I’m not entirely sure, the listing said it ‘Supports 1mb and 4mb’ and I think there are 4 little RAM chips on the board but can’t be sure. I’ve had to pack it away due to space requirements at the moment otherwise I’d test it. Maybe it depends on the version of the board and/or the firmware? Hmmmm…

There is an Option you can Play 1 and 4 MB direct from Console, didnt need the Cartridges. Maybe the Saroo, uses the Software option

I know right?! Well, that’s according to a website I stumbled across where people enter the cabs and locations into a database (including their condition) so there might be the odd outlier that hasn’t been added. The two in Heart of Gaming Croydon came from the Trocadero in London (guessing from Segaworld) :)

Thank you so much! I basically made a video that I needed when I wanted to know how. Yeah the LEDs I found so distracting, I can remove the paint if I needed to, or put a pin prick in the paint to allow some light through but it’s cool as it is :) thanks again!

Haha I already felt I might be insulting the viewers intelligence by showing how to move files. I should have shown how to eject the SD card though as that thing pings out and hits the ceiling if you aren’t careful haha

Thank you! I got it from AliExpress, from a seller called Gamophile Store, I can’t link the exact item I bought as it is no longer available but they seem to be selling others, oddly enough they are different prices and I can’t tell why at a brief glance. I paid £35.29 for mine.

@@ScottMadeAThing I received a Saroo as a xmas gift after selling my Mode-equipped pal model 2 Saturn recently and I decided to set it up today. I've set up a JP Model 1 machine with the Saroo this afternoon. Class.

Niiiice! One thing to be mindful of is that if the battery has degraded over time then it’ll still be a rubbish battery. I haven’t googled it for a while but man, why are these specific batteries non existent? You can get slightly larger or smaller ones but going smaller you lose a lot of mAh for the size. And as Steve found out, the polarity is reversed on the connector… such a shame that the batteries are so hard to come by, as your average tinkerer could easily replace a battery for someone, but it’s a little more advanced having to swap out the BMS from a donor battery. I still have the donor battery without a BMS and I’m too scared to use it haha. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video :)

@ No problem. I attached a usb c charger to the old Battery, and fully charged it. I put it back into the the Evercade EXP, and it did hold charge, and battery symbol was showing full charge. I know now it is the BCM Board. I did email Evercade, but as we all know… they don’t sell parts or even the Batteries anywhere. Gonna stick with your and Steve’s plan. Thank you. 👍👍

Haha! Even though I know nothing about out rally driving, after I finally worked out that he was saying ‘maybe’ and not ‘baby’ (neither made sense), I was thinking surely they would know the track enough to be able to confirm if it’s easy or medium! 😂

Maybe, I’m guessing they have better natural options at the moment! Yeah pretty sure common pips. Gonna start work on some other bat boxes, a different type and easier to make. Will hopefully have them done for Spring!

I don’t remember actually playing SR2, I think I just got disappointed when it loaded up and wasn’t the original I thought it was haha.

I know some people are quite ‘traditional’ and want to suffer the faff of having original expensive CDs, which was almost what the video was aimed at, I did a video on the SAROO and the Phantom mod but I ran out of time to finish the Phantom one, plus it’s a bit boring haha

@@ScottMadeAThing I have about 40 Saturn games, on physical media. I've had no less than 6 games die of actual disc rot/ delamination. Which is kind of crazy. Same fate as a few of my PS and Dreamcast games. I've pretty much gotten to the point where actual discs aren't that important to me anymore.

I have the very early Japan Model 1 "B2" maybe the first or second Revision, will i have Problems with the Saroo?

It was a bit janky, and definitely my fault for going with a clear case! I mean the LEDs are there for a reason but way too bright. If I had more time I could have maybe replaced the resistors with higher values but knowing my luck that’d break everything haha.

I think all the saroo carts are transparent, or the ones I’ve seen out there

Could make your Saturn look even worse by going with one those clear top motherboard hacks which deletes the disk drive altogether & uses a cheap psu too , their not even cheap

⁠@@ribenasquashhaha I’m genuinely interested in which joke I made is so bad that you think it was AI generated 😂 I must confess I used AI on one part of my video and that was to create the poo emoji to put on the Dreamcast CD. Even then I edited it afterwards as it was awful 😂 But to be told your jokes are so bad they must be written by AI… ouch haha.

I’m putting tape over my webcam now. Haha I literally got out the old Dreamcast (just to find the Sega Rally 2 CD) and remembered the last time I tried to play it, it wasn’t working. The list of things to fix for the channel just keeps on growing 😂

I play Sega Rally Championship with my young son on a regular basis. Arcade version Sega Model 2 emulator on PC. Best racer ever.

Two player is definitely the best. Although my dad used to win all the time, claiming that you could go faster using manual, I tried manual a few times in the arcade and either he was just better than his teenage son or I just suck at manual in games haha

@@ScottMadeAThing Probably still a lot better than the Colecovision Turbo expansions steering wheel I had :) Yeah, still remember it, saw an advert in the newspaper for a Japanese Saturn all boxed and mint condition so I drove to the other side of London and picked it up the next day after reading CVG magazines. I went to the local import gaming store and got those 3 games CVG magazine said you had to buy a Saturn just to play and they were right, VF2 and Rally were better than Tekken 2 and Ridge Racer Revolution on my PS1. Rally handles like a dream, VF2 for me played like the best beat 'em up ever and Virtua Cop made you feel like Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice with those large black plastic Lightguns. Still have that Saturn and the Japanese imports of VF2 and Rally. There is also a really cheeky knock off of Sega Rally on the PS1 called African Rally I think, you should check it out for a laugh.

@@ScottMadeAThing haha very cheeky rip-off, surprised it was allowed. There is also a Daytona USA style game on PS1 called Burning Road I think, one of the tracks is definitely from the arcade and the handling is the same weird rear wheel steering of Daytona USA.

I did actually do that briefly when I was trying to extract the textures for re-doing the HD texture pack, I’ll definitely come back to it, can’t believe it was Japan only, the west would have loved it!
