Thank you for the video Man Alone. I am very early in my solo gameplay journey (still in research phase) and I am particularly attracted to horror/cthulhu-like plots. This one looks like it's right up my alley :)

Have you watched upload? The memory viewing thing in that show is awesome, your story made me think about that. I would love to view my memories clearly on a tv that would be neat.

Guess I lied. I created another value of the Solo RPG retreat. In the past I would prepare games for scenarios I wanted to run for the gaming group. This includes painting miniatures and building terrain. Having to run a game is a real motivator. I no longer have that group to game with and motivate me to work on minis, scenarios and terrain. By setting dates for running a solo game for myself, a "Solo Game Retreat:, that target is almost as motivating as having to run a game for agroup. Thanks again Man Alone!

Big thoughts. I have become marginalized as I grow old. There are very few Listeners in my life. Being my own Audience is a powerful concept. Also, solo gaming creates New Stories. If you've hung around old people for longer than an hour you know they retell Stories. Over and nauseatingly over again.

I find it incredibly difficult to not absorb the emotions and thoughts of the people around me. This has caused me a considerable amount of pain over the course of my life, along with a lack of confidence in my own identity. The first part of the video, talking about how you center yourself in your own thoughts by focusing on memories and stories specific to you is very helpful, I think.

Came for the solo rpg. Stayed for the introspection.

My wife has memories of being 2. Very strong images. When she describes them her mother says that was from when she was 2. Her mom worked at a diner. The patrons would interact with my wife. She remembers the large refrigerator. Textures of the booths. When she recalls memories it is ALWAYS a story. That’s how she remembers things: it has to be told “then he said this” “and she said this”. Always from her perspective. I imagine that is how it impresses itself into the long term fabric of her gray matter. She would be lost without the story.

Anyone who's played, how 'adult' is the game? Suitable for a 12 year old? Read some lovecraft with my daughter on Halloween and she loved it, so thinking we could play this together.
