Review - Motomaster Motorcycle Chock
Trying out the Motomaster Motorcycle Chock. Used it on my Royal Enfield Scram 411, Harley Davidson Sport Glide and Ultra Limited. Works really well for what I am using it for. I may need to adjust the one chock for the Royal Enfield but other than that it worked great.

Why Does Harley Davidson Call It a Jiffy stand?
มุมมอง 293วันที่ผ่านมา
I was today years old when I found out that Harley puts a Jiffy stand on their motorcycles not kickstands. Ok, I knew Harley Davidson called them jiffy stands but I just thought that was what they called kickstands. Jiffy stands, although performing similarly to a kickstand is different as the weight of the motorcycle actually activates the stand and prevents it from folding up if the motorcycl...

Not a lot you can do when you’re on two wheels. The risk isn’t worth the reward to ever throw the leg over a road bike. I get that people say “life is short” but man, I know three people who have died and one who was nearly run over by a semi-truck. Don’t fuck around.
Yeah, gotta make sure you're being safe for sure!
Considering that you're playing Luke Combs young boys done for what a f****** sell-out joke
Ok habibi is not illegal if no 👮♂️
Yep!👍
Teach him to always be a defensive rider, and always expect every single car on the road to pull out in front of you, run red lights in front of you, change lanes in front of you, etc. expect every car is out to kill you and none of them see you. That’s the only way to try and be safe on a motorcycle. Having good skills is awesome, but practice those skills on a track if possible, and never “show off” on the street, don’t care how good you are.
💯!!! I've told both my kids that they should ride/drive as though no one else knows how. It's saved me a couple of times as well!!!👍
I have this same choke, got mine at Harbor Freight, I set that in my truck bed, not bolted down, and I haul my Triumph Bonne to CO every year, I strap my bike down like you except I hook them to the truck bed hooks making sure NOT TO bottom out the suspension/shocks, rides great, been doing it that way for years with no problem
That's great to hear as I'll be putting them like this in a uhaul trailer. I thought I'd strap them down like the way I've done and then strap them to the trailer. I think it should work. Thanks for this, as it will ease my worry about them falling over on the drive up! Thanks!
Get a lesson or 2 from an actual trained professional. Get them to go thru all the safety tips.

My brother in fact did hit the guard rail and my parents did get that call 3 weeks ago he’s no longer here with us. Teach him to respect the bike and the roads because they are not forgiving and will take your life in a blink of an eye. Be safe
Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your family 😔
Sadly that call can come regardless of how good the rider is 😕
I know. First thing I told both my kids, "just ride/drive like no one else on the road knows how"
@@streetsean I just told my son not to bother with motorbikes. The injury n fatality rate just doesn’t seem worth the risk purely for fun 😕

I don't care what it's called, I want to know why they designed it so the bike has to be pushed over past straight up to deploy it. I have bad knees, and am always afraid I'm going to push the bike over a bit too far, and it's going to fall over on the right side. It can also be a lot harder to reach with your foot to put it down while sitting on the bike. I think what all bikes should have is a way to lock the front brake, so the bike can't move forward. I actually saw something like that on a 50cc scooter, and wondered why motorcycles don't have it.
Yeah, I'm not sure the advantages of it outweigh the negatives. With the softail I've never really had an issue with it but with the ultra I really notice all the shortcomings of it. Every time I park it I think I'm going right over and to stand it up when my wife and I are on takes a lot to do it
"Sidestand" in Blighty.
Yeah, I've heard that to, it all works for me!
Still a kickstand or side stand.. just has a lock mechanism.. only HD Culture bros care wtf it's called..
True, and I'll still call it a kick stand.
Hey, question on the install. For the caliper bracket was there anything that requires you to bolt on the to the swingarm or does it just slide on.
No it doesn't bolt on just the axle through it is what holds it in place.
My first street bike was a dyna switchback which was fun but the more I rode it the more I wanted a full size touring bike. I recently upgraded to an ultra limited and have been tying to get used to the difference in weight and I’m a shorter rider at 5’8”. I have been getting in the habit of always parking in 1st gear and have made it a habit to mount and dismount like a police motorcycle officer on the right side of the bike
That's a great idea! I'm at 5'9" so I'm in the same boat. I also just learned it's a jiffy stand so the creeping forward isn't an issue...🤣🤣🤣
Leave it in gear when you dismount.
And it would help that I just found out it's a jiffy stand, not a kickstand...🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣
@streetsean lol. It's called a kickstand on every bike, but Harley uses It's own terminology so they call the kickstand jiffy stand
@Beastius24 I'm actually just filming a video about it. A jiffy stand is actually different than a kickstand...who knew🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@streetsean waoh. I'm intrigued now.
@Beastius24 The weight of the bike keeps the jiffy stand locked. I kickstand can still flip up with the weight of the bike on it...when I parked at the gas pump it would not have tipped over as tue jiffy stand only moves a little bit...would have saved a clean pair of underwear...🤣🤣🤣
Mate you are spot on… agree with all what you are saying. I might add one thing I love about Harley is that it is a family oriented culture, my wife joins me and in our group we have a lot of partners too. Love your videos 👌🏼
Thanks!👍 Most of my riding is done with my wife. She loves it as well and most places we go it's couples a s well.

