Predator 5000 Runtime on Propane (BBQ Tank). Results are SHOCKING!!!!
Testing the predator 5000 watt inverter generator at just under 50% load to see how long it will run on propane. The results are truly shocking and way beyond what I expected! I highly recommend the Predator 5000 from all my initial testing. Stay tuned for its 2nd oil change and hopefully less messy this time. 😬

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video. I just recently called about a quote for a whole house Generac generator and they want $2,000 up front and total cost was around 13,000. I only need something to power my refrigerator and deep freezer because I have an alternate heating source, and Alternate cooking Source when a power outage so I was looking for something that I can afford and this seems like a good solution or maybe the 9500 because I have a tiny 886 square foot house.

I have two of these, I also had an older version that was square. I actually prefer that older style because they stack on top of each other. The biggest gripe I have with Champion is they changed the parallel connectors to square plugs so you have to buy their parallel kit. I understand why they did it but I hate when manufacturers do that crap instead of having a universal design. Before anyone says it's not a big deal, it is for me because the older parallel kit I have has the round plugs that all the other manufacturers use. So I had to spend another $80 for their parallel kit.

Running a generator on propane is actually quite expensive, but it has the one advantage of sitting unused without getting gummed up or having it's gas go stale. So you would not want to use it for anything but emergency backup power. You can get as much propane as you want, sitting there unused for years, as long as you own the tank(s). This can make a huge difference in how many (very expensive) batteries you need if you have off-grid solar. For example, maybe you only need battery backup for 3 days, instead of 5 days, because days without sunshine are rarely more than 3 days where you live. If you calculated it right, you almost never have to power up that propane generator.

I've always liked MagLite's simplistic design. It just appeals to me. About a year ago I bought myself a Nitecore HC60V2 headlight for work. It felt a quality product at first but it started giving me trouble very soon. I felt like the on / off switch didn't always work as it should have and later on one plastic part of the headband broke while the light was in my backpack. I also have some other lights. Four of them are MagLites; MagTac plain bezel, XL200 (way too complicated and gimmicky), XL100 (still a bit complicated and gimmicky) and Solitaire LED on my keychain. They have never given me any trouble and the MagTac feels incredible well built and good in hand. I really love it. Money well spent. The Solitaire LED gets the most use because it's almost constantly on me when I'm awake. It's switchless design makes it perfect for every day pocket carry.

Should I run my dometic fridge (with ice trays) from the Bluetti 12 v cigarette socket or one of the Bluetti’s 110 plugs. My older 500watt Bluetti just runs low to fast. Looking at a bigger Bluetti. Help. Or should I get the 180t and the Bluetti fridge with those plug in Bluetti battery

Thanks for watching! It’s probably better to use the 12v socket so you don’t have the power draw from the 120v inverter

I got the Mini Maglite 2AA LED, the original version with around 140 lumens almost 12 years ago and it is still going strong. The focusing headcap casts the spot more than a hundred yards out with a laser like focus. I do construction and now a Fenix UC35V2.0 and PD40RV3 are my primary EDCs but the Mini Maglite is still in my tool case as a backup. I run only Lithium Energizer AAs in it and they never leak or lose power. One pair of lithium Energizers lasted almost a year with constant use.

I learned so much in this video alone for someone new who’s looking at purchasing their first generator. Thank you!

Can you feed natural gas to this generator if your home has natural gas?

@@DJ-vm2zi I saw somewhere on line that someone makes an aftermarket natural gas regulator. Out of the box you can’t do natural gas but if you get an aftermarket regulator then you should be able to. Thanks for watching!

@@Outdoor_Prepper thanks. It would be good to use the natural gas line if just the power fails so you can save the propane for use if the natural gas stops. Extra backup fuel. 😀

Before you fired up and read the instructions. Replace, and or modify with magnet the oil filled drain plug. During the initial breaking it will solve many problems and add hours to the life. Me and mister Tesla like the hour or a minute give it 5 stars and thumbs up. Upgrade the spark plug right off the bat as suggested by many in this thread. Add backup air filters. Replacements. Is summer wash your bone and recycle a bulk and others are not. With respect to the easy access on the port side of this unit. OK break out your arrange to take out the 4 corners and you have greater access to the spark plug in everything out there I'm only sure you try.
