PI Baja 5B Custom tubular chassis that never happened! Was it strong though? We made this video over ten years ago, Vandal made a tubular chassis/cage and we bashed it hard for testing, Keep in mind this was hitting hard with weight not hight. What an awesome cage and a massive shame it never came to manufacture. 33cc custom HPI was insanely strong. Enjoy a remixed video from our archive :)

How do u install the active wing so it will activate simultaneously when you get throttle and when you break… I have the infraction V2 still trying to figure it out
@@frankovance2163 hi, you will need a radio that allows you to channel mix the throttle brake with the channel you have the wing on, then if the radio allows you need to set end points, a curve and even a delay like mine. I have a small delay so that the care brakes before the wing pops up, the curve that I set shallows out the wing as in increase power to the rear wheels.
@@vortexrcuk I have dx5 pro
Nice but if the radio just performed as advertised, this wouldn't be necessary 🙄
It performs as advertised but for cars hitting over 200MPH, the advertised range isn’t safe or even close to enough! Hence anyone who speed runs running range extenders :)
@@vortexrcuk Yes, I was speaking more towards general use. The range of this radio is no where near advertised (at least for a lot of people)
@@jerryvolpini7987 not had any problems TBF as I use it without the range extender as well as with. This is a gen 1 but IDK. Still love my Futaba’s and Noble but for the money, this I feel is still a mega radio.
@@vortexrcuk I love mine as well (Futaba fan boy though, lol), I use it for no prep where a strong signal is vital. Still, a LOT of problems with this radio and Radiolink has done little (if anything) to address issues. Anyways, great job on the extender! 👍
Sorry did you mean #fmc 😜🤭
Nothing left from the FMC, all Furitek, Treal etc, just the shell that’s FMC :D
What motor?
As quoted, Furitek Godzilla motor :)
Love the video!! I just picked up my infraction v2 sold my v1 yesrs back and regretted it since lol cant wait to get that wing and start doing some speed run modifications!! Hope you're having a blast ripping that beast!!! 😁
She is awesome, they are awesome. Enjoy yours :) check out Scorched parts for awesomeness, M2C and Vitavon. We are going to dig this truck back out and change the motor and ESC to a TP motor and Castle MMX8s for giggles, will chuck a Roto Lock motor mount in again :) as said enjoy and glad you liked the video.
That’s gonna be awesomeness
is it rc??
Yes, RC, fully proportional with Gyro. We will unbox a couple in a video soon
That ramp art frame is sick I’ve got one too😎
It’s nice for sure but a little better anodising would have been good. It has transformed the truck into an utter monster :)
It truly is awesome, my only advice building this is, use a servo saver as Reef99 servos have chocolate gears and a couple jumps mashes them.
Guy be sending commands to the space station! 😂
Radio controlled space station haha
How do you order one, I went to the website on your recommendation, cannot figure out how to order one. No prices.
Hey man, I’ll quickly look for another link so you can order, Ali Express does them for sure
I just posted another couple links :) enjoy.
Nice vid, you shouldn’t connect the cable the way you do, it puts a lot of straint on the contact. Look in the manual there must be some guidance there how to connect without puttin straint on the contact.
Thanks for the tip!, I actually have a small D shackle to attach the loop from the Umbilical to the hole on the tail fin, just didn’t for this test as I knew it wasn’t going to go far. Great you noticed :) and many thanks for reaching out. Just waiting on weather to go back out.
@@vortexrcuk just didnt want you to loose the drone. Still happy with it? What’s good what’s bad?
@@Ruzkig it’s a good little rig, I work in deep see exploration so it made sense to get this. It’s very intuitive if you have flown drones. It’s not a perfect ROV as you can’t strafe sideways or roll the ROV but for exploration and inspections, it’s great. It is heavy for its size but well built. The thrusters are very easy to replace if damaged and the arm is fairly easy to fit and remove. I did have to adjust the arm as I felt the tether to control the arm was too tight when screwed into the ports/Sockets. The interface is easy to read but I really time navigation under the water is required or you will get disorientated. It’s a good thing that the tether is also directly connected to the handset instead of having to worry about a WiFi signal dropping out. You can also hard wire your phone to the handset and even run a screen via HDMI. You can also transmit visuals to other people’s phones during inspections.
@@Ruzkig have you got a ROV/Drone?
@@vortexrcuk no, but I’m looking into buy one.
How have you got on with the GRPS? I bought a set of the xm7s and within 30 seconds the rubber flew off one rim.
So far the GRP’s outlasted the Hoons, I even put the GRP’s on our Typhon which was way way more powerful and burned them out until liquid (in one of our videos available on the channel) GRP’s should be good for around 150MPH as proven by quite a few speed guys. There is some research saying that if you get tyres hot, it affects the glue and then the tyres explode off of the rims. For now for us, they have worked well.
@@vortexrcuk I must have had a bad batch. I don't even think I went over 20mph
@@RizzyDRC it’s been known in the past that some fail for no good reason so it’s very possible that you just had a bad experience
Cool video.
