Thanks for clicking on the video.
This adventure takes me back to the Lake District UK, more specifically Derwentwater, myself and a friend paddled over to St Herberts Island, where we set up camp, cooked some good food over the cam fire and relaxed.
The next day was a little more testing as the weather turned and the wind hit 25mph.

It was really windy mate, the island was superb and it has that remote feeling. I usually forget something on my trips just not normally coffee, that’s usually the first thing in the bag. Thanks for watching mate.

Good to see you getting out and about, please consider wearing a Bouyancy aid when paddling, doesn't matter how strong a swimmer you are if you had gone in the water in those conditions you might not have finished the video!!

      Hi Jon,
Thanks for watching, and I totally agree regarding the jacket, I stupidly left it at home!
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

That wind, those waves, that rain - and that was only a July.

A good video. But I do wonder how long five acres of woodland is going to last with all the camp fires.

I took some of my own wood with me, I had assumed it would be a popular spot and to be honest there isn’t much deadfall left. I would suggest anyone going to the island to take some rather than cutting down any more trees.
      Thanks
      Joe

How long did it take you to paddle to the island? Were looking to paddleboard there and wondering about the distance

Like has already been said, great video, just a pity about the litter at the end, but that’s the problems we had here, Keswick and Derwentwater, last year caused mainly by those who should be in Benidorm, so many idiots came with no idea how to act or respect the Lake District. So much for staycations, the soon they can get in their bars abroad the better. Some camp sites down the bottom of Derwentwater actually closed as a result of the high amount or morons who were coming here

Hi Neil, it’s a shame the amount of rubbish that is left behind, it’s such a beautiful place. Thanks for watching.
