Really interesting to see your settings. I have an i9 13900kf with a 4090, 64gb ddr5 6000mhz & Crystal light & would never or have never been able to put so many settings up so high & get it to run smoothly especially with shadows on in the Apache😢. Do you have it at 90hz & capped to 45? I tried it yesterday & it makes me feel sick. Goes kinda fuzzy. What I'd give for someone to be able to get my system running with your performance 🙏

It's not capped at all. There's a setting in the nvidia control panel that is specifically for VR, it's called something like VR prerendered frames, the option range is one up to 4. Select 4 if it's not there yet.

There's not an automatic process for it, you have to either overwrite or create a new waypoint or similar by entering the coordinates given to you by the JTAC.

Yeah real DCS pylotes can do anything real helicopter pilots can do, everybody knows this translates directly to real life!

OH! Lmao I completely missed the mark there. Appreciate your service! I imagine that's one of the best parts of DCS is that you can always choose to have a perfect aircraft, and no one has to take care of it after you get back on the ground.

Nah I agree with you. It's an ambitious project, for sure. Development ain't easy and a lot of keyboard warriors expect everything to happen instantly but that's just not how things work.

I really enjoy it. There's a lot coming that should make it even better!

Yes, but they said they identified the issue and it should start feeling better in the next major update (0.2)

UE5 is very system intensive. It sounds like there are some good optimizations with version 4 of UE5 but they have to build the game up with that. Still, new engine/new game, I would expect it to be much more demanding. It's not as bad as when Crysis came out and made every single gaming PC at least!

@@RaptorRising It's literally worse than Crysis :D Crysis didnt require you to run Frame gen and it still ran decently on high end PCs at the time. Not to mention Crysis was basically the best looking game for years after release, while this... It's barely good looking :D The engine is not the issue, the code is. There's games done in UE5 that are running smoothly. For example The Finals :)

M80 sucks in general, but I'm not going to lie and say M61 or M62 are better. I use M62 because it's a tracer and you can tell where you're aiming. You have to get a headshot or it's not worth using it

I don't think that's fair. They dropped what, 6 updates in the first 3 or 4 months, and they've been grinding away on the night cycle. But I do agree it's hard to see how this game will be received when it's officially launched in 3 years, that's definitely a very long time in the oven.

I think that's something we all wish for. They said optimization is something they'll continuously be working on, but I don't think there is going to be a magic solution that makes it all better in one go

Bob makes life MUCH easier especially on these long hauls. It still has some quirks but I like where it's heading!

Watch your fuel, the auxiliary tanks don't feed the mains (known bug) keep the tanks toppers for now...

Hey Shinobi, I'm actually using VR. I run everything on high/max with some tweaks here and there. I run 80% resolution in open xr which helps a lot. Cheers!

I don't experience any flickering at all. Once in a while the G2 will freak out and move my head position all over the place, but I've never had mine flicker on me

I am in VR. There are two binds you can set in the UI layer in the controls, one for toggle VR zoom and another for toggle VR spyglass zoom.

Not sure - this game isn't free but I have an absolute blast playing it. Feels very grounded and immersion, more of a sandbox experience.

@RaptorRising arena breakout infinite is what I was talking about. Have you tried it? I am totally interested in gray zone but my budget is tight. Also delta force is supposed to be releasing free soon.

I'm really concerned about both of those titles and if they'll have pay to win assets. Delta force may not so much, the devs have said the paid assets will be cosmetics. Probably a hot take but Delta force just looks like a copy of 2042 but a little more grounded. Just my opinion though.

I have like 150hrs in Grayzone and its boring as fuck, long times to travel, not much eq, aimbot ai - you fly for 6 minutes, wait for heli for 5 minutes, die instantly from far away, no go for solo players.

Actually, the aircraft is working totally fine right now. The radar is back up and everything else is working pretty well. That being said, it's difficult to recommend it because we don't know what will happen to it. If you do buy it, I think you'll have an absolute blast, but it's impossible to say how long it will continue to function well.

@@RaptorRising After you asked these questions, I checked all my permissions and everything is good. Now I can alter existing missions and can make my own with certain aircraft but not with the F-15E or other aircraft I own... strange!

​@@onyoursix2268 It's worth checking your antivirus. Since the drama with razbam something within the F-15E (also the harrier in some cases) went out of date and has been flagging up in some Anti-virus' and being removed resulting in it not being available within DCS.

You can find them (although they are very rare) in the UNLRA container and the pier. Both require keys to get in to them.

but you can't pick up another sling load... or do you do a repair after every load?

@@jamesmontgomery9464 I only did it once the other day, but if you close the emergency release cover (it closes the switch), reset the selector to off and turn off the hook power, you can then repower and go through the same procedure for another sling load. I hope they fix this properly and soon.

You don’t need to use the emergency release. You need to always have the hook set to mid, it’s the only one that works right now. Set the remote to pilot. You need a button mapped to open the cover for the hook release on the cyclic and open it before using the release button.

It's because the fuel quantity warning keeps coming on. It's another bug of thr Chinook right now, unfortunately. And it's super annoying.

That's how I felt about it at first , too. I changed my mind and got it, but I completely understand your point.

I'm a bit disappointed but the chopper is a blast to fly otherwise.