Thanks :)
Huina makes a wannabe Cat D11. They sell it as 1:16th but it is almost a perfect 1:32nd.
Thanks for the info, we shall take a look :)
Better to build kit. esc motor tires body all under 500 and all eBay

Awesome ❤
You can balance them cheap right on the car! If you have anything 2x4 put them on the front give it a spin the heavy side will be down add your clay to opposite. Clean spot w alcohol or clay will fly out not stick
Absolutely. I used to do that when racing. Now this does things a little more accurately for my speed cars as they can hit over 200 MPH, the forces are intense with the type of RPM. Old scool is good scool though :)
Lol. Balaced is balanced no mater how fast it spins.
@PHILLIPfry2010 Balanced is balanced indeed but, it’s more important on our speed cars as our wheels already explode at high RPM, Hence, I feel they need to be perfect to give the best chance of surviving. The thing with this device is it tells you how much weight to put and exactly where to put it, if there is friction in the bearing on the gravity ballancer, it will miss fine adjustments meaning the wheel isn't actually as balanced as one thought. Anyways, flaws in both systems, but both work. I've already tried to trick this unit with adding weight to unbalance the wheel and it picked it up and corrected it. Again, there are many ways to do something and what anyone does depends on budget and practicality.
I mean…. You can do this with a manual balancer… i doubt this is any better… and those are like $10.. maybe $25 for a good name brand one…
Yep, you can but this has worked out more accurate and less faff, as I said in the video, not for everyone. If on a budget, use gravity, if you have cash to flash, this is for you :).
Didnt appear to do much lol
I thought the same but I deliberately unbalanced some wheels and it picked it up immediately and shows me how to rebalance them so in short, it definitely works. When I start skimming my foams I think this balancer will come into its own.
Bought the ftx version now my course is to easy lol
I’ll have to have a look and see if there is any difference between the FTX and Abisma. I noticed the radio for the Abisma is the same as Furitek supply. Feeling they are all from the same factory maybe?
@vortexrcuk yep I think they are remote with dip switches and 2 speed same as fms crawler rc's the v1 controller esc its out doing my scx24 and fms max smasher that I turned into a crawler. 👍🏻
@Rc_Alex_76 ah so the FTX is 2 speed like the Max Smashers (Smasher) the Abisma is only single speed.
Arrma Vorteks haha 🤌
A bit of cutting haha
What’s that blue tool mat?
Hi, this is a silicone solder station mat, I use them for my small builds, here is a link on Amazon :) amzn.eu/d/7I3wjXs
The tire was so out of round that balance won't matter. Also, you have two different locations with weight that will essentially cancel each other out. Seems like a gimmick to me. Thank you for testing it on here so I don't waste the cash.
Actually, I slightly disagree, my speed run cars can reach over 200mph, with that kind of RPM this does make a huge difference, if you are just playing, yeah, I can see it’s not needed. Have a good one
I love seeing tires with counter weights on them. I've found if you get a weight that is the weight of the difference between the two that are counter weighted, and place it in the middle of the distance between them. Then remove the 2 old ones and it'll balance, if it doesn't then something is wrong with the rim or tire.
Hopefully he has these back in stock soon. Your spot on about how fussy Scorched RC is about his quality control. He definitely make some of the best parts in the world. 👍🏻
Hey, Scorched parts are some of the best in the world for sure, I have three builds now with Scorched parts and still need more lol. Hopefully the parts are in stock for you soon! Reminds me, I need to have an order with them again lol.
Its junk in my experience
And what is your experience? Please share.
Did u test it with 1/8th buggy tires?
Hi, I haven’t as of yet but in the next couple weeks or so after I return from Australia, I will test with some banded 8th buggy wheels n tyres that I forgot I had from my Typhone TLR and will post a short.
Cool i might do this mod for my speedruns i already have the radio and i love it. But the base radio range is decent but not as advertised this mod seems like it could be worth doing.
Apparently 25km line of sight lol, should just about do it :) good luck man
@@vortexrcuk Although i can still drive 200 - 300m down my street and back still having control over my car so no big deal. I love my RC8X so simple to use, loads of adjustment options and has lots of expandability options. I love it so much more than my 4PM i had before it and may make it my main radio system soon.
Have to say, Radiolink has shown what is possible for such a small amount of money. Maybe the likes of Futaba might wake up
Looks great! Doesn't every rtr need new wheels and tires? Good video. Thanks!
Hi, glad you liked the video. For me the answer about changing wheels n tyres, for performance, yes most of the time the factory wheels n tyres get you going but don’t give maximum performance so we change them, for me though it’s also about making thing more personal. Nothing looks better than a new set of rims :)
Hey, nice vid. Did you have to use hex extensions? My Injora wheels touched the portal covers.
@@OOegel hey, glad you liked the video, in the end I didn’t fit extensions but trimmed the shell a small amount, this doesn’t have huge amounts of flex but does really well, you just had to be sure not to over torque the wheel nuts or the wheels will bind against the hubs.
