    It all depends what your mission is. The Cirrus SF50 is perfect for my wife and myself. We rarely fly with other passengers (other than our dogs). It fits in our hangar. Range is the same as the Phenom 100. Real operating cost is less than 2/3rds that of the Phenom 100 (service contract, fuel, insurance, hangar, ramp fees...). Also, do you have a minimum of 250 hours of multi time to fly single pilot in the Phenom? You'll need it in order to get insurance. I wasn't interested in having someone with me in the right seat every flight for 250 hours... And... your numbers are off. The SF50 carries 296 gallons of usable fuel. Our empty weight is 3,460lbs.. Payload is 2,340lbs -- way more than your SR. TAS in an SF50 is 310KTAS.Yes, the service ceiling is 310 -- which gets you over most of the weather most of the time. If anyone is flying 1,275NM in zero wind conditions (Cirrus marketing at their best), they're lying to you, or not landing with IFR reserves. 1,000NM is a good number... or better yet, landing at 3 hours or so. We've made it from Portland to New York in one stop, but with a really strong tailwind (GS of 455 knots for a portion of the trip). East coast to West coast is absolutely a 2 stopper. Remove the rear 5 seats and you have a Honda Odyssey van. We've carried leaf blowers, shovels, weed wackers... all kinds of stuff that you would never think of taking in a Phenom. We spent a lot of time looking at the Phenom 100 and the SF50 -- and yes, there is no contest in the ramp appeal contest -- the Phenom wins hands down. But, for versatility, economy, mission requirements, serviceability, training, sales network... the Cirrus SF50 is an outstanding aircraft. Just my experience and opinion. And... my wife was absolutely on board with the purchase of the SF50 when she learned about the parachute system and especially Safe Return. Happy wife. Happy life! We can't wait to see what the upgrades will be for the G3. Range? Service ceiling increase? Speed? It's coming.

    Phenom 100??, check Piaggio P180 avanti, its twin turboprop with 400kn and FL410. @FlyWithOwen have some videos with that plane. and pls add "time to cruse level" time in charts. On short flights that have a impact on speed and fuel economy.

  • @bartoszskowronski
    @bartoszskowronski 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

    what's a time to cruse level? when your fuel economy is showed, and also cruse speed. short climb time can be more important than better speed/fuel burn, especially on short flights.

    I would urge you to hire a consultant before you pull the trigger on your next aircraft. The old adage “you don’t know what you don’t know.” The information you’re using to make your decision seems to be a collection of the sales/marketing best case scenario facts, which, although technically true, seldom match reality.

    Most of this analysis is incorrect. The Cirrus cruises at 311kts and burns 55 gallons per hour at cruise. It holds 296 gallons. That’s similar to the 850 in the table yet somehow the 850 magically goes an extra 600 miles. The Cirrus avionics also is not G1000, it’s a variant of the G3000.

  • @BonanzaPilot
    @BonanzaPilot 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The Cirrus Jet is probably the only option that would be safe for you to fly single pilot without a large amount of mentor time/ insurance required second pilot. Insurance is probably going to be a big driving factor to what you'll move into. I'd also put the M600/700 on your list. The planes you are looking are wildly different in purchase costs and operating costs. You really should have someone who is a professional in part 91 ops consult you

    things you have missed most is Landing/takeoff distance and Gravel and ruff surfaces. You can pretty much land the PC-12 almost anywhere in a 750 meter strip... and also the ability to remove the back seats and even carry 2 full size motorcycles on board ...

    I am not a pilot. I'm an aircraft mechanic with over 4 decades of maintenance history, which includes both the Eclipse and most recently the Cirrus. I'll agree with some of the points you made. From a wrencher's perspective, I'd go with Cirrus over the Eclipse. The challenge of weighing the the flight needs over the operational requirements is not easy to navigate, but I'd suggest too either way you go, from a light jet perspective, won't be a bad choice either way. I do think your maintenance costs for the Eclipse may be slightly higher.

