lol, i heard your cat and it made step outside to see what my cat was meowing about. great timing, i've got about 20 flat screens stripped and all the circuit boards/strips are sitting in tubs, more silver pins than anything but they've all been saved, and another 20-40 flat screens still ready to be scrapped.
Well the pins aren't solid gold but gold plated. You can see where the pins were dipped in gold. There are gold test kits you can buy but that would be incredibly time intensive. By experience you'll learn by color the difference in gold and brass . And if I have any question betweenthe two, I throw it out.

Might be. I learned to keep a can of RAID by my workbench just for that. Some of this stuff comes from some nasty places lol