RC Speed 3D? 500rpm? not that fast at all. The machine is an excellent tool to have, especially for racing and speed running, less vibrations = more efficient (I think). Brilliant video and thanks. Keep up the good work.
lol, glad this was useful, I can’t believe I said 500 RPM lol, I meant unloaded, tested to 500MPH. So yes. My bad, I will be shredding those RC Speed 3D tyres real soon.
where can you buy one in the UK?
Hi, I got mine factory direct. So I’m not sure right now as to where they are available. Amazon may be? I see some on EBay.
mini godzilla 7500kv i believe what esc?
Lizard pro from Furitek with a Tesla screen
This a fantastic idea! I can think of many applications for a long range surface radio.
Would love to see if 1/8th buggy tires would fit.
A wheel from somthing like a Typhon 6s would fit, because it’s for touring on road I haven’t tried it TBF.
@@vortexrcuk I think the Buggy ones have a slightly bigger diameter around 110mm. Didnt found any videos if these would work. :(
Buggy ones would fit, I’m away from the balancer for a few weeks but when I get back to it, I’ll buy some buggy wheels and try them on the machine, I did film fitting a few different brands of wheels n tyres to see how they were but didn’t include buggy rims. Watch this space :)
@@vortexrcuk Sure! I'm subscribed and waiting for it. Thanks for your efforts!
😂
You have to order the 17mm separately
Indeed and was ordered and now just received:)
What is the max diameter it can handle?
As this is basically for touring/Onroad cars I personally won’t be putting anything more than around 100MM so in short, nothing bigger than hoons, GRP, Contacts etc etc.
aaaand it cost a fortune.
Yes but price is always relative…. For those hitting 150 plus and losing a car that costs k’s, it’s not a big expense, for someone who’s not racing and just playing, yeah, I can see it’s expensive, yes you can get an old scool balancer where you just use gravity, it does the same thing. All in all. For me, it’s worth the experiment.
@@vortexrcuk you are right in that if its a high level racer cost might not be a limit, for us other hobbyist its the old way or dont be picky and skip the part of balancing wheels 😁
Interesting. Gimmick? 1/8 Truggy tires work on this?
Hi, I don't think this is a gimmick, pro racing has always involved balancing wheels n tyres, this is really designed more for 1/10, 1/8th on road cars, there are li.itations as to whT you can fit. Be ause we have so many different cars I have some truggy wheels n tyres and will see if they fit but as said, there are limitations as to what fits this unit.
Color me impressed 😳
All in all, feels, Works and looks like a pro tool :)
Omg. ty I was hoping to see this.
sory very slow
Thanks for your feedback! Wasn’t meant to be crazy, if you noticed, a lack of room. Cars been re build and good for over 150 now, waiting for Rossa
@@vortexrcukdon't listen to him he's just trolling cause he wishes he had the funds to build that monster up 😂. The typhon 6s is my first and only hobby rc and love it. Not much put into it as I don't have the funds 😂. It's a stock beast at least
@@deathbydeviceable everyone is entitled to an opinion lol. The Typhon is a wicked little car for sure. I’m a big fan of most of the Arrma 6s rigs. You wouldn’t recognise our Typhon now though, it’s a GT now and almost ready to be released to the wild for a bench test :) hopefully running at Rossa if work doesn’t get in the way :)
Nice brother! I got a hyper go 1:16brushless motor with a 3s 120c zeee and its so fast i wanna get more top end so i want bigger rims any recommendations i bought the 17mm hex adapter
Hey man, so, before going bigger on the rims, what ESC are you running? It may be a case of stepping up to 4s, more S, more power, also a couple teeth on the gearing can do loads:) guessing everything is factory?! Lots of choice on wheels n tyres, DBoot backflips, proline Badlands.
Great vids!! like all upgrades you have done to infraction. Not sure if you have already made vid where you go over all upgrades to infraction? also what wheels you recommend?
I have a few infraction videos now, a whole load of shorts that hint what I have been up too with modifying them. We will be doing more infraction videos in the future including running a 200 MPH plus build or two (if it lives long enough to reach 200 haha) as for tyres, for bashing I’m a fan of GRP, the goons are ok but expensive and don’t last long, GRP though being a lot cheaper last a good few runs and also look good and handle well. For speed runs we use Foams but that’s only after speeds of 120/150MPH and not for bashing. As for off roaders, this depends on scale, power and what you want to do. Basically don’t be afraid to try things out. Currently on our Arrma Outcast 1/5th scale I modified Proline Badlands and they have been epic.
cool vid what remote do you recommend
Hey man, glad you liked the video, at the moment after trying many radios I actually run a Radiolink RC8X. The radio isn’t the cheapest on the market but after using most radios from High end Futabas to Dumbo RC, the Radiolink is by far the best value for money, it’s loaded with features, there is an unboxing video on the channel. Prices have come way down online at such places as Ali Express. hope this helps :)
