Thoughts on cardboard packs? Been picking up Evolving Skies for £15 on average and Lost Origin for £5.95

I put my evolving skies boxes in acrylic protectors so they have a hard protective shield in a way all around. This really helps avoiding damage as you can pick the box up and ship it without even touching the box. Then again I paid $170 for Evo skies so $700 is much higher.

Ugh English set names always get the stupidest names. “Surging Sparks” “Ultra Prism” “Vivid Voltage” etc:; It’s like they just pick a random verb & noun generator.

Picked up the backpack and two playmats yesterday 5:07 just had an order cancelled by a UK seller due to common issue with items getting stuck in customs when shipping to the US.

Good video. Had some FS delivered today. Now to consider what's next, more SWSH from PC or jump into some of these decent pre-order prices for SC. (UK)

This set is hot garbage. Even if short printed i don't think it would sell well even later because no one is buying it to open. Im not buying regardless of how much potential price manipulation and fomo they can try and pump into this box. Even if it goes to 1k the next day I will still believe i made the correct choice.

The $500 Evolving Skies booster box sale was legit sales and they were up for a couple hours yesterday. They did sell out but the seller had a 0 rating so buyers like me stayed far away.

Would you say holding longer is best for any booster or is it worth it to sell at certain time points? Also does this apply to individual cards too? I have a Diantha and yveltal rainbow from forbidden light (which may be worth grading) and I'm unsure if these will increase in value over time or not.

Artificial Scarcity Created From Pokémon, Japanese Market isn’t having this issue. Look at Crown 👑 Zenith getting a reprint in these new boxes soon. So aslong as the set isn’t more than 2 years old DON’T PANIC FOLKS!

Astral Radiance BBs have ended up being my biggest holding because i picked them up when everybody was on the LO/FS/CR Frenzy. I dont trust the PC boxes after seeing their packaging. prefer to buy cases of SV stuff from 3rd Party now.

I think pokemon did this on purpose to create artificial demand knowing full well this set isn't going to be a top seller

TCG player has been getting manipulated. That’s probably two people buying the same box back in forth in hopes that it causes a collapse so they can scoop up the people who get scared and post low. I didn’t say it was smart but that’s the worst case scenario and probably what’s happening.

Battle Styles is a better investment than Brilliant stars, is better value for money, relative to the value of the chase cards inside.

In my opinion, none of the stellar crown illustration cards look like they can compete with the top SV chase cards.

I think I share the same sentiment with Shrouded Fable - only the Greninja/Kingdra promos will do well. The rest of the set really isn't worth buying in to. I have a gut feeling the Greninja will be more expensive than the kingdra because of the success of the TWM greninja, but I really can't put an evaluation to it. I would be surprised if either promo sells for less than $10 a month after release. It's interesting to hear SFA might get a short-print in the US - that could increase uncertainty around the price of those promos. I don't know if I have had enough time to review Stellar Crown yet, so I can't say I have the same confidence in the set as you do at this moment. I'd like to hear more about pull rates within SFA, and supply/distro numbers for SCR before looking for a preorder. I 100% think you're correct in that we are FINALLY at a point - a golden age - of getting cheap preorders that aren't getting chewed up immediately by the masses. I hope this sticks around for the next few SV sets, because I think we're definitely in the stride of SV - these next few sets are absolutely critical to get our hands on!

Appreciate your honesty with what didn't go well for you instead of making out every investment is a winner. I am brand new to collecting/investing. I just grabbed a Shining Stars BB as my first investment. I am torn between sealed FS or going for a below RRP Stellar Crown pre-order at the moment.
