Fallout: Sonora - part 3
มุมมอง 17112 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Part 3 of a long awaited translation to a long awaited total conversion. There are very few translation errors, but I do find a couple now and then :P My only caveat is the install procedure right now. So I'll be making a video covering an alternative install method that bypasses the currently promoted all-in-one installer, because this mod was made without needing any extra stuff, it was desig...

Mutants Rising - 11 Minutes of Beautiful Fallout 2 Map Art in 4k
มุมมอง 6684 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Mutants Rising mod is a highly anticipated Fallout 2 mod that has yet to see a release date. Last year .Pixote released images of all the maps he'd made onto the NMA forums and I wanted to make a video showcasing them. These map levels look really good, imo, and make the world of Mutants Rising look incredibly interesting. I hope I get a chance to see it released one day :) www.nma-fallout....

Hey Quantum, Jinx here! This is goshdarn lovely. I used to poke through Pixote's work whenever I needed inspiration for the writing, so this is legit awesome dude. Thanks!
dude I love these maps! They're so well fleshed out it ends up being post-apocalyptic pretty :P
@quantumapprentice8120 yeah, the fella really knows what he's doing, that's for sure.
I soft locked my play through. SPOILERS. I destroyed the church and killed the rangers before meeting with the BH. General Dixon won’t forgive and you can’t advance the main quest, I have heard about an independent ending but the BH is near impossible to defeat.
wow thanks for the heads up!
I think this hides spoilers?
lol apparently not, stupid AI messing up my comments :P
About the bar you can just give them some alcohol from your inventory. Personally I like most locations in this mod and quests, or rather interactions you can do once you visit more locations and connect the dots. Good amount of options to solve problems in some cases. This game is really well balanced but you will see it at some point I think :)
@@Pojechany I definitely like all the quests having dialogue solutions. Sadly I couldn't figure out the beer...I probably pissed off the character too much.
@@quantumapprentice8120 Nah you didn't its just the same situation as using meat on Dogo in Klamath from Fallout 2. Sometimes you just have to handle/use item manually not through converstation :D
@@Pojechany aaah! ok, like the boots! :P thanks for the tip!
Is this mod on any other trusted sites? I'm not sure of the one you have to create an email to get this mod.
I'm not sure where you have to create an email to get the mod, but if you're looking at the rutracker.org torrent, you can click on the magnet link below the in-game images. If your torrent program isn't configured for your browser, you can right click and copy the magnet link and paste it into the "add the torrent link" option in your torrent program. However, I recommend trying NovaRain's method first, as you don't have to download somewhat shady torrents from a russian torrent tracker: www.nma-fallout.com/threads/fallout-sonora-1-14-and-sonora-dayglow-1-14-vanilla-translation.222396/post-4528440
That is the part we waiting for :) . Unfortunately in Fallout Sonora , soo far i watched your videos seems that dialogues are really long . I don't wanna put negative comments into this good game but as in Fallout universe it seems not logical for me to include longer texts into NPC 's soo much maybe few of them could have that kind of talkative behaviour but otherwise this losing focus on Fallout environment i think :) . But other than that this game soo far i watched from you and some friends of mine looks really interesting and almost good crafted game .
It's not the length of the dialogues that's the problem, it's how well they're written, and what options they give the player. Which seems a bit hit and miss so far. On the other hand, all the quests I've found so far have peaceful dialogue based solutions, which used to be the standard in the original games. This is something I really like, at least when the peaceful solutions make sense...which it kind of didn't for the Farm section. Now, if you think the dialogues are too long, how would you play it? Are you looking for more combat sequences? I can't think exploration works the same as a bethesda fallout, since crafting isn't really a thing in the original fallouts.
@@quantumapprentice8120 In Fallout 1 since the game itself short , the dialogues is in this game well distributed most likely like for example when you visit Junktown there are few NPC's can really talk really long enough but in general it's most likely direct approach dialogues . In Fallout 2 because the game itself can be easly say at least 2 times bigger ( content wise ) than Fallout 1 the dialogues distrubition is kinda more free . So in some places you have less dialogue options and in some few areas you can get more dialogues depends on the situation and it's well crafted . Of course not me or most of us like Fallout fans maybe can't make such game designing well enough than the actual developers itself so i understand that . Well on Bethesda side except Fallout 3 since it has soo much resemblance with Fallout 1 can't say it's dialogues are bad but Fallout 4 on the other hand Fallout Sonora really good game on dialogue comparing :) . And as for crafting i'm 100% disagree on that like build a statement and some sort of things i didn't like at all . I always imagining Fallout universe as the society collapsed and humanity which they trying to survive in this Wasteland , so logically the people who survived on these harsh conditions , at least most of them should be like not educated well enough so they suppose to response with some direct approach or even more likely to cautious to interact with someone ? I esspecially said not all NPC 's but i believe most of them should expect from player to get something from them like i need this kind of thing or my kid has been lost or something like i need these kind of equipments .. etc . I know i just write so many things about this topic sorry about that :) Just would like to share my opinion about this wonderfull universe that's all , might not be right about my statements also , i'm open minded for any discussion about that :)
@@Jaqinta ok so what you're describing are called "fetch quests", which I'm not against, but I prefer quests that are a bit more involved...not that this mod has had anything more interesting than clearing out a farm so far. Maybe the Rangers map will have something better.
