Unfortunately I am obliged to write in English. Nuk flisja Arvanit..None of the Arvanite hero's of the Independence War of 1821 would have any doubt about his identity. If you fail to understand that there have been in the history more important issues than common language and race roots, you cannot understand why Greek - thus Orthodox - Arvanite could never identify themselves in common with anybody fighting against their freedom and independence. Muslim Albanian, Muslim Serbs, Muslim Kretans or Muslim Cypriots, may have the same language and the same roots with Christian Albanians, Serbs or Greeks but they have identified themselves with the Ottoman authorities due to their religion. This is history. Muslim Serbs are identifying them selves as a new nation, Bosnians, Muslim Cypriots are Greek by origin but they are identifying themselves as Turks , Muslim Albanians could not pretend to be in love with their Arvanite "brothers". Christian Arvanite and Vorio-ipirote do not like Cami, as they have been mostly hostile to each other. It is impossible for the Albanians to sing real polyphony. Their kindergarten kind of singing proves it. The word for priest in Arman/ Vlach is preftu, not prifti. My name Prefti comes from preftu, not prifti. Prifti is in Albanian, but do you have priests? I know you are muslims.

2:25 On this picture we can see Athanasios Diakos, not Dimos Drakos! You should correct this. Athanasios Massavetas / Grammatikos was ethnic Greek, not an Arvanite. Also this is not true that Athens were Arvanite city. Athens, together with Megara or Oropos were Greek-speaking cities. Arvanites lived in Athens but mainly in district called Plaka.

Polyphonic singing is known also among Greeks (Greek-speaking) from Pogoni and Northern Epirus (South Albania). It also exist in traditions of Arvanitovlachs (Remeni) So I think polyphony singing from Epirus isn't exclusively Albanian or Greek, this is regional tradition practiced by people originating from this region, regardless of ethnicity / nationality. Who invented this? I think it is not important. Albanians will say it dates back to ancient Illyrians, Greeks will say it dates back to ancient Greece. Both of these statements have no meaning for me. If there are no clear proofs of continuity of this specific traditions in this region from ancient times, we can only guess.
