    Wherei Jordan is here, he is trying to manipulate these people. Jordan has no established evidence to support this theory and has a habit of overselling his expertise and gets caught. . Well here is something to consider. Jordan is guilty of PRIDE, VANITY, ENVY, GREED, and WRATH. Look at how he started trying to deceive the courts in 2009 regarding the Sordi case. At the same time Jordan will not address that DURING SUSPENSION, LICENSEES MAY NOT PRACTICE PSYCHOLOGY OR REFER TO THEMSELVES AS PSYCHOLOGISTS. As indicated above in "Probation," suspensions are considered disciplinary actions associated with probation orders and, as such, are public information and provided to consumers upon request. Jordan is a Jim Jones or David Koresh wannabe. He is an entertainer not a psychologist. Because he sells books and videos and lectures, THAT IS NOT THERAPY. He needs to address his bad conduct in courts in the case of Case 1 Sordi v. Sordi, 2009 CanLII 80104 (ON SC) he defamed a parent in court. In the case 2 R. v. Pearce, 2012 MBQB 22 (CanLII) he tried to free a murderer. Then in the case Peterson v. College of Psychologists of Ontario, 2023 ONSC 4685, he tried to avoid taking responsibility. He also tried to interfere in a family court case in Montana, the Kolstadt case, where there was a GAG order, he unprofessionally diagnosed a minor without interviews or assessments, and tried to defend unfit parents.

    He a smart guy, but he equivocates by redefining "free will" so that he can say it exists. To quote him: "Free will exists in the sense that decisions are controlled at multiple levels of the nervous system." That's not at all what anyone means by free will. All phenomena have causal chains occurring at multiple levels. That is not free will by any definition. "(Our choices and actions) differ in terms of their degree of determinism." Really? How so? That's an assertion offered with zero evidence. Where is the chain of causality broken so that somehow uncaused "freedom" gets inserted? You say there's no "magic", but then claim there are degrees of determinism. So degrees of causality. What's the range of causality? From 0 to 100? From 99.99 to 100? What is it that fills the gaps if not "magic"? Randomness is not free will. "The brain executes decision rules that are not deterministic." LOL. Where'd you get that rabbit you pulled out of your hat? So there are rules, but they somehow don't get applied via causality? Please explain with evidence to support that conclusion. Even if you claim some decisions are random or are unpredictable, that in no way means they are freely made and somehow are not deterministic. "Free will is not what we intuitively feel it to be." Yeah, no kidding, but if you redefine it with some non sequiturs and hand waving you can pretend we do have it. Now we feel better.

Therefore, not only is the poor struggling, the working class is stuggling as well, because neither have high value skills. We are hoping to be given a job, and i think that is detrimental to our economy and society.

    I have been a fan of Ayn Rand for years, and I introduced my fellow gay and lesbian friends to her work, as well as my other friends. None of them ever were interested in politics or philosophy, but they got hooked on Ayn Rand! With the right, no effect. With the leftists, I don't even better. Because even though Ayn Rand was a supporter of a woman's rights to an abortion, my former friends, who went Woke, called me a far-right extremist; they would condescend to me, they would gaslight me, and then after they had the NERVE to say to me "I am still your friend," they Denounced me and slandered me.

    It seems like the entire APA is based on the premise “Pain is bad” Which is the most obviously naïve idea i can think of. That’s literally how children think. Yes obviously becoming tougher is hard in the moment, but it’s also obviously better than a LIFETIME OF FRAGILITY Is PSYCHOLOGY of all fields becoming a “safe space”? It seems to me like the ethos went from “help people confront reality” to “say whatever the hell they need to hear to keep them coming back so we can keep making money.”

      He is saying get the skills that are desirable in society, such as economical skills (running a successful business for example) or technical skills (engineers, scientists, doctors) and if there are enough in the group with these skills, eventually, the group cannot be held back even if others try to. The examples he gave are the Jews and the Chinese in the US and Chinese minority in Malaysia. Another group I can think of are Indian minorities in African countries. Simple concept really which I totally agree on.

    "Greed" *is* good. The distinction made in the video between greed and Ayn Rand's more cited phrase "rational self-interest" is a false one. Rand did not make a distinction between the two concepts. In Atlas Shrugged there's an entire chapter called 'The Utopia of Greed' in which we get introduced to Galt's gulch. "Greed" like "selfishness" is a package deal that lumps to things which are not fundamentally the same, i.e., people who desire more of something rationally (more wealth, more children, more love, more holidays etc) and attain those values by rational action (i.e. trade) and those who don't, like the Bernie Madoff's of the world, who want more of something and use exploitation as the means of attaining it.

    • @Game-of-Heroic-Meaning
      @Game-of-Heroic-Meaning 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. IF and TO THE DEGREE that the word "greed" describes rational self-interest, it is good. To the degree that "greed" describes those who desire irrational goals (wealth at the cost of integrity, for example) and use unjust means (force, fraud, dishonesty, extortion...) it is bad. The fact that both of these meanings are package-dealed into "greed" and "selfishness" (which, in this package-deal sense are synonyms) is not accidental. It is an intentional distortion of language by (but not limited to) Marxist/socialists and those Christians who have a Marxist bent - SO THAT they can disparage rational self-interest, because to the degree that people value rational self-interest, they become more difficult to manipulate and control. Making this distinction was the point of this video, especially in the context of Klavan's rant and overall project.
