Also if your looking at singles for investments check your LCS right afyer price booms. Usually cards will be underpriced and you can flip quickly.
Something to note is the pull rates are tougher in SV sets since Paradox Rift. I'm also a big fan of this set so hopefully this helps the long term value but it's a bit too soon to analyse the singles prices as the set's not even a month old. I do have the feeling the Greninja has potential to be one of the big chases of SV and hold it's value though.
Now that we're 6 main sets into the SV block of TCG sets we're at the half way point of the whole era. The first half sets have been focussed on showcasing the new Pokemon from the latest games and we can basically confirm there to be a Team Rocket set, Dragon set and Terapagos set to come. The later sets in the previous 2 eras are usually the nostalgia bait/ popular pokemon heavy sets, so as someone with many years investing, what's your strategy? Do you usually hold off on these mid era sets to focus heavily on later sets or spread the risk over different sets?

Personally I tend average stacking across the whole era, although I do agree in past eras the second half has performed better. For me its all about consistency, If I like a new set ill buy into it for below retail. I regularly even go back to less popular sets that are 2-3 years old and buy them too. If I like it, I like it. A perfect example of this is Darkness Ablaze, Im still stacking it for retail but most people hate it 😊
A comment on the prices checks for the Greninja around 17:00 - I saw a dip down to ~$115 market price around June 12th-15th, in that range. There was likely a dump/some manipulation in attempt to drive that price down a bit, but failed because of the rarity of the card. (I watch TCG Player prices mostly). We're already back up to and holding at $160-$170. A good condition (NM listed on TCG Player) will nearly instantly sell for $150.

Never got a first comment 😊 I think twilight masquerade will do well because of the quality of art AND the low pull rates means less of the big hitters in circulation that will keep prices up. I will be picking up several booster boxes to hold long term.great content!

Don't ever binder cards you want to keep for a potential investment or to be graded. You can get top loader binders but that becomes expensive when you start getting in the hundreds of cards. Penny sleeve, tip load, and get a top loader hard case to store them in. They also sell Slab cases for storing your graded cards.
