Starfield Gameplay Tips & Tricks (16 Things I Wish I Knew)
I'm glad you mentioned AMP. You need to compliment this by powering through the entire Science Tree. The only skill you can wait on is Planetary Habitation. The crafting skills are essential especially pharmacy. Because if you're using stoma you need junk flush. Don't invest in Outposts until NG+9 waste of time. Stealing ships is a waste of time. Ballistic weapons are essentially bait. This guy is ok advice but he doesn't understand all the nuances of the game. Ask me anything and I'll tell you the correct answer.
Dead game lol
I don’t care if the game is good or not. I will play objectively lackluster games if I find them fun. I love Starfield while most don’t.
Im not familiar with people who rely on critics for gaming anymore. More often I see gamers in my circles that wait to see a yputuber or a streamer play the game if they are uncertain about it. Usually it's just this game looks cool it looks fun, I want to see some real gameplay and I want to try it for myself. At least in my circles we are interested more in these in constant development games, the never ending alpha games. Usually it's fun to play, the concept is interesting, but it's missing content. We buy in early play a tonne for 2 weeks, walk away until more content comes. We just rotate through the games we already own. AAA games rarely offer a game worth playing so much. We aren't gonna pay 80$ for a 20 hours of singleplayer content. I'll happily pay 260$ for a game.i play everyday for 3 months straight once a year for 6 years straight (tarkov). The dollar to hour ratio is extremely important. AAA games just don't compete on that time frame.
Appreciate your perspective! Totally agree that personal fun factor and dollar to time ratio are most important. Maybe I’m the only one left who at least is somewhat influenced by reviews lol!
Thanks for the video. I found this by filtering my search with "Upload Date: This Month". Only way to find Starfield content that isn't negative and/or outdated. Haha.
Wow exactly
This such a fun channel that renewed my faith in gaming! Always looking forward to the next video!
That’s so great to hear. Thanks so much!! More to come for sure :)
@@beepbooploot I'm here for it! Keep up the great work!
I tried and put down both Elden Ring and BG3 this year. I couldn't relate more. Great video
Nice, you're back! Thought provoking stuff, I like! I think back to when I started playing games. There was no bigger context. Just me and some random game I got from a friend or a shareware magazine. It's the most pure experience, because each game is new and I hadn't heard much if anything at all about it. I just started it and played until I was done. You talk about context in your video, or more specifically resetting it, by playing games that are less "acclaimed". I think it's really like being that kid again, being open to any game that crosses your path. A part of it is that game reviews are too serious these days, with high expectations and lofty awards and everything. I remember my favorite gaming magazine from my childhood. It was made by... other gamers like me. There was simply (way) less money involved, and because of that there was more room for passion. It was fun to read and the reviews genuinely made me excited to play. Now it seems like that passion is replaced by... judgement. Comparing game A to B to C. It's a numbers game: this many awards, that many overwhelmingly positive reviews, this amount of units sold, which one has the most? Comparison is the thief of joy. What it comes down to is: each game offers an experience. Does it bring you joy? You won't really know until *you* play it. That's all that matters. The rest is (mostly) noise.
Hey! It’s been a minute but pumped to be back on the Tube! Appreciate your thoughts here. I think you’re totally right! All the noise can make it really hard to let curiosity take the lead when trying out games and just seeing what works for you. Hope you’re currently playing some awesome games!
It's a good day when Beep Boop Loot posts
That’s so awesome to hear! Hope you enjoy the vid :)
Ok . I built two bases. I want the first base to send its materials to the second base..but all I get is 2nd base sends to the 1st. Help please. I subscribed
Hey! Thanks for subscribing :) can you confirm that both bases have a cargo link? If so, make sure that if you’re trying to send from Base A to Base B that the materials you are sending from Base A are linked to the outgoing crate at Base A Cargo Link. Then confirm that at Base B the Incoming Crate at the Base B Cargo Link is linked to a storage crate that’s appropriate for whatever material you’re trying to bring in. I hope that’s helpful! Let me know :)
I enjoyed this game wish the great circle was third person first person looks sickening besides shooting not for stealth and exploration
When it comes to contraband if your being a bad guy you can guy the crimson fleet without helping uc. Turn uc captain offer then walk towards mines on mars you be greeted by a man that friends want to met you. And have fun stealing booty
How about this game is terrible and don't play it.
