Thank you so much for sharing your steak pudding, British style! My 88 yr old Dad has been bugging me to make this. No recipe to be found, so this is great! Definitely saving it for when I try to make it for him! My suet just arrived from England as we can’t buy it locally in Canada. Is there a trick to making the suet & flour mixture? That’s what I’m most worried about. I appreciate that you showed how to make the tent for steaming, too. My Mom used to cover her tins with a handkerchief, and I think she just added it to a large roasting pan in the over with boiling water half way up the sides (and kept checking the water to be sure it steamed properly). Have you heard of that way?

Saw the union jack with the writing on it and nearly threw up. Tablet is NOT a caramel bar. 😱😱😱. Then heard him say condensed and evaporated milk are interchangeable. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. So much wrong here. But thanks for the laugh mate.

This is just terrible English crap. Please find a genuine Scottish recipe and methodology. Tablet was made in Scotland before condensed milk was available. The word tablet relates to its similarity to a wax writing tablet when it is poured as a liquid into a shallow tray. It’s not from the brickwork on a sandstone building. Boy do you talk a load of bull.

I love your video. I just have one question with the eggs as when the war was on People had trouble trying to get certain ingredients like sugar and eggs unless you lived on a farm and had chickens you could get the eggs but I know sugar was much harder to get?

Absolutely not Scotch pies. First of all, they are NOT British, they are Scottish. When I lived in England, there wasn't anywhere I could buy one. Secondly, they are small, handheld, not full size family dinner size. If you are ever visit Scotland you'll find this out, a single pie is one person only. And finally...it was BURNT!!! Absolutely appalling video 😠

Dear Sir, you have an excellent show, I love the concept, the knowledge you have and your delivery, the the only issue I have is the union flag appears to be upside down, please could you check this. Thank you Important: the Union Flag has a correct way up - in the half of the flag nearest the flagpole, the wider diagonal white stripe must be above the red diagonal stripe, as Scotland's St Andrew's Cross takes precedence over Ireland's St. Patrick's Cross. It is most improper to fly the flag upside down.
