The Quran & Honey: Healing through Heartwork (Q 38:29, 16:68)
On the last day of the Heartwork Retreat* in the Scottish countryside, April 2024, Dr. Sohaib Saeed was invited to share a roadmap for "Healing through the Quran". His introductory comments centred on an important ayah (Q 38:28):
{A Book which We sent down, full of blessings, so they would ponder over its signs, and so people of intelligence would take heed.}
This is followed by reflection upon Surat al-Nahl and its precious ayah about the bees (16:68). Make sure to benefit from the resources at: quran.com/calendar and quranreflect.com/

Does Surat al-Isra’ Predict the Fall of Zionism?
มุมมอง 17Kปีที่แล้ว
Classically, the opening of Surat al-Isra' (17:4-7) has been understood to refer to two events prior to the Quran, in which Banu Isra'il became tyrannical and were defeated by powerful forces by the will of God. However, a number of modern scholars - such as Shaykh al-Sha'rawi (1911-1998) - have argued that the second event of corruption refers to Zionism and its awaited downfall. This idea has...

    Salam Dr. Sohaib Saeed and to the wider Ibn Ashur team. I have come across the subject of Qira'at and don't understand how it fits with preservation. Here's a summary of what I understand. The Rasul SAW delivered the Qur'an in 7 ahruf (indefinite number) that then got collapsed by the Uthmani Mushaf. All of the remaining readings that conform to the Mushaf are considered valid, that also have a sanad. This eventually became the ten canonical. But this is what confuses me, did Rasul SAW really recite that many ways? Malik and Maalik in Fatiha is believable, especially because it's not present in Surah al Nas (at least in the ten canonical) showing that it's not random. But some of these other are so minuscule but numerous. Dr. Sohaib Saeed I suppose knowing this mentioned that he doesn't insist they need to have been said by the Rasul SAW...I'll be honest I was awestruck with that. There's so many verses saying the words are from God, leaving no room for human speech (69:40-43 for example). I would like to understand how Dr. Sohaib Saeed understands that, or our medieval exegetes understood it. On top of that Marjin Van Puten said that there's a lot more that have a valid sanad, so are there more than ten that can be canonical? Another thing, Arabic 101 has made a video entitled "Do Qira'at Cause Contradictions in the Quran? | Arabic101" where he takes Surah Al-Isra (17:102) where Musa (AS) is speaking to the Pharoah and trying to take the "'You have already known" (Hafs) and "'I have already known" (al-Kisāʾī) Qira'at and unify them into one narrative - claimed that Musa (AS) said both of these things but they were on two separate occasions. Obviously this reasoning really collapses once you investigate other stories. This landscape is dire, because that channel is supposed to be an Arabic study channel, so if he's confused then I'm finished. So to recap: 1) did Rasul SAW really recite that many ways? If not how isn't that just human words contaminating the Qur'an? 2) are there more than ten that can be canonical? 3) The last one isn't a question but a notification of what's going on with Arabic 101, idk if you can perhaps partner with him or just make a video clarifying for us confused layman.

    terima kasih for sharing this😊😊 I've never finished reading the Quran with translation cover to cover yet- but almost everyday everytime I remember the Quran usually more than 5 times/day normally when I feel stressed/worried- I will randomly scroll random surahs then random ayath(with translations) and get some benefits from them. If the ayaths' translations confuse me at some point or send some doubts in my heart-I will refer to Ibn Kathir Tafseer to read that ayath's tafseer(what it really meant to say)-if I'm not satisfied,then I'll find if there's tafseer of that ayath in Bayyinah YT Channel,or Indo/Malaysian reputable asatizah's YT recorded lectures. It's not much,but it keep myself in check(in terms of feelings and conducts), I think I've benefited a lot from this habit(started few years ago). As someone who've performed ruqyah on myself for illnesses-I also get benefits from the fundamental ruqyah ayaths-blow on water or recited on myself(learned from Sh Muhammad Tim Humble course). Thank you again for sharing this😊😊

    Many people have reverted to islam after reading a translation. Allah decided that His words penetrated their hearts, even in form of a translation. I think, if we have to do everything the most correct way, decided by the scholars, we will never do things right. Even Allah doesn't expect perfection. Even known qaris of quran are being criticized for not reciting the way the ulamah have dictated. In this proces khushoo' goes to waste; the connection it is all about, goes to waste. That cannot be right. Of course, we have a religion of clear borders and guidlines. But I feel sometimes we get lost in the jurisprudence while neglecting the higher priorities. I completely agree with your intro.