I think half the fun of owning a bike is customizing it to fit you and your comfort I truly enjoyed personalize my road king special
I like that after the bike leaves the showroom, you won't find 2 Harleys exactly the same. And your right it is fun to change them up.
A day later, the Bluetooth did start working. I'm not sure if it was because the system needed to be turned off longer than I did in the video, to properly reboot the system.
That’s about how mine looks!
Better in there than in the bike.
I saw in other videos that the oil drain cover has a torque spec of 8 Nm which is just under 6 foot pounds.
Thanks! That would make sense that it's not very high. Thanks for this👍
Yes!!!!!🙌🏽
👍👍👍
You got rid of the FOB and then flipped the on switch...... how about the master ignition switch? What position is it in?
That is an older softail, you would have to start with everything off, then turn ignition on...then start the procedure.

I live in Japan where lane split is legal and It is as safe as a car as long as you know how to handle it.
@tripleS_airsoft I would love if they brought that to Canada. Even just lane filtering, would increase safety a lot I would think.

Congrats on the new addition! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks! Looking forward to riding the new bike
When I started riding (1970s) I was not into Harleys. If you went to a dealership they might have 1 or 2 new bikes and that was it. I had friends that had pan heads, oil leakers big time. I bought a BSA and later a Norton. Great bikes. Around 2005 I finally bought a new Sportster, then 2006 Road King, later a 2009 Street Glide and now I on a Road Glide. Yeah, I hate Harleys! The worst thing I dislike is some of the dealership sells tactics!
That seems to be the #1 thing people hate is the dealerships. You'd think Harley would listen to all the complaints and deal with the dealerships, that is the first point of contact with all costumers and potential future customers. We're lucky here, the dealerships around me all seem pretty decent.
Appreciate the help.....thanks
👍👍
Also means that water/debris/oils is running away from seals and not pooling, minimising (not fully removing) risk of dirt ingess into forks.
Nice, I didn't know that and that didn't come up in my searches. Thanks!
Totaly sure, this is trash 😂😂😂
"Totally"...🤣🤣🤣
If Harley Davidson were as overrated as people seem to think, they wouldn't sell so much and be so popular. In the US market, HD was 35.8% of sales, and Honda followed by 21.2%, a big margin for an economy that would favor "cheaper bikes." A lot of guys who say "you can get faster or better for less" don't have the riding passion Harley people have. Some just don't understand the passion that we have for Harley-Davidson. I do understand because I have a relatively fast little 4-cylinder car. That was not super expensive, but I also have a slower classic car that starts mush more discussions at a gas station. I personally love HD because of the memories I have had with them for years. Nostalgia is a big part, just like anything from your past. If people are honest with themselves, they can appreciate any motorcycle. I can't say I love the culture 100%. Because they are people who can have too much passion... But I DO love the people that ride Harleys.. so much that I personally quit my job after 15 years and started a new career at a local HD store that was big enough to be a true Harley-Davidson store but small enough to be honest and take care of the people. Toy runs, military fund-raisers, and 150 bikes show up at an elementary school because a 10-year-old is fighting something medically and loves bikes. Granted, I am not head-to-toe covered in leather, and my bike isn't even black. But I see those "cheaper, better, bikes" traded in all the time. Last time I checked, no one was there, but you paid for the bike. So who cares what others think? Ride your bike. That is really Harley Davidson. ML&R
That is awesome. One of the issues with our dealers is they didn't seem to do much in community stuff in the past (maybe because of the last 4 years?) But they all seem to be announcing a lot more community stuff this year and my wife and I are planning to attend as much as we can. I'm with you about not wearing leather, but I do tend to get a Harley shirt wherever we go on vacation and it's getting hard to dig down in my drawer to get a non harley shirt, but I don't mind. My neighbor had 2 sport bikes, a Yamaha and a Suzuki, both nice bikes...zero interest to take them for a ride. I can appreciate all bikes but the Harley look and brand is what I like the best.
You can't just lump every bike that says Harley Davidson on it together. There are the REAL Harleys that they used to make, and there is the computerized flat black trash they make today. I like Harleys because of the looks (and I am NOT a fan of flat black) the sound, and the feel. Newer ones no longer have that sound and feel. I have a 1989 FXRS Low Rider and a 1997 Sportster 1200C. Both bought used, both have bright shiny paint, bright aluminum, and LOTS of chrome, some of which I added.
