Sir, if heart beat rate is above 100+ during ECHO cardiography procedure can doctor detect valve regurgitation problem.. Or other valve related problem with rapid heart beat during echo?
I am 60 now and have been treated for hypertension for years. My sisters now have it as well and they live a healthy lifestyle. It is very genetic in my family. Two of my family members died from it because they did not want to be on meds. Both of them were under 50
Some questions I have after watching this great video: 1. My understanding that the 11mSv for a stress test is usually for a single dose. In my experience most stress tests do a double dose (at rest and then again when stressed - as you mentioned). In that case the exposure is trending toward 15-20mSv. Could you confirm this? When I asked at my regular nuclear stress test (no major abnormalities - just some chest pain) they said I received 44milliCuries in dosing in total which seems to be around 20mSv when converted. 2. Radiation exposure also depends on the type of tracer. Most seem to use Tc-99m (what I got) but looks like Thallium-based agent can also be done which is higher effective radiation. 3. Some stress test imagers also do a calcium CT scan which adds additional radiation exposure (~<1mSv I believe). 4. Some places instruct patients to limit close-proximity to small children, babies, and pregnant women for 24hrs-48hrs. The half-life of Tc-99m is 6hrs and you're still slightly radioactive for that period. While I'm sure the amount you'd subject someone to is negligible to the dose the you receive, it's still some radiation and young people are more susceptible to it. 5. If you're wanting to limit your radiation exposure as much as possible, drink a lot of water and sweat/shower if able. The radioactive elements are excreted in your pee, stool, and sweat. So if you pee a lot of it out a few hours after your procedure you may be reducing some of your exposure versus letting it sit in your bladder/kidneys. Plus being properly hydrated helps in body repairing the damage done to the tissue. I appreciate your video, it was very informative.
this the test I had performed at Lafayette general medical center. I remember at point I didn't know I could tolerate it but the team gave me confidence to continue.
What do you make of the Stanford study suggesting a high blood pressure reading after a stress test actually indiicates you're more fit than others who don't. I tested high and I find it hard to believe it's good news?
I had a heart cath in June with a proximal occlusion of my right coronary artery at 95%. Whoa. This my dominant artery. I have 2 other stents and a pacemaker. I have never smoked and eat pretty decently. There are genetics on my mom's side. SCD at 45 The heart cath stated I had severe LVDP. I was told this was a "little extra water." My primary was shocked and ordered an echo which shows mild to moderate AI. My cardiologist says there is nothing he can do for me. This is not what I have read or listened to. So frustrating. I have had significant symptoms of edema, dyspnea, and presyncope. Also a hacking drive you crazy cough. What do you do when your doctors refuse to do anything? Thanks
I'm more afraid of what is the source of my click murmur-I fear getting another operation for the purpose of installing an artificial valve although i guess i should be grateful for living in this modern time.
I felt GREAT After my stress test but my doctor said my blood pressure was high right after So, he did the wire through my wrist thing and my arteries are OK much, i think, to his suprise especially my Widowmaker. THEN I had an echo cardiogram which was normal all the way through but now he wants me to have a TEE because he hears a click or leaky sound when he listens to me. Why the high blood pressure after my stress test when I NEVER HAD IT? What about that Princeton study suggesting high blood pressure after a stress test means you're MORE fit?
My 79yo mom just had this done. Is it normal for the upper abdomen to be hurting a couple days later?
You tibe
Can I have this procedure done without any medicine?
Thank you Doctor for the information
AMAZING....my husband is so nervous so I wanted to watch and tell him it will be fine !!! Thank you
Just had Tee test today.. Just went to sleep and woke up .. that is... do not be afraid..
My stress test showed ST changes during the treadmill test. Cardiologist said she was unsure because I was able to run on the treadmill quite easy. Not sure what to think. Been short of breath for the rest of the day and my lungs feel like they cant get enough oxygen. Any thoughts?
2 weeks ago I had the echo cardio gram and treadmill test because I was feeling some chest pain and other symptoms. Cardiology called and informed me that my results showed some abnormality but did not specify. They said they could perform further testing i.e. an angiogram if I’m still experiencing chest pain and I choose to do so. The results were sent to my PCP. He told me that the test showed cardio hypokinesia/hypokinesis. I’m not sure if I should feel worried or not worried, although he said he wouldn’t have that type of further testing performed.🙏 Opinions appreciated. Thank you.
I don’t think I can lay in that gamma camera 7 minutes. So claustrophobic!😮
Had it done ,wish I never had it done .
Thank you for in depth description
Thanks. Clearly explained. My mum is having test now. Hopefully nothing is serious.
What does borderline mean ?
Thanks for sharing this video and information. I’m scheduled for a TEE post Watchman procedure. 😊

How is this test acirate to detect past heart attack
Thank You.
Thankyou.
stopping on which stage means desease? like not making to stage 4 what would it mean?
Do you ever try to figure out what is causing the high BP?
Typical doctor - no interest in root cause.
What is a natural remedy?
when i think of blood pressure medications i think of drugs worse for you than any narcotics
Has anyone had any dental issues during the procedure?
Thank you so much. I am scheduled for an echo in three weeks. Very nervous as heart disease runs in my family.
I'm getting one tomorrow - I appreciate the clarity of what this test is looking for and how the treadmill will behave.
very good video
My stress test came back abdominal n a few weeks I hve to do a PET SCAN . I was CAD hving all the symptoms ( chest pain, shortness of breath etc)
I'm in the uk...I had a echo test last year , I got a letter saying my test was normal and I'm being referred back to my doctor...I've asked for a copy of my results and was told they'll be posted but nothing came through. It's like they don't want me to see the results.
Thank you for being so informative and allowing us to visualize what goes on. I am a nurse over 11years and I'm changing my area of nursing to the cath lab. I do not want to go in blinded so I am researching all the things that I need to know Again thank you now. I can see clearly of what goes on. I'm prepared for my 1st day.
Should my doctor know I have a bone spur protrusion in my esophagus before tee test is done
Yes !!!
Should your doctor know that I I have a bone spur in your esophagus before this tee test is given
well understood
Thank you Chris, i just had a stress test yesterday, and noticed that my BP reached a very high 182 or more over ??? on the screen mid way through the test...is that normal after about stage 4 in the test.
