      The thing is you don't lose it. The MPG should increase around 10% if you used it the same way. But the extra power is there if you want a bit more fun.

    Stage 5 / 400bhp 🤣 what the hell there's lots out there with 5/6/700 bhp from these engines ? I'm by no means an expert I just thought they were big power engines haha just because a good stage 1 takes it to like 300 with the correct supporting mods dose it not ?

    People getting worried for the Crank Hub: If it's such a big concern to make you paranoid don't buy an s55. It means you cannot afford it and eventually repair it. Crank hub is not the only thing that can fail on these engines. Replaced my full valvevotronic and eccentric shaft for almost 2k n half.

    In my opinion, and I own a 66 plate OG M2, the power gains are not worth the expense or the hassle. The N55 in this particular version, is not a great engine for extracting more power. My previous car, an M140i, was a tuners dream, the B58 is easily tuned and gets massive gains. Standard my M140i made 336bhp (don't believe all the BS about the B58 making 360+ from standard, it's easy to inflate dyno figures). A remap saw 411bhp/576nm incredible gain. I then had a Wagner 200 cell cat fitted, and it made 455bhp/634nm again, incredible gain. I had xHP3 mapped to the ZF8 box, and the car was a missile (in a straight line). It passed the first MOT, but the 2nd and 3rd (with the 200 cell cat), it would not pass emissions, and if I didn't have a friendly MOT tester, I would have been fecked. The OG M2 isn't about massive power, it's qualities lay in it's suspension, handling, steering, etc. If you fit a decat, it will not pass an MOT, and unless you can get a dodgy tester to pass it, you will be in a whole heap of stress. All for 17bhp which you wont even notice in real terms driving it.

    Nice video WG Motorworks. Good work. I wouldnt compare the n55 in the m2 to the 135i though. Might be the same block but the internals are alot diffrent. Its got the s55 crank and s55 forged pistons. Extra oil cooler and a load of other bits and bobs done to it. So you cant really say its already highly tuned from a 135i because this is a better engine setup for the extra power which is safer for more power and further tuning but yes I guess its still an n55.

      Yes, the system is drained to remove the Rad - this is then vacuum bleed before refilling

    lovely video, I've got 2 questions if you don't mind How deep you have to drill in order to get the insane performance pinned hub in? Then I guess removing the front subframe means realigning the front axle ?

      The Pins are 4mm deep - so we drill 5mm to ensure fully inserted The subframe has dowel pins to locate at the front, so typically unlike other subframe designs there is no issue with alignment after

    These normally come undone due to aggressive downshifts, the stretch bolt is torqued to 600lbf….. they have been known to come undone in traffic believe it or not!!😳 If your running big BHP prevention is better than cure but if you keep an eye on these & check the torque you shouldn’t have any problems.

    thats made to warm of up the engine and help with cold starts, don't think its smart to program this out

      That’s where you’re slightly wrong, it’s job is to warm the stock cat up quickly to meet emissions. If someone has decat or sports cat it is not exactly needed👍

      Hybrid turbo, intake panel(possibly high flow), egr, and dpf delete whether that's straight pipe or drilling.

      For Stock engine its not needed, you can also tune with limited torque and peak HP without too much worry

    Hi Warren. We do this with the Mosselman kit. Never had any disasters yet Did you ever have the valvetronic motor actuator short? Had one 2 years ago the whole car shut down as the 5v power supply from DME shorted the 5v consumers including the fuel pump rotor position sensor. Disconnected and it started right up :) I did a massive top end rebuild on one of these but sadly the video was deleted haha. Just subscribed. Nice channel and best of luck with growing it :)

    All my gears are fine a slight wine and twitch in 5th, but i have a grinding/scrapping sound in 2nd-6th, mainly 2nd as thats quite loud, no idea if its the box or a clutch bearing. It stops when clutch is pressed. In neutral and clutch out theres a slight scrapping sound. Anyone else experienced that? Its mainly on decelleration too

      Any news? I have a similar problem after changing the clutch set . After the second new dmf the sound is still there so I don‘t know if is the gearbox or i am so unlucky with the dmf.
