Oak Creek Wild Life Area: Testing Out The New Recovery Point
Eastern Washington Expeditions
The EWE Crew and I went up to Bethel Ridge for the day. We found some snow to play around in, and it posed as a little problem for the GMC Jimmy that went with us. I got to test out for the first time the new front recovery point on my Jeep.

      Depending on if you're going 12.50 or 10.50 on the 33s. You might need to trim your inerfenders (fender liners). But there's not alot involved in order to fit them. Your definitely going to rub when you flex, unless you get extended bump stops.

The control arms are Amazon special arms i got for cheap, not sure on the brand. And than a Ebay front trackbar relocation bracket. Ill be stacking up 2 or 3 factory coil isolators for free 1 inch spacer lift, just for some extra clearance.

      Theres not many places i can think of thatd be challenging for you, not to much rock crawling around here. There are some aggressive trails around rimrock, liberty and elby 4x4 areas . But its more of off camber, mud and small obstacles the worst being steep off camber hill climbs, nothing that would challenge your buggy to much.

      Id love to go 35s, but i wont be able to flex as much as id like without the tire in the fender ripping the tires apart. And the lack of power to push the bigger size. Im going to be getting a new set of tires hopefully this winter. Im debating on BFG KM3 or mickey MTZ P3. Either way, ill be deciding on 33s or 35s. Im only hesitant on the 35s because of my gears. Its a hole other project for regearing to 4.88s But of everything goes to plan, i should be looking at a 7inch lift and 35s with new gears and lockers in the near future.

      Yeah as much as I love hitting the trails and 4-wheeling I just have no desire to go that big with tires, aside from the fact that things really start breaking and horrible gas mileage, I feel like it takes away from being a good daily driver too much for me, but hey to each their own. Hey man this looks sick and I’ve just found this video today 10/2/2021 early this morning and it says this video has been up I think like 10 months ago so I could only imagine what it looks like now, but I have a Jeep that looks just like yours before your build and I could use some advice on what I want to do with mine, if not it’s cool man.

    • @cegadventures2492
      @cegadventures2492 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for checking out the video, i really appreciate it. My build has came along way since than, geting a little bit more aggressive. It all depends on what you want to do with your jeep. For me, i have been building my jeep to be a mid-core wheeler and overland rig that i can take anywhere i want without having much difficulty traveling over the terrain. I see alot of people build the zj to be a light duty rig, with a small lift and 31 inch tires and that seems to be one of the most popular builds for this jeep. Theres some crazy builds that involve lots of custom work that generally are just used for rock crawling and snowwheeling due to not being exatly "street legal". If you happen to have Instagram, you can check me out to see the current state of my build. And you can also private message me if you wanted to discuss possible build ideas and lift kits, stuff like that im always happy to help with.

      If im thinking of the right plug, Than thats just to tell you that your in 4-wheel or 2-wheel drive. It just controls a light in the VIC or display screen, It has no important purpose. I personally left it hanging unplugged, with my 231 theres no place to plug it in. Im not sure how to make it work if you did want to have it plug in.

    Never been off-roading in Washington, would you say the trails out there are generally wet and muddy? Or is there a dry period?

      I live on the east side of Washington so most of the trails i go on are really dry and desert like. Unless im snow wheeling in the winter. I dont get alot of rain on this side, so carrying a bandanna in the jeep helps keep me fom breathing dust. The further west you go, the wetter it gets. And it all depends on what season it is. Naches pass goes over the cascades so its wet on one side and dry on the other. It was October when we went so it was muddy most of the trail.

      That would have worked great, But I just had a reciver put on that works as a recovery point and radiator support. Ill be making a video about it shortly to show it off.

      Looks like a kinetic rope might be in the future.

      Yeah, our elastic strap did alright. But I thinks it's only like a 15% stretch when a rope is around 30% stretch. It would have been alot smother with a kinetic rope.
