    To remove the steering arm you need a - pitman arm puller - to press it out of the ball joint.

    Hi, great job, was wondering if I could add a winch and found your video, thanks, just I question in regards to the fair lead, looking at its placement it is down quite low, I know it would be difficult to know exactly where to cut the hole but were 100% happy or should it of been a little higher? Thanks again and great job fixing and installing that winch.

    BRO! i was trying to figure out why my drawer slide wouldn't lock in anymore! i figured out that I was missing the stop but couldn't figure out how that would affect the front lock! your video showed me that. in my quest to design a new drop down slide I now am conflicted. I can just fix my current slide with a 3d printed part!

    I work with fridge slides all the time, and the ball bearings are a necessary addition for longevity in our off road vehicles. The pieces that hold the ball bearings get deflected from the bouncing, then fall apart. Getting the bearings on there helps spread that load.

    just picked one up today and had it installed. It was working when I left the installer’s shop but after only 2 hours it had stopped working and didn’t heat the water past 30 degrees. What a piece of you know what. FYI - running it on 12V

    • @handymatt9377
      @handymatt9377 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, I haven't had an issue with mine. How is it powered on the 12V? Is it connected to a battery or running from the car feed in a caravan? Also make sure htere it is full of water. Check the LCD display as that is how you can set the temperature when on 12V. If the blue indicator light is not "on" then there is no 12V power.

    • @alanbransdon2731
      @alanbransdon2731 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@handymatt9377 thanks. It’s meant to be running off 12V from a separate battery to the cranking battery. The blue light came on when first installed but now it won’t come on. Checked the other troubleshooting tips you suggested with no success. Might be a faulty motherboard

    • @handymatt9377
      @handymatt9377 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alanbransdon2731 that woudl be disappointing. Sorry to hear that. Does it run off 240V? I guess also ensure that the secondary battery is fully charged. It could be a faulty 12V element.

    Gday Matt Enjoy all your videos on the Colorado. Where you mounted the breather hose bracket on the firewall is the space I have fitted a Provent catch can.( I tried a HPD brand, looks nice & shiny, but absolutely useless at catching oil vapour). Space is limited for a catch can, and the supplied hoses/ bracket dictate it’s mounting position. The breather bracket could go elsewhere as it doesn’t take up a lot of area. Thanks mate, keep up the great videos.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

    • @handymatt9377

      In the first video I did of this it was the passenger side CV boot I replaced and the CV connects directly to the 4wd diff so is a slightly different process to remove the CV. The rest of the job is the same.

    • @handymatt9377

      It's a real pain in the arse. I ended up having to access the exhaust header from the engine bay by removing the drivers side heat shield from the block. Once it was removed the cat came out from underneath but it only fit out one way. It was like Tetris but just keep turning it and it will drop out

  • @craigcoleman967

    Well-presented and very informative video Matt. Taking photos before you dismantle is a great idea. I'd suggest taking photos of both sides. I just took photos of one side thinking they're identical but they're not and it can get a little confusing trying to mirror image the photos in your head. I've just done the full kit - new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and shoe retaining pins. All went smoothly. Biggest drama was getting the old drum off. One shoe had ground itself 5mm into the drum and even with the adjuster fully backed off, nothing I did would allow the drum to release. I ended up having to unscrew the wheel cylinder and drill out the back of the shoe retaining pins. Eventually I was able to remove the drum!

    G’day Matt, thanks for showing the boot replacement and going into the little details that eliminate any areas that could bring the job to a halt due to confusion because of a missing step. It’s not uncommon for these to be damaged off road, but to just perish and split, it’s a good idea to regularly inspect the underside of the vehicle for damage. Thanks mate, I like your videos. 👍🇦🇺

    Put shoes in all done, Hub will not go over new shoe.. Adjuster all the way in ..??

    • @handymatt9377
      @handymatt9377 ปีที่แล้ว

      A couple of things to check. I assume you have the correct shoe size, make sure the shoes are centered on the axle...just hold both of them and pivot slightly side to side to get them centred as best as you can. Ensure the hand brake is off. If you still have issues getting hub on wind the adjuster all the way in. If this works but it rotates too easily, wind out adjuster a little.