Wish this game wasn’t a dumpster fire. Ubisoft really dropped the ball for this one
That’s crazy I’ve never even tried I find stealing is generally useless
Agreed! That's why this was so surprising when it worked :)
@ good looks this is gonna totally change the stealth areas for me
Very helpful video. Just hoping you have more like this 😂👍🏾
I am working on it, lol, thanks so much!
I would like some of this game to resemble GTA Online. Not necessarily the multi-player portion but the economics. Imagine: 1. Economics: You could build a ship selling company to rival the other 4, a mining company, security, or any other business you can create. Then having to manage it on different planets. 2. Imerseive outpost development. Think Sim City. Development your outpost to a city, planet, government, military. Possible wars, etc. 3. Options to build complex space stations as a home but involves Economics and civilization along with your government, etc. 4. Coop or multilayer to an extent. Players can build an empire together and choices of both effect Economics and outcome. 5. Something that you have to work towards. Getting enough people at outpost allows you to expand your company or government. Building enough x allows y. Something that will keep you playing.
Love all of this! A bit of business sim in the game would be awesome and, to your point, give you something to work towards longer term!
@beepbooploot Exactly.
My first playthrough was of a street rat that ended up growing an aurora empire in Tau Ceti. I made so many credits making aurora and using my skills to get chambas oil cheap. I would smuggle it to different worlds and eventually I upscaled the operation to crazy level. However, something specific happened to Andreja that cause his whole demeanour to change...... (Love this guide, subbed)
I love how this is possible in Starfield. And super curious what happened to Andreja… haha!
Super Quality of Life Tip: Cutter: Hold LT to charge the strength of your cutter. You’ll see the crosshairs move inward. You can hold it as long as you want. Super charge hits and blows up minerals almost in an instant. You are welcome! It helped me tremendously! -BrokageVR
Thanks for sharing. This is a great one!
This is a fantastic video. This game is far from perfect but there is a lot of fun to be had when you look for it. Having the attitude of “How can I have the most fun with this game?” rather than “How can I critique this game?” is great
Couldn’t agree more! Thank you so much for watching.
NG+6? Cool! Have you been to the universe that has no Constellation and Walter is a bad guy? I'm in it now, its so different, i really dig it!
Haven’t played around enough with NG+ but the iterations sound pretty fun!
Thanks for this channel! Was Starting to think everybody hated this game/company. I guess hate gets more clicks
I love this game! Theres a lot of youtubers that generate hate for Starfield/Bethesda. All because hate sells and gets you clicks. Its unimaginative and mean spirited. Wish they would go find something else to talk about
It’s interesting for sure! The good news is it seems heavily weighted towards more positive folks on my channel so that’s nice :)
I like setting player and enemy damage to the highest, so it becomes a "whoever shoots first" situation most of the time, and you'll get 6% bonus xp too lol
That’s a fun one! I’d definitely be the one who shoots last 80% of the time 🥲
Why does paid DLC still exist in 2024.
Woo!
Bessel III-B is a much better place for your first outpost. You can get Iron, Nickle, Aluminum, and Cobalt all in the same outpost. Vash Cowaii has a video explaining how to find the right spot and what you will need to get started. You can also find Helium 3 on Bessel III-A. Aside from that this video has some good advice.
Thanks for sharing!
I would like if players could build Interior walls and windows. like in the homesteads or bases we see in other outpost. Like the ones pirates have and maybe platforms like the one I see at civilian outpost.
Yes, additional building parts would be awesome!!
I don't know if you know this or you just forgot to mention it. But if you're within 200 m of your ship, you can access your ship's cargo hold from your pause menu and put anything that you don't need or heavy into your ship like resources
Great callout! That’s definitely worth adding to the list :)
Heh, the book misions are the only things I haven`t done yet on the list (NG+10). I`ll give that a go ;) To add someting for the list: goto cydonia -> residential district and find Renee. Do his quest and he'll give you someting cool to build in your outposts ^^
Love the intrigue here. Thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately the Shattered Space update broke my save, so until they fix it I can't play it. I was aboard the UC Vigilance in my save, but when loading it now I'm stuck floating in space outside Starfield's map
That is very frustrating :( hopefully you have sorted this out since commenting!
