@DefinitelyNotATerriblePerson I am going to skirt political commentary here and leave everyone to draw their own conclusions, but the arsenal our swat team is carrying is not far from reality at all. Police in the US are heavily militarized; you can feel how you want about that. Real life is already bordering on a dystopia. The world of Ready or Not is a dystopia in full swing. The police are dealing with so many domestic threats that they may as well be a special forces branch.
@@RaptorRisingno no. It’s not Coast Guard. It’s C.O.A.S.T. Also, idk if anyone else said this but there’s two plate carriers they added. The other one is at the end of the list.
So according to the lore, LSPD partnered with C.O.A.S.T (Possibly alternative version of Search and Rescue) to commence operation overseas. You can find some posters about it around the police station, and also some C.O.A.S.T gear scattered in the evidence room. Considering the deteriorating condition of the city, I'm guessing that's how they even have boats and helicopters to begin with.
We need microphone voice commands for AI. it kicks the immersion up and completely transforms how well you're able to flow with AI teammates. Was a huge game changer for SWAT 4
@@RaptorRising Yup, you can. Last I checked it just feels a bit clunky. The UI popping up, your in-game character repeating the things you just said, the delay. Very cool but it needs to be tighter.
I hope they add in an ability for suspects to get into hand-to-hand combat with the player, that’d be f’ing terrifying on maps like crack house or this one. Make it similar to a quick-time event or something but just imagine being jumpscared by a suspect and them trying to steal your gun or knock you out? Or if they had a knife, it’d be even better.
@agoodman1614 haha they can basically push you to death, if that counts? You can bash them back with your own melee but they'll usually win once the shoving match starts
i really wish you could sprint in this game... i dont find it very realistic how when you're being shot at you move away about fast as a turtle even with hold ready... even more shocked how i haven't been able to find a mod addressing this either.

Are you doing career or quick play? If you do career you have to finish all the main missions first. If you do quick play, when you go to select the mission, there should be a tab there for the dark water dlc. Click that and choose one of the three new maps
@aceofspades0074 yeah new voice for TOC. I like it! I know some people want the old one back. It would be cool if there was a way to switch them but I bet there will be a mod to do this at some point anyway.
The new ‘weapon momentum’ changes make the weapons feel like crap to me, the slightest horizontal movement with some guns and optics cause you to immediately lose the reticle. It’s not realistic for the weapon to wiggle that much, your arms aren’t noodles. I also don’t like the direction of movement, the muzzle should be leading, not dragging. The new surrender animations are nice, but they shouldn’t be pointing the gun directly at officers. And you definitely shouldn’t get an ROE violation for shooting them when they do. It would be nice if they had faster animations as well, not every person should have sloth like movements. They also made no changes to SWAT AI behavior, they still have a slow reaction time, move into/past danger zones (especially to secure weapons/individuals), blast right through hostages etc. Many of the problems can be solved by simple parameter changes, ridiculous that they haven’t been addressed yet.
I never understood recoil in this game, like a baby with a AK. Its almost like giving a gun to a random passer by in Cali who's scared of guns. Like how bad recoil was or might still be for the 556. Its almost like you are trained to shoot these guns and have plenty of range time to not be as bad as a cop who can't unload a revolver
Feel like it does this to emphasize tactics and maneuvering. Most guns are very manageable in semi auto, and a few of them are really easy to control full auto. A 308 should kick quite a bit, but to your point, with enough training most recoil handling is mitigated through experience
@RaptorRising I often for range day run a mk17 and maybe its my size but I dont move all that much and a 556 never climbs above a inch of muzzle climb for me. I wish games translated that more I get them wanting to implement a recoil management system but I just feel some stuff could be toned down. Its probably me, I can handle it fine its just odd. But I'm a hopeful for a game to give me that sense of realism where most guns just sort of jitter in your hands of you control it properly, tho ive only even shot with swat twice helping them with some stuff and them compared to most of us is nearly night and day. I'm probably hopeful having 13 years of experience a giant chunk of it active combat zones and when I see games try for the tactical stuff or other games for military simulation my brain probably expects it to be as if it was managed like riding a bike. Still a bit weird to me that games invite high recoil where first rounds the chest 2nd is the head when you double tap, thats a massive leap. I get it but I dont
I have a lot of experience with the SCAR 17 and I'm a big fan of the platform. While it as a punch, it is also very manageable in semi-auto. I do feel like that's the case in the game. I can't speak to one in full auto, but I bet it's an absolute blast. 5.56 is very comfortable as well. I'm a bit spoiled in the game as well as I run the gunfighter mod, and it tweaks things pretty nicely, so the stock RoN experience is kinda lost on me, haha. Look for it on nexusmods. It was just updated for the new patch!
@@RaptorRising I have a trigger pack in my mk17 I got few a steal, its clean. If you ever have a chance rip a few mags through one full-auto. Dont need much weight behind it to hold it in place it should sorta infinity symbol in your hands held rifht because of its weird recoil pattern being a short stroke gas pistol, its pretty neat.
Let me know if the mic setup is an improvement. I got a yeti orb and I'm trying to figure out if it's a good fit!
yep it sounds clearer and less saturated
At this point we’re special forces, not a swat team

That 100% makes sense. I'm sure there's a lot more lore to deep dive in this update too. Looks like the MLO is being pushed heavy
Wouldn't overseas imply operating outside US Juristiction? They're just operating a short bit off the coast of the US, still within US waters.