Thank you for timestamps 🎉
hope they're helpful! let me know if I missed any :)
Please, Make an episode on how to download Olympus but install it separately because I didn't finish the campaign
How do you mean "install it separately"? Olympus 2207 is a total conversion mod, but I'm pretty sure the vanilla installer creates a separate folder inside the Fallout 2 folder and installs itself there. However, I always just make a copy of the fallout 2 folder and install total conversion mods like this in a completely new install of the game. It's only around 600mb per game copy, and you won't touch your original campaign. But maybe you mean the installer is confusing or have a problem with it? Let me know if that's the case, I'll try and help you out :)
Warlockracy in a fallout mod is discount civvie11 in postal 4.
lol hey, he gets more subs than me, so I gotta respect that :)
Bro I know it's an old vid but excellent job.
for this? well thanks, but I totally need to go back and edit these down...or maybe replay them :P
@@quantumapprentice8120 Well for the series really. Old Fallout rocks, and the mods are pretty impressive. Its always nice to watch someone who isn't perfect at a game but also not trying to over exaggerate for attention. Keep it real bro, its a good vibe.
@@SincerelyYoursAK74 aw thanks! you should check out some of the newer mod videos if you haven't already. I spent a lot of time editing them down to just the mod gameplay :)
I played this with the English Google Translate patch a couple years ago. Had a blast with both this and Fallout: Nevada. Do you have any interest in going back to Fallout: Yesterday someday? There are still things being added and/or tweaked, but you can finally play the game from start to finish now.
I do want to play Yesterday from start to finish, but I'm so busy these days that I'm having trouble finding time to play anything. I feel lucky I'm managing to play Sonora for a few days....and this is such a large mod that I'm not sure when I'll be able to finish it.
Repair is kinda neat in this one. It really helps if people played Fallout Online before its easier to recognize what may be used for what :) Some advice if needed about stuff you saw and missed in Villa. **You had for example broken shelf left in Villa I believe left side area with old woman. After repairing it there was more loot. You could also inspect rider symbol on one of the houses. Not sure it gets EXP though. Garage City dialogue option about guard gun right here is different with high repair skill. **
dude! awesome! I have to check those out! thanks :)
I think Math logic could enable you to see how much of lockpick, repair, science you need to open a certain container or fix a certain stuff. Seems super useful perk. You would also see the dialog options.
I'm not sure about that yet, it definitely works in dialogue, would be cool if it worked on locks too
Even for example what do you need to whip up the laser pistol. But thats just a guess =D
hey love the video! Question though, why did you downgrade the sfall version?
You sound more Italian than Spanish when you impersonate the mexican characters, which makes it truly hilarious! Cheers from Argentina! 🇦🇷
lol aweseome! glad you're enjoying it :)
any idea how to properly install it since you've started the playthrough yourself? Last time I tried I gto a virus check and that really made me go " yup, I''m not taking that risk "
I'm still working on a bunch of stuff at the moment, but NovaRain came up with a pretty comprehensive approach here: www.nma-fallout.com/threads/fallout-sonora-1-14-and-sonora-dayglow-1-14-vanilla-translation.222396/page-31#post-4528440 Let me know if you need any help, and also if this works for you :)
@@quantumapprentice8120 Any links to the original so I can start the process in the link you provided? Last time I tried getting the original there were about 3 different downloads scattered in the nets, really frustrating trying to choose between a github download, a mega download and mod db or NMA. I had no trouble downloading Olympus and Nevada TWICE, so I'm not sure why Sonora is such a hassle, and that's coming from me who works with mods all the time.
Oh nice! More people should know that this is now playable in english :) One of my fav old fallout mods not gonna lie I played it twice and it was pleasure especially the dlc special area :D
nice! this translation is definitely a solid one, although installing is a little awkward right now, even with the automated installer
ALLL RIGHT Gigggity gigtyy geeee ^_^
lol
Maybe it was supposed to be "there is no trace left ON the door", as in no trace of the attack.
possibly, here's hoping the translator is watching the streams and is willing to verify or make changes :)
make sure when you get the radio in garage city you can use it to find the jackals hideout to rescue one of the desert rangers.
ooo thanks! I'll try and remember that!
