    Those are transitors. They have GOLD INSIDE THEM AND THE SILVER COATING IS SILVER.. YES you are smashing up and throwing away GOLD AND SILVER FOR COPPER.. GOOD LUCK!

    You need to research circuit board letters. C is for CAPACITOR. R RESISTORS RV VARIBLE RESISTORS D is DIODE.

    It's years ago I fiddled with small components like HDMI connectors manually by hand. Now I solely process them in batches of not less than 50 kg. A run through pyrolysis and all plastic/labels/lacquer is gone. The metal part is then melted and cast into flat slabs. Those slabs are used as anodes in one of my electrolytic cells for removal/recovery of copper. Afterwards the remaining metal (cathode slime) is processed for gold recovery. I never use "expensive" acids for removal of base metals; free electricity from old solar panels is the way to go if you want profitability. You just recovered less than 10 % of the value of your Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). I make US$ 250,000 a year processing PCBs in my garden shed. I spend less than 1/10 of the time on each board compared to your antiquated way, and I recover 100% of the values. First the most valuable fraction is recovered: The solder. A two step hydrometallurgical process removes all traces of solder. From lead solder the Tin and the Lead are recovered. From lead-free solder the Tin, the Silver, and the other metals are recovered. Remember, Tin is worth four times more than Copper! I never waste time cutting off any electric wires attached to the board. After chemical solder removal, all wires and all electronic components simply fall off the boards. These components are easily sorted into individual types for further processing in separate batches of each type. All wires and all components containing plastic are then pyrolyzed (in separate batches), yielding Raw Pyrolysis Oil, for later cracking into free petrol/gasoline for my car, free diesel for my truck, and free fuel oil for my metal melting furnace/free heating of my workshop. After the pyrolysis step the metal parts of the electric wires are processed, without wasting time cutting off any of the connectors. They are melted and then electrorefined. The same process is done with the majority of all the other metal components (some require other treatments), thus resulting in full recovery of all base metals, as well as silver, gold, platinum, palladium, ruthenium, tantalum, and lesser quantities of many other metals. Finally, the bare boards are processed for Bromine recovery, and final separation of the thin Copper layers/the Glass Fibers. Virtually every value of any PCB I get is recovered; nothing is lost. I process tons of PCBs a year. Picking off a few of the components by hand will never make your rich. Markings on PCBs are fx.: C = capacitor. R = resistor. D = diode. Most diodes contain a little gold, and trace amount of valuable REEs (Rare Earth Elements). Tantalum capacitors are always marked with a + (plus symbol), as they must be installed correct (only one way).

    If you are processing your hdmi is acid to get the gold then remove the outside and put the rest in acid and remove the plastic later.

    dremel works good, then unhook the ends and unwind the wire, sometimes it works great sometimes not, on the good ones you can just hold the wire and drop the rotor and it unwinds itself.

    Very good explanation. Thank you. I think I mentioned burning them in a outside wood fire makes retrieving the copper easier and also makes those little teeth simpler to get off the commutator, although I feel uncomfortable doing it that way. We are very lucky here in Australia as the scrapyard pays electric motor price, which is over a $1/ kg or 50c +/ lb as is! So I just take in untouched and clean the windings from the stator. Really appreciate the information that you provide with your videos.

    Seems like a ton of work for very little return. How much time do you think you spend on each motor? I think I would turn in as an electric motor and be done with it.

    • @buddybelew7691
      @buddybelew7691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The recycler in this area bought up all the other recyclers so only get $0.15 cents a lb for motors I've got all the time in the world to tear down. One's time is worth differently to each individual. You don't want to tear down that's okay each to his own.

      @@buddybelew7691 yeap - there is no right way to do anything. Every scrapper has their way of doing things and every other scrapper tells them why their way is better. Do you and enjoy the process. I have a handful of those in garage and did not realize they would be that much work to get apart. Very eye opening video! Keep after them and happy hunting.

    Do you have a video explaining how you reverse electroplated for the gold? I don’t have the space to use a ton of chemicals to isolate gold but what you do might be a possibility for me.

    • @buddybelew7691
      @buddybelew7691 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry I don't, but what I learned I learned from TH-cam. Just type in reverse electroplating gold. I will say I use a computer power source instead of a battery charger, cause you use different voltage for gold than silver.12v for gold, I think 5v for silver.

      The recyclers I have just classifies No1 and No2 copper. No bare bright or anything else. No doubt he's ripping people off, but have to drive 100 miles to get fair market value.. so what cha gonna do right. So I mix them in with no 2 that has solder on some. I guess it varies where you're from.
