EVERYTHING Added In The New SIGNAL Update For Space Engineers
The latest update for SE adds loads of NEW awesome blocks both for FREE and PAID in the new Signal DLC Pack. But, there's also many great other changes made to the game like stacking bottles/tools, reload indicator and more.
Combining the new Action Relay with an existing AI / Automated man-able fighter drone may mean adding 3+ Action Relay to trigger each of its existing flight mode Timer Blocks, but with my setup to change the Action Relay channel between flight modes, it can be done with just one.

    I just use 2 or 3 custom turret controllers. 1 per joint. Makes it work on vanilla. I play official only

    You didn't mention it in the video, so not sure if you didn't know or just glossed over it, but in Improvised Experimentation: after you right click to switch to the block's center of mass, you can then **hold left click and rotate the block using the same keys you'd use to rotate any block when you are placing it.** This makes lining up a block for a weld pad SO much easier and faster. Don't hold right click though because then when you left click you'll yeet the block! You also can do this without switching to center of mass first, but I have found extremely limited use cases for that, and it's typically easier to rotate a block from center of mass.     Just so you know, there are EXPANSE servers. I found out about two weeks ago. They are modded of course and they have all of the weapons and blocks and such like the movie, so you can build exact replicas of the ships, stations and weapons in the show. There is A LOT of people, factions AND fighting, for territories and such. These are HUGE dedicated servers so virtually no lag with massive battles and such. I wanna try it out but am too new to SE (about two months old) so I need some more experience in the base game itself before I try advanced stuff like that. Anyway, love the vids, so keep up the great work young man! 😇🫡🫡🫡🫡

    I am new to SE, about a month and a half now. I am a monkey pounding two rocks together. I have the imagination but lack the knowledge to do what I want. It is my lack of knowledge and understanding on the event controllers and timer blocks. I am watching tutorials and trying to learn them. I have several memory issues after suffering a TBI overseas, so it is more challenging for me. You did a fantastic job except for the cloaking device 😱😂🤣😅. If I may ask, how long have you been playing and from start to finish, minus breaks and rl, how long would you say it took you to make this amazing lil craft? The warning sound the sensors make is awesome as well and I would like to hear about that. This is all vanilla correct? I know about the scripts in the programmable block thing. But as strictly vanilla with no scripts, would this baby do everything else? Keep up the great work and the video editing and the tour and such were great as well.     That always happens. A newly created grid does a number on a ship attached to it. Solution: put an AI on the ship and have it active when you are detaching.

    I managed to make it to the point where it compiles successfully but i am not seeing where to add in the custom groups under main. when i pull that up it's blank. Any help would be appreciated because when i add in main arm and wrist it throws an error code when i compile it. NVM figured it out you have to have the keyboard selected instead of the LCD

    Better Player Movement mod allows slight horizontal movement when jumping. Good with normal jetpack, great with limited or no jetpack mods.

    Another mod to add to the list is Crew Member that spawn random NPC that will attack you if you start grinding their grid. Very nice Addition. Bonus : While on Satreus, Play with Dune Soundtrack in the back ground... Man that is on point !

    Only idiots who can't design to save their life need more powerful wheels. The wheel limit is there for a reason, to make you think about how many wheels you need. Promoting these "more powerful wheels" mods is fundamentally harmful to the rovering community. At the same time, the no vanilla painting mod and the planetary derelicts were both solid, novel suggestions.

    I was able to recreate this without issues yesterday, work perfectly. But today "Disable" Doesn't disable the crane functions. And is seems that when in ARM or Wrist mode, the Boom still tries to extend and retract. I've redid all the programing, labeling, and and speeds, sill same thing. The only thing that changes from yesterday was a restart. Anyone hear of this, I really don't want to grind down the whole crane only to find out the grid itself is glitched. Clang is annoying as hell sometimes

      It should fit through the gate with the pods closed, but there’s some weird behavior with subgrids. Last I tried the outcome was explosive. Like 1x Large Grid Warhead explosive. I might make a non sub-grid version that would be stargate safe.

      Thanks! I really want to focus on aspects that aren’t commonly covered, but are actually important for real survival gameplay. I’ve been loving the cargo crate for storing tools, weapons, food (Eat Drink Sleep) etc. And the corridor stowage is going to get a lot of use, too.

      Thanks! It’s my first update video, so I’m glad it worked out. This update has definitely been a win for timer block puzzlers. I love making feature-dense, versatile small vehicles, so I’ll definitely be experimenting with the action relays a lot more.

    Very nice, thanks for taking the time to put this out! I have been playing on the Scrapyard scenario for a few weeks now, I love it. Its such a nice, raw experience that requires you to actually use some thinking skills (Engineering sklls? XD) to add bits to your rover/base, access certain things without ruining them, and the player economy is big because parts are only available in some cases if they've been collected and stored. I love building trailers and hauling parts around, and having to modulate my rover to add power or storage. it gives you a very 'mechanic' feel to the game

      Start the scenario. Then exit and choose yes to save. Go to load game and it will be listed and you can edit it as you would any other save.

      I am so glad you made the mod! Thank you! It has totally changed the way I (and my friends) play Space Engineers. I recommend the mod to everyone who will listen. It always drove me nuts that we didn't have *hands* in Space Engineers, so I had to build a whole-ass ship just to move little small grid pieces around. I play with small grids a lot so I am using it *all the time.* Also, the fact that two or more people can manipulate a block and they actually help to lift the block if it's too heavy for one person is just *chef's kiss*. "Hey, c'mere and help me lift this giant piece of ****" XD Someday I want to get a dedicated server running with the mod to see how the performance is when lots of clients start using it. It is also my sincerest hope that this is a feature in Space Engineers 2.

    The same kind of crane (maybe with some slight tweaks to prevent it hitting the rover whilst turning) could probably be utilised to make a mobile (surface) drilling rig, right?

    Do you know if any combat mods like Assertive Combat and bunkers work with this scenario? I also think what would be great if theres a mod that adds cargo contracts so you can deliever cargo to other outposts on the planet

      Not sure if any combat focused mods would really suit the playstyle, since your blocks are so valuable you wouldn't want to risk much. But on the other hand, capturing a fully functional NPC ship would be quite the payoff. Afaik there's two options for cargo hauling contracts: 1 Vanilla Economy: You could probably play with the station spawn radius, or other setting to make sure stations only spawn on the planet, then accept some hauling contracts. The downside is the "cargo" is just a weightless inventory item. 2 Freight Contracts mod by Patrick: Has really cool cargo grids to move, but they're HEAVY and craning them with a rover would be challenging.

    Nice builds, always improving if keen add a half ladder block would be perfect to climb in it easily without jetpack.
