@lymitutit3046 hi, this video is quite old and prices of energy have shot up since. But monitoring the wattage and considering that the pond set up has changed recently (no shower, no tempest, no protein skimmer), currently on the pond I spend £38 a month. That is for two pumps, 1 air pump and one air pump used only to boil the eazypod, two UV (1x25 watts and 1x18watts) which I switch off in winter.

@niccoc1603 hi, firstly, can I ask, did you use Lernex or Lernex Pro? Flashing after a treatment is a normal reaction and the parasites are getting attacked therefore moving and irritating the fish even more. Did the fish have Gill flukes or skin flukes? You definitely have used the correct dosage for your pond?

Hi thank you, I used Lernex , diagnose was for gill flukes, dosage as recommended (320g for 8000l). I am just surprised they are so actively flashing four days into the treatment, definitely more than before the treatment.

@niccoc1603 Gill flukes are the worst of the two flukes as they lay eggs. So you will need two doses. First one to 'eradicate' the adults, second one to kill the newly hatched flukes. It's difficult to know exactly what is going on in your pond. And I am not familiar with the use of Lernex. But after 4 days, it should be calming down. So unsure what to say on that one..

Hi, it depends what you are trying to achieve and what kind of water you have or filtration you have. But there are 2 methods, either daily with 2g per 1000 litres of water, or weekly (use it in the evening) with 12g per 1000 litres. No need to turn UV off. You can use it with salt but not treatments. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your message. Two independent filters in order to have a better flow rate. You can only pull max of 6000 litre per hours via an eazypod. With this system, I can pull 9000 litres an hour.

Hi again. This is a 3 year old video and pretty much stopped doing videos 6 months ago. I am not a newbie in the world of Koi 😀 I would suggest you look at may be the last few videos and you will see what was achieved with this system, although some parts of the filtration is not always shown or explained in the videos. The eazypod cannot be a lone mechanical filter due to the feeding regime. Also it's quite common in pump fed system to have two mechanical filtration. The benefit for me at the time was to run it on one pump only and the pump outside the pond.

Hi, you just need to fill in the part from above the sleepers (nearest to the pump) with water. Reconnect your pipe and turn the pump on. After that, if it always work. Even if you disconnect your pipes to clean your retro bottom drain, that pipe near the pump will always be full of water so you will never have to prime again.

Hi, pipe is 75mm. That's the medium size skimmer. They have 3 sizes pipe: 50, 75 and 110 mm.

Aragoke kumonryu?? Technically impossible as kumonryu are fully doitsu so I think it's more of a made-up name when people mix a bit of everything. Large scaled hajiro for sure, quite common especially from Kanno farm. This one is fully scaled to the belly line.

Hi, it's a 2 inch on the collar to be able to go over the UV inlet and outlet but to be fair, it looks more like a 1.5 inch inside.

@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection thanks for reply what it is my uv keeps leaking using washer and hosetail I'm wondering if i use solid pipe then use a rubber boot over both would b it solve the issue no matter what i do the uv leaks if you tighten the hosetail too much it leaks but if its too loose it leaks no great for a expensive product.

@canonlensesandcameras4425 ah I see. Yeah not ideal. Are the horsetail the original from EA? If they are not the original EA, that would explain why as the EA screwing system are slightly different. I didn't use them as I wanted to stay on the inch pressure pipe.

I have polycarbonate covers over the bond but even though I live in the SE, we get a cold winter wind off the North Sea and of course, I want to see my koi in wanted too 👍

Hi, yes totally healed thank you. Healed very quickly then had to clean it again. Now she has like a small mark, so she wouldnt make it to a show anymore but I am glad it didn't get any bigger.

And yes, absolutely, things work by themselves in my head, generally during the night, and in the morning I just do 😀 The multibay is working perfectly. There has been some changes of media and improvement made along the way. It's an old fashion filter system, but still so widely used everywhere in the world. After all, the new nexus are just a multibay wrapped around itself. Thank you for watching the early videos.

Hi, that's good to hear about your cleaning method. My biggest problem is that the gap between the top of the eazypod and the ceiling of the filter house is not very big. But I now just spray the inside column after the first boil. They are good piece of kit and has done me good the past 3 years, I guess all filtration system have got their flaws

@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection the bamboo Caine doesn’t need to be long,just long enough to reach the base of the pod and enough left over for you to have a good grip on it. When both my nexus and pod have finished cleaning and are running again you can see the bases are clear of dirt. Also back washing helps a lot with both(pulling the cleaning pipe out while the waste is open to allow water to flush the opposite way)

Hi Si, yeah it is much nicer, all year round pond and nice to be able to see them. I couldn't cope if they were fully covered. Yes once heated, i know they will have a better winter. I won't heat massively in winter, and if anything, I will have constant temps from spring to autumn. Hope all is well your end, I need to catch up with your last video. Been busy like crazy.
