic innovation. I

Due to inflation, prices has gone up to be rm 10 to rm 12. Used to be rm 5 to rm 7. We hv no choice but to balance our meal with vege and proteins. So despite the price increase we take economy rice especially those working class folks. We are not rich as eating in a restaurant is expensive.
