    Was the wife White? Kids look mixed so is the father. Perpetrator were never located so it's hard to tell who is behind this crime and for what reason. To speculate on this topic without evidence is unethical as it contributes to racial tension. And it's widely known slaves didn't free themselves. White people fought for their freedom. It's called Civil War in American history. A lot of Black folks today going through the same thing. They are called Uncle Tom by their own people just because they are trying to break away from ghetto culture. God only knows who did this to them. One thing is clear, it was done out of jealousy. Very similar to Murders of Jan Pawel and Quiana Jenkins Pietrzak.

    it wasn't even only the pro circles. my mom grew up in the 70s/80s in a tiny little village in the eastern block, she was a talented gymnast but her coach pushed her too hard which directly resulted in her breaking her leg despite her repeatedly telling them the vault was too far, she was shamed for "missing out" on the season due to her broken leg, then once she was healed she started going through puberty and her coach didn't like her new figure so she was pushed out of the sport, i can tell she's still hurt over it even after all these years

    The pressure can come from parents too. As a young girl I was training in a professional ballet school but it had gone from being fun to horrendous pressure. I saw the adult professional dancers walking around living on cigarettes, coffee and anxiety and realised I didn't want that so at 12 I quit, much to my parents disgust. The following year and puberty hit and I developed scoliosis which my Dad also had but my Mum said it was because I'd quit ballet ie my fault despite it being genetic. I'm 52 now and those comments still hurt.

      Yep. Kamila Valieva. The IOC punished and banned Kamila, but her coaches and team doctor all got away without any consequences and are just training new, younger girls with the same cruel methods (probably doping them too). Tutberidze and team are known for starving the girls as well, and there are articles about Russian figure skating coaches putting athletes on puberty blockers to keep them small. I don’t believe that Kamila, who barely even went to school, knew what trimetadizidine was and used it knowingly. Her team doctor, who has been caught doping athletes before, is surely the one who planned everything, along with Tutberidze.

      @@d.n.8919 also lesser known, but Daria Usacheva (hope I spelled that right) who broke her hip and never competed again. Evgenia who can’t twist her back to the left anymore. Aliona who broke both of her arms and ended up with heart problems from the strict training. Alina who had a foot injury so bad during training for the olympics that Eteri refused to look at her foot. Yulia who ended up with anorexia so severe that she had to be hospitalised for 2 months. And all of them retiring before they even turned 20.

    Welp, leave it to the Soviet Union to turn gymnastics into a literal torture chamber. To the point of her being thankful to become quadriplegic. The thought of these gymnasts missing landings on concrete floors sounds SO painful and dangerous. At the same time, however, it seems like the rest of the world practicing this way too…? Spring floors weren’t officially added until 1979. I would imagine Romania, being a former Soviet bloc state, probably had very similar training practices.

    Whats sad is Elena isn't alone in the abuse she endured. This happened all across gymnastics, I mean look at Keri Strug. Underneath her heroic display of perseverance was a young woman brainwashed into believing she had no other choice outside of continuing her vault clearly injured and risking even further injury. Only recently has the abuse within the sport been realized

    Stop comparing Simone to Elena. The 2 situations are completely different. Simone was an American gymnast which means she has the power to quit the sport, refuse a specific element, and walk out of the gym. Elena was from Russia, a Communistic Country, does anyone here understand Communism?

    • @st.6959

    • @emilytallent9677

      Elena’s situation was not 100% due to Russia being communist, you know. Russia is a dictatorship like North Korea, they control their athletes heavily. But you can still be a communist country and not have a dictatorship and oppress your citizens. Communism doesn’t automatically have to equal dictatorialism and oppression of the people.

    With every landing, she cracked her fibula and tibea further apart. She would've been safer if one of leg bones would've broken through the skin, (greenstick fracture) then there would be NO WAY they could've forced her to do anything.

    • @Palominohusky
      @Palominohusky 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mamaofaWrestler. A fracture where the bone breaks through the skin is a compound fracture, a green stick is where the bone only breaks half way through, more often in children.
