I've made this channel for tools & tips of the AoM Editor, and with Retold coming, I'll be covering the Editor over there as well! I will also be playing AoM games & custom scenarios on stream, whether mine or someone elses. Hey do you know how to set up lightning ? When you try to edit a preset and save on retold it flickers and gets bug with everthing
the best course of action would be to save the modified preset, and apply it in the scenario as a trigger. "Render Lighting" for Retold.
@@Darkantos-AOM But I can't save the modified preset, it bugs the game. When try to *save as* modified preset, some white flickers freezes
how do you zoom out so far? am I able to do this in retold?
the zooming is done through the camera editor, you can do it in Retold's editor, or through triggers for a scenario.
Hello, Please bro teach me how to put upgraded unit in editor ? i am tired to see armor unit
Hi there, all units upgrades need to be done through triggers. Set the tech status to which upgrade you want (heavy infantry, heavy cavalry...etc), and ofc the condition needs to be "always".

I suggest adding some small background music when narrator speaks or when there are cinematics, it makes the more... enjoyable.

Also if you do require voice actors for this, hit us up I am sure more than a few of us would jump in. I usually do Wiseguys but I would definitely have fun with this. Did you do all of them yourself, or is it like AI altered in the beginning and then variants of yourself?
so I have already done this campaign on original AOM, fully voiced by myself (over 1600 voicelines, some of it got better with time). And on this retold remake, as you mentioned, the intro voice is AI. The rest is me (unfiltered). I'll definitely ask for help, especially for 3rd characters that don't have a consistent appearance. You can check gameplay videos on this channel for other scenarios with my voice :) Appreciate the offer !

How to edit campaign levels? In okder version i just went to editor and load but there is no such options anymore

Hey ! I've been trying the editor after watching your videos, I have a map almost ready on AOM: R. But now, how do I upload the map to be able to play it with my friends ? xd
Do you know how to create a dedicate server ?
Just started playing AoM Retold and it has basically the same editor... when you mentioned the "Unit Type In Area" condition - do you know how to apply an effect ON THOSE units that were detected by the condition? Example if some random enemy units enter area around my Hero unit, for each one of them I apply few effects... such as a SFX, VFX and a debuff effect of some sort.... etc. I haven't seen a way to do this thing - I may resort to XS scripting I encounter a similar issue if I want to further filter the units in the area... what if I just want to apply an effect to every Unit in area EXCEPT certain heroes. How do you even go about that without creating 1000 new triggers for every unit type...
Does xbox not have access to mods or scenerio editer?
I wouldn't know, since i run on the PC version :/ maybe check an FAQ ?
Great campaign and great storytelling. I really like the RPG elements added in the game. The boss fights are absolute perfection. However, it would be great if we could skip cutscenes. I mean, it's ok the first time playing it (cause i'm interested in the story) but it's really a hassle if you want to replay one of the scenarios and have to wait for the full cutscene. Also the last scenario, the infinite corridors one was a nice idea but i feel it was way too dark and had too few RTS elements in it which are, after all, the core of this game. I get it was in line with the story, but maybe more boons with visions or fire having a wider range for vision should have been changed, but that's just my take. Overall, great scenario, can't wait to see how the norse ones turn out. Also, if the retold also has an editor thingy, will you stop making these and switch to retold scenarios? Or is it too far in the future to say right now?
Thank you so much for the feedback ! Cutscenes can be definitely be skippable. To be honest im just not used to implement that possibility. And doing so over all previous levels will take time. (Time i do not currently have unfortunately, because im trying to finish ARC2 before the release of Retold). But will definitely keep it in mind for the future ! The whole point of the corridors is eternal darkness, that feels rewardign whenever it lights up :D. Also, there are glimpses of lights every here and there. Especially if you use the Devourer Shades as torches (like in the video :D) I do understand that the last 2 levels were heavily RPG oriented, believe me couldn't implement any RTS mechanics if i could and still make it relevant to the story. But if its any relief. The last 3 levels of the Arc 2 (the ones im working on currently, are all pure RTS style with a twist as always ! Also definitely not in the future to say right now, im looking forward to Retold's editor to camp it for hours before i start working on Arc 3 there :D (indeed the norselands :D). Feel free to drop by the discord in the link. I would love to have ambitious people from the community to help me out pitch some ideas and fix unecessary things. You are very welcome :))

triggers still get me confused, since some of then don´t like to work on multiplayer or work in a weird way XD
Gadget visible should fire if the UI gadget with the matching name is visible. That should be usable as a scenario maker by inspecting the UI files to see the different gadgets and names. Probably rarely useful though...
yea i think it was probably used to test the game's interface back then, but aside i don't see any real use.

I like how they stick with all the original AoE and AoM only upscale and adjust some things but the core game remains the same. Totattly worth buying and re-play whole game. Only one remastered game which is fuck up is the WC3 .... at what all we want for WC3 was only do this job as they do for the AoM.
The more i see how much effort was put into this (remastered sound tracks, few quality of life changes...etc), the more I realize how lazy Blizzard was with Warcraft 3, how could one mess up something as simple as a remaster.
