great stuff, man.
thanx man!
Wow. Your all pictures are awesome.
Very informative!!
awesome, it works
Great review, but you now leave me wanting to see the " How I make the 'processed' audio" video as it's cleary a lot better :) Does this exist on your channel?
I just got this lens, can't wait to use it with my xt20 😁
27mm on my xt-20 already heavy enough make me go out less, cant imagine this lens
@@kevin-sj3wt I use it only for portraits, so its not an everyday lens that I bring everywhere
Couldn’t you do this with a gimbal and your smartphone?
Isn’t it too soft, what if you bump into things, people, walls and other things?
Thank you, for some reason I never had any problems with this setting off. But last night I went out for astrophotography and on the camera the histogram looked good. In lightroom however I had to bump up the exposure by 2.5! I'm not sure why I never had this problem before, considering I did some astro before.
It looks great but is it protective enough? Is there any cushioning inside?
Wouldn't ND filters help slow down your shutter speed even if using AUTO?
I'm thinking about this lens for sony a7iii. I take pictures at concerts! :)
I purchased this mic also...but, I have to say your lavalier tie mic sounds much better than ECM-M1 to me, why? M1 is very expensive and usually it sounds worse than the mic used for the reviews.. Many thanks for the video :)
Great video , well done ! So you think it is better to purchase the freewell set than the official dji set of three filters for pocket3 ?
Love the honesty! The easiest way to know if you need ND filters is super simple. If you use auto mode 100% of the time you don't need ND filters. If you use Manual on the pocket you will need ND filters to get optimal results.
Wouldn't ND filters help slow down your shutter speed even if using AUTO?
@CambodiaExpatsOnline It could. But you probably won't get consistent results. To truly get worthwhile results. You should learn manual.
I’ve been using the hell out of that lens for my concert photography/videography.
I come from Vietnam. Thank you very much for your very practical and useful information about ND filter for Pocket 3. Hope the channel grows more and more
Last Act😂
Love from INDIA ❤❤❤
Dan, that range looks like it would be very useful. Cost for the Nikon Z version is $200 more than the Sony mount. I have a love hate relationship with my current Sony camera so I am glad to see the Z mount available.
thank youuuuuu!!!!!!! neeeeed a tutorial on carousels plz
been waiting for a review like this. i kinda prefer cheating and editing the shine effects in post
Some nd filter brands will close and open normally...people that do not know how to use them should not buy them..
Love this. Keep killing it out there in the wild.
MY GUY
Definitely would love to see tutorial on carousels Ngl when you started showing photos I was like “cool” But when you played the video clip I was like “oh DAMN” Probably gotta pick these up
This is awesome! In your video, you say that at times you may only have the first 3 songs to shoot? Why is that?
For most concerts, shooting the first 3 songs is generally the limit for non-band credentialed photographers. If you are shooting for the band or venue, it is likely that you will have more time to shoot. But if you are shooting for yourself or on behalf of some sort of media outlet, you will typically only get to shoot the first three songs. Hope that helped!
That just makes me go "shucks." 😅
Sometimes you just gotta SHUCKS it off!
I've loved to use PrismFX filters for years already (especially love using the anamorphic one during the rave parties), but damn they are expensive. Now there are other brands making same filters, but then they released magnetic versions which fixed my main issue with them which was getting filters stuck to each other while stacking. I hope Urth or some other brand starts making all these cool filters with the magnetic attachment soon :'D
I believe Urth is in the magnet game, but just with CPL's and ND's. A full, quick system of effects lenses would be rad!
@@danvirchow Yeah I already have the Freewell ones from the kickstarter. Really love using them, but I rarely use any other than the CPL or mist. Really want the effects filter kit with the same system.
Canon R6 Mii user here for my work and will keep using. Bought an XT5 for the film sims, travel and fun. Disappointed to say the least. Considering for a Sony A7cII.
I much prefer the A7CII after spending ample time with it the past few months. Both are great cameras in their own right, but I just prefer the full frame nature of the Sony.
I just switch to A7C2 from XT5.
@@ivanio1207 how do you like it
Fire!! I use something similar and I love it
Tell me more! What's your setup?
Cool 😎 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
Can I use nd filters with auto settings on instead of switching to manual ?
