Can you reccommend a leather that can be embossed but the boot is floppy like mocassins?

On a cold winter day, I used my wife's hair dryer to warm up and work in mink oil & snow seal when restoring long-lost and dried out work boots. Note to self, heh: Don't use your wife's hair dryer. You will burn it out... . Great video! Just found same pair at bottom of storage bin where, somehow, water had gotten in. One boot totally moldy. Off to find the vinegar (but not the new hair dryer...).

Doesn't the vinegar make the leather stink after treatment?

Can this be done to leather from welding gauntlets? I have some leather from a set that I'd like to repurpose for cosplay.

Not very good and the reason is because you did not explain why you did not use the beeswax and whether it's an alternative to the weatherproof stuff you used. Confusing.

wish bees wax would have worked for me. It molded a few day later.

What do you do with the cast? How do you make the form from the cast?

When you use vinegar won't the boots now smell like vinegar forever?

Say Bohemond, you made a great video that spoke to me. SnoSeal was our go-to in the days before Gotex and honestly, I think the latter has not place on my feet in cold and wet conditions. Which leads me to you when I found my Danner Sundowner BackPacking boots stored in their box with mold forming. I always clean and dry my boots after use and was surprised to find the invasion. I have two questions: How long in the "sunshine treatment" and best ways to store shoes and boots?

Please wear a mask, the fine dust / mold is dangerous, it can get into your lungs, especially when exposed often when cleaning, take good care!

What ever did they do before sharpies?

Can you not just immerse in vinegar & hot water to clean mould /bacteria/smell on the inside too? My husband & son spend a small fortune on steel toecap work wear boots, throwing them away as soon as they start to look & smell bad & it's not good for the environment or our pockets! 😞

Thats awesome i just made some sockforms myself but since my feet are quite large so after i cut the form apart i cant lay it flat to trace itdo you have a trick for that? I thought about putting reliefe cuts in but then i would lose the extra surface area. Any tips would be much appreciated ❤️

May I use petrolatum wax instead of beeswax? it's cheaper and widely available, would it protect from the mould coming again?

I would be avoiding breathing all that dirt and mold while brushing the boots to start with. I’m all for mask and glasses/goggles and long sleeves. The spores of mold are extremely toxic to the human body.

My boots have a smelly mildew smell on the outside from being wet almost daily. Is there something I can put on them before this treatment to get rid of that smell?
