I found this on TH-cam two years ago. I lived in Jinan, Shandong, China at the time and craved anything I could get on the Cubs in the off season. Now, I am retired in Chiang Mai, Thailand and still watch (no need to stop...). Love the show, I watch every one!

I don’t why you guys are all excited, this team will be mediocre again. All the Ricketts care about is making money and raising prices. Hoyer sucks ass period. 8 million dollars a year for this loser manager, they should have kept Rossy and spent that 8 million on players instead of an idiot manager. The same exact record 2 years in a row. They will not win the central.

From what I have heard Tucker say about Chicago and the Cubs it sounds like he's happy here and wants to stay. I'm not sure if your guest was giving us a reality check but I don't like hearing anything negative about Tucker before he's taking his first at bat. You guys are marks. They’ve sold more than they’ve bought so far. Anything less than signing Corbin Burnes is a downgrade where the season is reliant on PCA and Shaw.

From my perspective, Cody Bellinger was the most versatile player on the Cubs, and I, for one, would have been a helluva lot more excited to see both him *and* Kyle Tucker in the lineup next year. You guys seem to be celebrating it, but I just don't see it that way.

Bad move- I think having Bellinger with Tucker would have been a great combination!

In his lone season as a Texas Ranger, the right-hander made his second all-star game. With the mid-summer classic hosted by his team, Yates got to show Ranger fans something they already knew, that he was a dominant part of their bullpen the year after their World Series victory. Yates got to work with a recent Chicago Cubs’ signing in Carson Kelly during his time in Arlington last year. His familiarity with so many faces around the league and his general success at multiple stops is super appealing to plenty of organizations. The veteran has 95 career saves with an 3.17 big league ERA across 411.1 innings tossed. In Yates’ 422 outings with six different franchises, he has a 1.11 WHIP. The best season of Yates’ career came back in 2019 with San Diego when he made his first all-star appearance. In 60 outings and 60.2 frames tossed, he had a 1.19 ERA with 41 saves. Yates showed shades of his 2019 campaign this past season, and it has plenty of suitors lining up at a chance to sign him this offseason. The Chicago Cubs would love to bring him to the NL Central for the first time in his career, but it will not be easy to land him. If the front office is willing to pony up to bolster the bullpen, they can be right in the mix to sign Yates in the coming weeks

That lineup doesn't sound like it cruises past the Brewers. I don't get the Happ lead off love. Strikes out 170 times , was hitting around .220 going into August. One year older, one year slower.

I was a huge advocate for not letting him go then I watched him last year. PCA without a doubt is a better fielder and base runner by a long shot. If he bats even a little better, we have a younger and better player. I liked Cody but he wants the massive payday but he doesn’t play like one of those players. Will he play center for the Yankees and is Rizzo gone from the Yankees yet? He’s a better center fielder than Aaron Judge but I don’t think he would want to DH. Cody is a similar to PCA but PCA is a threat every time he gets in base. I have to imagine that he’s been working on his hitting to bring up his power numbers and just getting the ball in play. Speed kills. I wish nothing but the best for Cody but he has to hit for so much more power to get the money he wants and I don’t see it happening. I don’t know what happened to Rizzo, but I really hope all the former Cubs, especially from the World Series team to do good and play like they did in that magical season.
