Please post again 😢
New videos 🙏🙏🙏
Comment faire une intro de vidéo comme elle?
I have a question where can i find the correct eyelets for a cartridge belt?
A canvas bag hides many, MANY sins. And with War Two reenacting, you have duffel bags and OD laundry bags. While I am a Civil War reenactor, there's tricks and tips we all share... especially when we're doing our primary job of dealing with the public. And I'll take advice from anybody 😁 I've gotten a lot out of your series and the Handgranaten series on the German side. Kudos.
Are you going to make new videos?
Ever wonder how WWII re-enacting came to be? The answer is tucked in the back of the WWIIHRS founder's book, A BRIDGE TO TIME, A Re-enactor's Journey by T.J. Sotoropolis. Watch his video, THE BIRTH OF WWII RENACTING & EARLY DAYS OF THE HRS! Watch for the Rat Farb cartoon @ 10:35. :)

The M-43, M-51 and especially the M-65 is legendary. Love these M65's.
I wish you would go over sizing for modern reproductions. All of the modern reproductions i have seen say nothing or very little about the size.
Cool video but your actors are way too bulky
am i allowed to wear a webcam or other recording device hidden on my person to record the battle? if so what is the best webcam and location of it to avoid obvious farb?
th-cam.com/video/Fuy-9xhf4qo/w-d-xo.html best I can find
Can women be involved in this? I think this is so cool but I also know this needs to be historic so if women can’t do it I completely understand!
There are impressions for Women, like the WAACs or WASPs. There are also medical roles you can do as well.
@@FireMoose-1776 okay! What exactly do I try and search for when wanting to do these types of roles? I’d probably be interested in the medical side like the Red Cross
@@CakesDontLieI would start at the US WW2 medical research Center, they have a lot of info.
Fascinating , thanks for educating us all 😊
Redwing iron rangers anybody else?
You should do a video on the class a uniform (4 pocket jacket) For dress uniforms and how to assemble them, going over regulation and all of that, it's very important for people who start out in the hobby so they don't wear their insignias upside down lol. (I actually saw a fellow wearing his upside down)
That split Winchester receiver hurt to look at. Yikes
I have an old helmet shell im using for reenacting, it has a stainless steel front seam rim, and swivel bales. It also has a suspiciously bullet-shaped indent on the crown which is perfect for leaving it as a shaving basin
Update: AtTheFront now makes reproduction socks, though it is worth noting that they are exactly the same as modern OD green cushion sole socks, just in a different color
I do reenactments of the Westward expansion and the fur trade era. Getting period stuff is tough! Like you guys we didn't hound people to get straight. We helped them as they gain more experience to obtain better kit.
Here's another small idea by a white belt by the actual buckle and then died the belt in coffee you will come up with the same exact shade as you need it's the cheapest option cuz you can find white ones anywhere
That's very much called farb and I would suggest against that.
I've been watching these episodes for a couple days now I think they're very informative and very useful for new recruits that are coming to reenactments this would have been a big help for us when we were starting me back in the day thank you for doing this for these new guys that are coming in it's a really helpful to us a lot of us can't help out these new guys but at least they can have something to look forward to when they go watch it on TH-cam
i have a fur hat for my ww2 german gebirgsjäger impression when it get´s very cold idk how common it was i just know that it´s warm and my great grand father had that as he was a waffen SS gebirgsjäger as a SS sturmmann i also don´t know if he bought it himself or if he got it issued
i also thought he use of the Camo HBT's were removed because when they were worn/ broken in they would fade white and or brighter
You need to do a video on Mannerisms, ie the low ready of the rifle etc
I have a South african defense force helmet from 1967 with the exact same liner, seems to be a copy but interesting to see the lessons learned get translated into equipment
You guys gonna do more vids? Love your content!
This is some real helpful stuff in this series; I just wish there was one like this for Marine Corps reenacting... unless I'm missing something like a super genius
Will there be a guide about the pacific theater in the future?
@@BigusShrimpus We hope to eventually start covering the PTO in future uploads!
do you know where I can get a reproduction enlisted man visor cap no originals can fit my head and I do need one any info would help
atthefront just made a pair that are made from an original pattern
hope someone make movie like this about usmc
Kind of random but what software did you use to give the video this vintage news look? Very cool by the way.