  • @stuarthutt3740

    Start with the mission: Number of passengers plus pilot, range plus reserves, field length going into, altitude hot/high requirements. Operational Empty Weight: All published ranges use too low an empty weight. Find reliable OEW's by calling operators. MTOW minus OEW = useful load available for payload and fuel. FAA operation: if the operation is commercial different regulation will be applicable versus private use. Pilot in Command: will the person be insurable and safe in a twin jet? Time to climb: the Cirrus has poor time to climb and the Epic 1000gx starts at 4,000 fpm. Other notes: the prices for the Epic 1000 at 2m is for the early aircraft not certified for flight into known icing. If you want a bathroom it is the Pilatus. If a jet the Phenom 100.

    As for get the vision jet, it's a flop. Go check out other videos that show its true speed. It only does 300 in a steep dive. If you're going to be traveling less than 1000 miles on a regular basis and have more than 4 people, plus luggage, then start looking at older twin turbines with bathrooms. They're less than $1M, and the speed is close enough that the actual time difference doesn't matter. You can invest the difference, and that'll pay for the maintenance. You can even upgrade the panel to what you want. We'll see if you're really making a business decision or just wanting to waste money.

    You need to seek guidance from a pilot mentor. The vision jet DOES NOT have more payload than a PC-XII. If you look at the Pilatus in person you will see it’s not a 6 seater like the vision jet kinda” is. And where did the phenom 100 come from? If that’s your budget then why look at turbo props? Totally different field. You’re comparing apples, to oranges, to acorns. Best of luck brotha, be safe!!!

    PC12 and TBM don’t require type ratings and annual recurrent training like a jet would. Only other factors for the turboprops would be what insurance requires. Turboprops would still be the more cost effective option on maintenance and training.

    A used Vision Jet is 2M and a used TBM 850 is 2M. But the VJ will be built in 2018 and less than a 1000 hours, a 2M TBM will be a 2006 and have 3,000 hours on the plane. You will probably want to spend $200,000 upgrading the avionics of the 2006 TBM.

    Vision jet man, don't cancel your order. For me, if average you fly 3x a week, that's 150x a year. In 5 tears you will fly 750times. For me who just planning to learn how to fly, that's alot of flying. And that parachute IS A BIG SAFETY in my mind. It's much more important than fuel consumption,max load, max people, feature, speed etc. SAFETY is 90% on why for me cirrus is better

    Very smart to do these comparisons. If full fuel payload, speed, fuel economy and maintenance is really important, then there is really only one choice, the Epic. If you want speed and bathroom but still keep costs down, then consider a Piaggio. The Cirrus jet is if you are the only one flying and don't carry anything else, kind of like a toy. All the other planes are good but fall short to these 2 planes. The Piaggio will cost more in maintenance but fly incredibly fast with great fuel economy up high.

  • @assetinvestco5820
    @assetinvestco5820 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Thx for the great videos and info. I'm very surprised that you Did Not include the TBM960 in this video as it is very comparable to the Epic but can be configured with a lavatory/toilet. Turbo props are lower cost for everything from maintenance to certifications for the pilot and aircraft, and most turboprops can use runways that even small jets still cannot since turboprops can reverse the props to help slow down and also even reverse and better maneuver the aircraft when needed. If speed and 5 passengers (plus you as pilot, 6 total) and having a lav/toilet is important than you should seriously consider the TBM. If speed without the lav/toilet works for you then TBM or Epic would be a good choice since both cruise around 330 knots/380 mph. If you want the most versatile and having more passengers, useful load weight, cargo space, lav/toilet is more important to you then probably the PC-12 or the new Denali would probably be a good choice and still respectable cruise speeds around 290 knots/325 mph. From everything that you have described an all of your videos I believe the Pilatus PC-12 Turboprop, the Denali Turboprop, or the PC-24 Jet (if you have the budget for the higher cost) are probably the best overall solutions. I know people that have switched from light jets like the cirrus jet, and honda jet to a TBM or Pilatus, but not the other way around unless they need something much larger and with a lot farther range.
