Wow, you have to have some chonees to drive that full speed around a track. The King sure did.

As long as the king was driving the Chrysler products, I was at the TV watching every Sunday God bless you and your family. I didn't watch so much after Chrysler pulled out a race link for dodging Chrysler pulled out a racing for a while but he'll always be the king to me.

What a natural story teller I could listen to the King read a menu and be intertained

I grew up in the North in my younger years but was addicted to NASCAR, Richard Petty, and Mopar at the ripe old age of 16 thanks to my Dad and the King. This was a great video that bought back many memories from the best time of my life. Thanks for sharing your stories Richard and Kyle.

imagine being an adult and seeing Kyle Petty roaring down the road in a 1970 Superbird. that is beyond awesome, especially with the history of that car.

When that thang -not thing, "THANG"- fired up... my god. What an awesome piece of NASCAR history and American Muscle.

That is a beast....would have been nice if he would have stepped on it a bit. Seems like a hand full with no power steering.

Can we put you two out one time with the current teams and cars. You get one of your old cars, say the 67 Plymouth, your chalk and blackboard. You get an old mechanic that's still alive, say Ray Evernham for example. What would happen? How would you do?

Why can’t these new cars get back to the pits after a spin or contact with the wall with flat tires? So a driver spins, resulting in a couple of flat tires and he is out of the race? Just doesn’t seem right to me.

The Plymouth Superbird and the Dodge Daytona where as badass as it gets.When they were in the test phases the test drivers put them through there paces and had them in the 200 mph range but said they were way faster than they were allowed to push them. Pretty amazing for 1970s technology.Chrysler engineering , the best!!
