I first read the assassin's blade and the throne of glass in early 2021, and I absolutely despised the assassin's blade, but I kept reading because I REALLY wanted to read Throne of Glass. I actually liked Throne of Glass at first, but Celeana literally sucks. Also, the frenemies to lovers stuff between her and the Prince was soooo weak. I also really hate Sarah J Mass hehe

I doubt you’ll see this, but a good romance book is outlander. It does have sex scenes but they aren’t about the sex. They are written like any good sex scene, an exchange of emotions. There is actually a lot I can learn from them as a writer (Diana Gabaldon even released a book about it, “I give you my body…” how I write sex scenes.) They are very good books as well, incredibly written with a writing style I fell in love with. Content warning for the books, they contain rape and other stuff of that nature.

hi there! youtube algorithm suggested your video and for once it didn‘t do me dirty! 😉 love your reading journal and the way you set it up. despite being a lifelong voracious reader i just started tracking my reading a couple of years ago and even more recently started a reading journal. absolutely love your book shelf spread - would love to see it all filled in. is there a video of that? i have to check. i cannot draw to save my life, doesn‘t stop me from trying though and i might try and integrate the bookshelf in my brand spanking new reading journal. the archer & olive books are gorgeous. sadly, here in tiny town austria (think lederhosen, not joeys) they are not available (not even mail order - it‘s that… well, tiny and „old-world“ austrian). the one i got instead (moleskin) does have issues with bleed through. will have to try the dingbat notebook next year. also: the choice of music and your voice (hope that‘s not too odd to comment on) are just absolutely soothing. happy reading and journaling! monica 📚🐾🐾

Honestly, i was so disappointed by this book. I am an avid fantasy lover and certified nerd myself and I was really looking forward to immerse myself in an expansive fantasy world and i have had this series recommended to me on multiple occasions. It just felt like an extremely.generic and unoriginal fantasy tale. Everything was extremely predictable and could be seen from miles away, entire elements of tolkien's world were shamelessly incorporated into it, the rushed ending with the super obvious deus ex machina finish where rand flips on god mode chosen one switch and wraps up the conflict in like a single paragraph and so so many other issues, ( do not get me started on mat) I was literally so irate by the end of it i threw it across the room lol. Oh my god that ending was atrocious. Being an introduction to the rest of the series is no excuse for such sloppy uninspired writing. As someone who has read the sword of truth series, and trust me, i was very critical.of many of them especially the last few, wizards first rule waaaas so much more interesting and original than the eye of the world.