@@watch7966 we appreciate the feedback! We use the film program Final Cut Pro to create every episode of the Reenactor Guide!
You showed my group actually karma when you were talking about companies selling c & k rations you showed the 45th infantry division, that's my unit
Did you really just announce garand wrong 🤦🏻
Yeah he should have said the United States Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 the real name
Could you use these for korean war impressions too?
0:30 I live in the same town that A&W is in. I used to work there too.
there was this viral period accurate vintage photo of a german soldier holding a phone, it was ironically posted on facebook and some people genuinely believed it, indeed some fact checker websites had to step in to say it's a hoax
I’m starting to get into ww2 reenacting I ordered a us army infantry uniform that came with the dark green hbt pants I’m just curious if that is historically accurate
Tech Sargent was kind of it own thing
I think getting “authentic” glasses are unnecessary in a reenacting setting as the average spectator would not care about it. Sure it’s inaccurate to wear modern glasses but I’d would not throw flak at them for having modern lenses as prescription glasses are expensive $250-300 to be exact and going the extra steps to have it custom fitted to lenses is too much hassle for whats essentially a cosmetic like prop grenades or the like. What’s worse is that most reenactors would just use regular glasses anyway in their everyday life even when they had glasses that’s already proven to be more durable in an outside environment. If you want to buy vintage style glasses for the sake of reenactment that’s on you, but for me I’ll stick with the glasses I have until it breaks or I go to the eye doctor again.
I got mine off of eBay original wool shirt and pants for $40
Stop blacking out screen very anoying!
Where are you guys????? You've been gone forever!!!!!
Is adding modern insoles considered farb?
Some would, I've done it, though. SMWholesale, though, uses veg tanned leather, which molds to your foot and is far more comfortable than modern insoles.
How does this system compare to a modern rucksack? Has anyone used both?
The haversack is more for moving to a bivouac site. Unpack, set up, and pack up to move to the next bivouac site. The realities of modern combat highlighted the shortcomings of the system. The 1944 system went into development in late 42 and was tested stateside for about a year. Approved in 1944. Issued Stateside first, since new troops were going overseas and M 28 gear was already in use there. The new gear had an actual backpack and a 2 bag system like the Marine Corps had used since 1940. Between any of this and a modern ruck? No comparison. TBH, the M 28 seems more versatile. I would have used some kind of bag inside it, especially for light loads.
Where is everyone getting G.I. boots? WWII Impressions and At The Front are out of stock with little or no chance of them coming back.
I'll tell you dont buy "corcoran" jump boots flat out i bought some just a few months ago feel like plastic, the squeak and creek, thread is pulling through, and one toe cap is shorter than the other
They've gotten that bad 😞. They began going down hill not long after being sold in the early 90s to HH Brown and production moved to Martinsburg from Stoughton Mass. I've owned numerous pair since 83 when I was in the Army. My original set I got in 83 lasted through three resolings before finally wearing out in some areas. The brown versions were from the original first couple runs by Stoughton in the late 80s, I still have one set of those. If you're trying to find a great set, keep your eyes open in different platforms, the older red label Stoughton versions still pop up and reasonable prices. Cheers
I am super farb right now man but I'm just getting into the hobby... And there are no units for U.S. WWII within 8hours driving time. Got me some original o.d7 leggings, and cartridge belt, type 2 service boots, original m1910 haversack dated 1918 nearly mint, original m1910 canteen, cup, and cover aluminum cap also 1918 wool trousers wrong ones i ordered what i thought were original M1937 butt turns out theyre brown m1952 one button fly one zippered fly, a shitty M1941 field jacket by mil-tech nothing is symmetrical on it and a Korean war steel pot, and a mostly correct Garand... Reciever is a 1953 production the rest of the rifle is 1941-44 Springfield and Winchester parts
Fun fact lucky strike filters are about half the price of non filters im a smoker and my brand is luckies, was Camel then oneday we started getting lucky filters for 5.00 a pack vs 9.99 for non filters or camel filters 7.89 a pack vs 10.99 camel non filters