Awesome. I agree with the sound and the way it makes you feel. I love my M8 sport glide and riding it through the winding roads. It's a blast...however, it doesn't sound or feel as good as the twin cam I just got....that sound is just awesome. But by the sounds of it I need to get an Evo now too...haha👍
It’s nostalgic, those that have never owned one won’t understand. It’s the same as everything in the world. You can buy a $4 t-shirt or a $100 t-shirt. They are both t-shirts. People like different things, and I think they are also jealous they can’t afford a HD
Nostalgic is a great reason to love them. And I go for the used $50 t-shirt!🤣
Yeah, well, that damn loping engine and the get up and go power from that loping engine is one reason why I like my M8 114 Heritage. So, my Heritage power plant is all stock including the stock pipes. But, my softail is what, 150 pounds lighter than a stock touring Harley. The 114 is no slouch, so yeah, I still like my loping engine and it’s forward THRUST that is available when I twist the throttle. Oh, on edit. I’m much more comfortable on long rides on the Harley than I am on my 2016 Kawasaki Versys 1000. Me BITS are not getting pinched and stuff on the Harley compared to the Kawasaki. That’s all I’m going to say 😳
Yeah, the power on the Harleys is different. Whenever I "give it the beans" it's like a kick in the ass. And combined with the sound...awesome. I've had people tell me the Heritage is the best touring bike (I know it's a softail). They say it's comfortable and not as heavy.
When I pull up beside a bus and let the bike idle, I think, I paid alot of money for that sound, and it's worth EVERY penny!
I have a 2018 Spirt Glide with Vance & Hines Radial pipes. So much better than factory exhaust
Yes, we paid a lot for that sound. Can't go wrong with Vance & Hines. Mine are the Rineharts...idle is a little more quiet but once you get on it...sounds so good.
Thank you, i feel right like you about my Sport Glide (excuse my bad english ;-) ).
It's a great bike! I love it!👍👍👍
History and heritage, sound, styling, and the “feel” of a 45 degree v-twin. Been my experience that those who hate on Harley can’t afford one or are envious of the passion we have for our bikes despite shortcomings. Why do you love your own kid? I love mine no matter what, another’s “ beat it you dirty little kid”. Put it this way, we don’t wear our insecurities about Harleys on our sleeves like other brands. We don’t have sleeves anyways.😂
Yeah, I love Harleys. There's always something to nit pick on certain stuff, but overall I love em. But I also don't hate other bikes or companies. When I bought my first harley, there was this really nice Indian thay was newer, cheaper with less miles...but...it wasn't a Harley.
I'm sure there's a lot of other reasons but this is why I love Harley Davidsons.
All I see is Harley’s everywhere I go. I’d rather be different and pull up with bikes nobody knows about
It's why I like colour on my Harley...🤣
Negatively always does well. That being said alot of people are upset with cooperate decisions and dealership experiences. As far as the bikes go they obviously make good bikes but they like to give the oh it's the most customizable bike when it's lacking to competors. So ether way ride what you like.
That's about it. From what I can tell it's mostly the dealers that people have an issue with, would be good to get the same experience no matter where you went but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case.
It's not a trend, it's a generational thing. Boomers did irreparable harm to the brands image, and Harley themselves simply have done nothing to try and appeal to younger buyers. Their products are WAY overpriced and lack performance/appeal. There are simply too many good (and much better) bikes for significantly less money.
I get why people don't like harley, I was referring to the people that seemed to like harley but then just started bashing them when they got more views. I have noticed a lot more younger riders in my area that are riding Harleys. Now they mostly ride older models and not the new ones, which would be a problem for harley.
@@streetsean ahh I get yah. There may differences in what region you're in too. The only "young" ppl I see on Harleys tend to be on sportsters, or the rider is Hispanic. Obviously still a lot of squids out there on Japanese things, but most folks middle age around here tend to be on European sport tourers or ADV bikes.
@brentharrington9235 Yeah, for sure. The younger riders I see are either sportster or like mid '90s Dyna's... I think they're the stunt guys. And you're right about the ADV bikes. I only see guys older than me riding them. Sport touring bikes don't really seem popular around here, which is weird as I think they're a good option for long distance riding.