@@quantumapprentice8120 yeah if you side with lucas and kill the boss of garage city. His assisstant will have a radio to sell afterwards. To get a new location after you do all that. Talk to the bartender and he will hint you on a branhim hunt which will take you to a new location
Great game.Better then fallout 2.
definitely a solid mod, not sure I'd agree its better than the base game yet, but I'm liking what I'm seeing :)
Ew, a stream ? No thanks.
lol well too bad, that's what you're getting :P
Damn, it's been a long time since you last uploaded a Fallout total conversion mod! 💣 This is the best Christmas gift I've ever received! 🎁 Hopefully, there'll be a part 2 on New Years, maybe? 🤔
was hoping to get part 2 up today, but it takes forever to finish editing these streams :P It'll be out by new years at least. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays :)
Very happy to see this mod finally translated. Played it earlier this year in russian and can't recommend it enough: it's basically Fallout 1.5, the writing is just outstanding (although I'm not really a fan of Garage-city, but the game really pick up after that)
Garage City track is a real banger though
gotta admit, once you get to flagstaff the quests get way more interesting! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! :)
i think its easyer to remember to save a lot then geting a auto save mod for fallout 2
maybe, but an auto-save mod would be awesome for newbies :)
Good Year ending ^_^ Thank you for video <3
@@whiskeybob717 glad you're enjoying it! Happy holidays :)
Peak as hell!
lol thanks :P Happy holidays!
Nice 🎉
thanks! happy holidays :)
@quantumapprentice8120 Oh thank you! Happy holidays to you too! Hope you have a great time✨
It's mental the detail in this free mod
there is definitely a lot of well crafted questlines, I'm enjoying them a lot
Great mod! Fallout will always be in my heart ❤❤❤❤❤❤
yes it is :)
Well is this a real Christmas present or what? Was really looking forward to your Let's Play series of Sonora, I hope you find enough free time to actually finish the mod, it's rather BIG. Also, Happy New Year and a very Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤Thank you for all of your hard work Quantum, and for helping Mutants Rising come to life, Godspeed and all the best in 2025 🙏
I hope I find the free time too, there are a lot of quests in just the first couple of towns, and this mod seems well crafted with breadcrumbs leading to all the major towns so far, and lots of side quests, and a bunch in Flagstaff that seem to be inter-twined with each other. should be interesting to see how far this mod goes! Thank you for the support! Happy Holidays!
Personally, knowing about this relatively new and solid translation of Fallout Sonora is certainly comforting after playing a rather questionable translation of Fallout Olympus.
yeah, this translation makes a lot of sense most of the time, and the few times it doesn't are minor typos, so I'm duly impressed by Cambragol's translation
Mutants will rise once more and this time they ain't get defeated easily !
lol
it's the best mod ever
have they had an official release yet?
50:25 looks amazing :)
pixote is a hell of a map maker :)
>Last year .Pixote. released images of all the maps he'd made onto the NMA forums IIRC that was in March 2021, almost four full years at this point...time flies I guess lol
tell me the turth, how close to completion is this?
pretty close, but I still haven't been able to play through the entire game yet, there is definitely a lot of work still being done with finalizing the scripts.
@@quantumapprentice8120 so it will come out? Amazing.
@@arkgaharandan5881 lol yeah I'm pretty sure it's on a solid track for release, at least there's several of us working on it pretty consistently
@@quantumapprentice8120 doesnt the engine crash with all those sprawling town maps?
@@arkgaharandan5881 nope, the engine was designed to handle 200x200 hex maps, you should be able to fill all 40,000 tiles and have the game load and play just fine...though I don't think I've seen anybody bother to just fill every tile before :P
About robbing random traders … Well I wasnt able to rob the trader But guards are easy to rob And they have decent stuff But you have to move away from them After each take something (Save scam tanny like everything else)
I was mostly testing the gloves. They might help but its tough to tell, especially if they didn't do anything to change the way stealing is calculated by the game. But yeah, early robbery in this game makes early weapons a lot easier to obtain :P
Note : The dud looking for girl There is skin color check If you are white you he will get annoyed Lili - her name is nice Singing tany option
no way! really? huh so race is a character stat in this, not just an art piece?
Also , there is exploit i found Doc never get agreesive when you rob him So you can rase endless xp , but you wont Its annoying as hell Still an exploit
nice! thanks for letting me know :)
Hit and run 3/7 works on those zombies
I'm sorry, I'm not sure which part you're talking about.
