Yes, indeed, I have a 8TB SSD that was needed for the final rendered movie, before being compressed down for youtube.

Your other hardware and software has to be capable of displaying 7680x2160 AV1 video, otherwise that option is not available to you. In general, on Windows, use Chrome or Chromium based browser with the AV1 codec downloaded from Microsoft.

The 12 bit and the 444 doesn't make any sense right now, but who knows, maybe oneday when bandwidth is even cheaper, and the video formats better, it will be re-encoded.

When you click on "stats for nerds" (right click to pull up the context menu), what does it say? The optimal for the neo g9 57 will have Codec AV1 at full 8K and Color Rec 2020. If you don't have these, there is an issue with your hardware or possibly software.

@@SEATennis1 If you are on Windows make sure you have installed the AV1 Video Extension from the Microsoft Store. Then go to TH-cam Settings | Playback and Performance and make sure "Always prefer AV1" is checked. If your hardware is unable to support AV1 then you're out of luck. Try it with Chrome first, or Edge.

@@GalacticWarthogMany Many thanks. I did exactly as u adviced and it works. I am now able to change quality to 8K mode and now stats nerd shows i am at 7680x2160 . Looks amazing in full screen now.

Agreed, I'm not happy with the audio either. But there is always the mute button, as you said...

Possibly, if I knew how to do it. Problem is the high quality versions are pretty huge. Want the ProRes 444 version? That will be a few TBs....

I’ll make more, but keep in mind it takes a loooong time. The time lapses take a year to make and process (1 week per 5 minutes for processing alone), and the videos require about a month of processing. It’s purely a hobby because the revenue from YT is a tiny fraction of the actual cost. And I don’t have any midstream ads and never will….. thanks for your comments and I’ll make more for sure!

@@GalacticWarthog Whoa! had no idea they were that labor intensive! That would explain why there aren't any videos out there like yours. Well I certainly appreciate your hard work. I play them most every morning while I read and meditate before the kids get up.

@@Jpollan1492 It's the 8K resolution that makes everything take so much longer. And for the uploads over an hour, it usually takes YT weeks to process.

You're right, they do, but maybe oneday they will re-process the original 444 into .... 4:4:4. A dream that may come true when bandwidth is super cheap