@beepbooploot I sent my save to Bethesda but the newest patch didn't fix it. I'll probably have to load a previous save instead at this point, which means losing 4 levels and having to do the ryujin quest line again.
Hey, Thanks for making good content. As a non gamer this video was insightful and worth the watch! Very informative! I gave it a shoutout on my blog!! toobdigest.blogspot.com/2024/11/starfield-beginners-guide.html?m=1
Man I just jumped back into this game after not playing for quite awhile and they've added so much QOL and stuff. Also mods are amazing. There's so much to this game, and I really feel like the reason so many people hate it is because they're ADHD af these days. This game rewards people who take things slowly.
I think it’s a slower paced game for sure and that can turn people off. Glad you’ve returned and are enjoying!
How does turning off subtitles help though?
It helps promote game immersion. I have them turned off and it allows me to focus on the characters, surroundings, and details more so than just reading text. It’s subjective tho, so try it out and see!
Similar to comment below, I am guilty of rushing the text and reading way faster than the performance which really breaks immersion. Your mileage will vary though!
My absolute favorite thing about Starfield is the AWESOME Ship Building and My most favorite thing about No Man's Sky is the SEAMLESS TRAVEL between planets and atmosphere. !!!
Both awesome features!!
I too turned off subtitles because my reading speed exceeds the character's talking speed and I was fast forwarding through lots of NPC dialogue - just sort of treating the NPCs like mission boards. Turning off the subtitles prevents me from doing this and requires me to actually pay attention to NPCs. 🙂
Bang on with how I feel!
I didn't know nix could steal coms from officers. Im like 60 hrs in and have just become A Bad Ass Sam Fisher without stealing coms. Ahh... Well i have trained yes
This one really changed my play style actually!
Just save prior too, and reload after getting caught and thrown out of places instead of losing the reputation and continuing to try again.
For contraband offload, you can go to the bar at red mile as well. Lady will buy it from you (has about 12.5K credits as well).
Nice, great tip. Thank you!
Me personally like Starfield more, because i am big Skyrim fan, and for me is the closest to it.
Fair point and makes sense :)
Fantastic video. Thank you for your efforts! Exactly the comparison I was looking for. Comparing the 2 biggest space exploration games I would definitely choose NMS for obvious reasons. Are there any other big competitors to these 2 games worth mentioning? I mean games with the same elements and aspects (open world space, planets, survival, crafting, building, combat.. etc).
A few other commenters have mentioned Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, etc. I can’t really speak to these as I haven’t played though!
I also love outpost bui;ding.
Great Data !!!THx
Would base building be better if you could just drop your resources into the transfer container and have them auto- sort into individual storage containers?
I am almost complete my first mod, I just have to finish the organic resources and I will have a set of unique storage containers, next step will be testing it.
That's a great idea and would definitely make things way easier!
This game was made for people who love to use their imagination and role play as you get lost in the world. I got hundreds of hours in this game and I'm not slowing down anytime soon. I've always said that a lot of the people who tried and it didn't like it was because they played it like a looter shooter and looter shooter only. Great video! I love seeing these instead of the algorithm chasing hate videos. You definitely earned a sub from me.
Thank you so much! I totally agree on the imagination/roleplay. The scale of Starfield really invites you to make believe and I love that so much about it!
Thanks for the video. Got a sub
Thank you so much :)
Cool game. It's different. It would all be worth the time if the game wasn't so unstable. Always crashing. I lost 90 hrs of game play on xbox series s. It's best to play straight through. don't waste time building, files will always go corrupt at some point.
Dang, that’s frustrating. I have 300 hours on my main save and no corruption issues but you’re not the first to mention this :(
I was ored tge first 5 hours and never came back
That was me the first time I tried playing but then I came back, started fresh, and fell in love lol.