You certainly can, and it will lower the camera's shutter speed getting you closer to having motion blur, but it's all dependent on the environment you're shooting in.
My God....real, honest and down right useful advice still exists today. I was on the fence about the ND filters and to be honest, I only purchased the OP3 for personal use, nothing work related. Dan The Man Virchow, job well done! You saved me $99 AUD on stinking filters.
Ha, great to hear! They definitely have their place, but in a personal work flow, just completely unnecessary. Go crush it!
I’m with you on this. I have ND filters for my Sony cameras, but the point of the Pocket 3 for me is convenience. Turn it on and start shooting. I bought the K&F var ND filters and the are so hard to see the writing on them and the little tick mark. It makes it hard to set. I’ll probably hardly ever use the filters.
I just took the P3 to Europe for over 40 days and didn't use my ND filters once!
Beast…….i think not.
*mini-beast!
@@danvirchow Look, it's a great little camera but to label it a beast is over the top.
The edit makes almost everything at this lens...Congrats!
🙏
What are your daytime settings ,for conditions like this ? Mine looks way too bright even with (KF) filter on...
Thanks for doing the distance test! It drove me crazy that nobody else was testing that. I watched several videos on it but this is the only one to actually gave me the information I needed. Subbed!
Hope it helped!
Great video about what not to buy! I have been watching a ton of videos about this camera and it's all this settings you should have (framerate, shutter speed, iso etc.). Besides that you have to select gimble mode. When you have done all the settings correct you have missed the object you where supposed to shoot.
you have an excellent presentation style and a soothing voice for vlogging. well done son :-)
Thank you! New videos coming soon.
24bit 4 channel is a killer feature.
That and the auto gain on here are reasons enough to get one!
@@danvirchow Out doors that's indeed my go to mode, but I think I'll set it manually indoors to avoid potential noise floor. Should be tested though as it might work perfectly.
Great vid, I wanted the rode one aswell but one con for me is that for vlogging it only picks up in front and not behind you. In my case I needed for vlogging
I just took this little mic to Europe for 40+ days and was amazed at the quality! Used it in auto the entire time.
Quality was on point, was the handling noise loud while moving and vlogging?
@@stevievlogs_ not at all from the footage I’ve reviewed. I was amazed at how well the auto gain held up during concerts. Perhaps I’ll make another video with some of that footage.
The original pics are better without the effects lol
Don't disagree at all! 😆
"Funktionality" does not get together with a Sony A6x or A7c! I owned a A6000 for years, than PEN F, than a GH6 (because of video). And I thouht: Holy Moly a cam can be sooo easy to handle. I sold (not yet) the GH6 for a X-H2s, because it is a better Hybrid. In terms of funktionality the X-H2s is not to be beaten: 7 (seven) custom modes plus video and PASM. (Mine: C1=6.2k open gate, C2=4K, C3=4k120, C4=FHD240, C5=BKT, C6= Panorama, C7=preshot up to 40FPS), plus sholder display which shows me the details that are dialed in, also in the dark, or off! Just a click and you are good to go. Joystick and several custom buttons. 5.76mio 120p 0.8mag. Viewfinder. no overheating Cf ex B cards = faaast and cheap (+SD) When I WAS a Sony A6 User I wished a FF in a compact and stylish form would come out. Exactly what a A7CII is. Pretty much. But I am 8 years more experienced now. Imho an A7C is a perfect cam for beginners.
Great video and don’t we live in such an amazing time that we get to have such amazing options. ❤ I own both cameras… and after shooting weddings with my Sony for a few months I still find my Fuji images more pleasing than my Sony files. For me it’s only an autofocus thing ;) . Recently started printing huge prints and man again the Fuji files printed look soooo good imo. The Sony has such a digital look … you know what I mean? Now I also shoot shooting 5k running races all over the state aaaannnndddd give me my Sony all day. I will never miss a shot and the artistic value doesn’t have to be there 🤙 Again great vid and hope you have a fantastic week!!! Happy snapping 😊
They certainly both have their charms and I would recommend either system to anyone. I am personally just connecting more with my Sony gear.
Great honest review. Thanks bro
Thanks for checking it out!
What are the end pixel dimensions of the 180 degree mode ? Thanks
You said nothing
