Hi, I'm Dean and I am just another typical guy that likes motor bikes and other fun STUFF. I like to share things with others, and then we can all learn and have fun together. Please subscribe and follow me on my you tube adventure. LETS DO SOME STUFF!
Ride with me into east London. heading to the bike shed.
Join me as I take a ride into East london, firstly on the M25 motor way that circles greater London, and then in towards the Bike shed bikeshedmoto.co.uk/
I hope that there will be of some interest to this type of content, although I doubt it. None the less, I find it interesting to see what other countries roads and cities are like to ride on and in, so I hope that there will be some value in watching this for some.
I rode my Ktm 890 smt from the Netherlands where I live and decided to meet up with a really great friend of mine that due to us being so busy, hadn't seen each other for around 4 years. After waiting for the bike shed to open, we had a great brunch and some coffees, and had a good old mooch about the bikes on display and the little clothing shop inside.
London is a massive city and can be dangerous to ride a motorbike in. You need to stay sharp at all times, and make sure you lock up your bike, and also keep a good eye out for all the rules and road signs.

This Eduard trailer floor had collapsed after being loaded with a pallet of garden slabs. After 3 or 4 years of near daily use, the wooden bed had finally given up. I just love these little Beeline moto devices. They are super simple to use, and the App just works so well. This new Beeline Moto 2 is a great step forward for the brand. Is it perfect? No, not really. I have noticed a few issues, and as I get to use the device more, I will be able to give more information on just how good it is. Thanks for your Review. Just today I was riding from south Germany to West Switzerland and with arround 5-12°C, I felt cold after three hours Ride. Aditional it started to rain, what made it worse. That was the Moment I was thinking about som heated Vest, or Jacket, as i got cold on the Shoulders and Chest. Your coment an movie was very helpful for a decision to get some. THX
@@reinerkohler9656 well, I can definitely recommend this brand. I think if I was doing long rides in the winter months, I would invest in the heated trousers as well... boots and gloves are very good these days, but once you are cold, there ain't no way to warm back up when you are on a bike....

pro tip for the dead man lever you can use a zip tie or a clamp so you don't have to hold it
I am not so sure you can call that a Pro tip.... The dead mans handle is a very useful and important safety feature on many machines. I know a guy that put his hand down the shoot of a collector mower to clear out the grass, and he had tied up the DMH, well, we now call him Borris the blade, as he lost 1 and a half fingers that day. So, thanks for this, but I wont be doing that on any of my kit. I have been professionally maintaining gardens for more than 20 years now, and I would never do that.

Do you need rear fender while driving in rain?
@@Cdmpf no, I would say so. It is more messy at the front wheel tbh.
@@dean-does-stuff-81 Can u describe / explain "messy front wheel"? I am gonna ride it everyday so i dont want to wear raincoat just for passing from wet roads.
@@Cdmpf well, the bike kicks up the road crap all over it's self. Just like any motor bike does I suppose. But the smt seems to get covered in all the crap that sprays off the tires. Up the back under the seat (so that's fine) and the front gets covered in crap due to the lack of a proper front mud guard. (KTM do sell one from the power parts list)

Hey Dean! Love the vid. Heading over here next month, can’t wait. Seen a lot of reviewers mentioning all drinks in paper cups, please put us out of our misery - are all poolside drinks served in little paper party cups?
@@eleanorbedding8183 if you are sitting at any bar, the drinks are all served in glasses. To be honest, I never gave it a thought about the paper/ plastic cups when we were at the beach. Just made sense, because you don't want glass on the beach. Hope you have a great time, make sure you check out the new pool bar.
You say the bike is decatted? Why did you choose for that and not a slip on ?
@@vdrwheely great question. Simply, if you want more power, you want free air flow in and out of the engine. The cat does way more to restrict the exhaust flow than the end can. Plus, police always look for bikes with modified exhausts, as it is an easy reason to pull a bike over. It is much easier to spot an after market end can, than a decat. With the k and n air filter, you get better induction, and with the de cat, you get better exhaust flow.... plus, the standard end can isn't that heavy over an after market can.
Just wondering Dean, do you ever ride to Belgium, France etc? Such a pain being in UK with bloody channel in the way
Hi Tony, the answer is yes. Some times I just ride to Belgium for some lunch. I went to the Vosges this year ( as per my videos) and I was planning Germany, but I may just go to the UK instead. I will probably go to germany still, perhaps in about 4 weeks time. if there is still dry weather.

Hi Dean, just got round to adjusting mine thanks to your video. Wasnt easy to find it, but now I have, it will be simple in future
@@tonyhewitt5425 well, it is definitely a little fiddly for sure. Other wise it wouldn't have been perplexing so many of us. I am sure you will get the correct set up soon enough.
Great summary, thanks. I test rode one a couple of months ago and really liked it. The engine is a real peach and power is sufficient. I have a Multistrada V4S today and I never felt that the SMT was lacking. Nice to be able to twist the throttle a bit more than a quarter from time to time.... The most impressive though was the handling and agility. The Multi is good (for its size and weight) but the SMT was in a different league, although I missed the electronically adjustable suspensien. (Have you tried fiddling with the adjusters?) I found the vibrations to be no worse than the Multi' and with cruise control one can always get to take the hands away from the handlebars to get rid of numb&tingling hands. The seat comfort was also very good, even compared to the Multi. My only concern was the lack of wind protection with the original small screen, but I get the impression that the taller one you have fitted is working quite well? (Is it the same as on the Adventure?) . Seriously considering to trade the Multi for an SMT next spring......
Hi, firstly, thanks for watching. The large screen is from the adventure ( but has its own code ( please look at my video th-cam.com/video/ZPRn3QcllC8/w-d-xo.html the codes are in the description)) The screen require the centre plastic part to fit the SMT ( that comes with the screen) Wind protection is good for me, but taller riders may want to install one of those small add on screens to deflect more wind. ( I am short so doesn't effect me) Yes, I have played about a bit with the suspension, and I have it set quite well for solo riding now. Also make sure tire pressures are set properly, as there were totally wrong from the dealer on my bike. Please look at my SMT videos for more on what the bike is about and all the mods I have carried out. th-cam.com/play/PLyut6JZFGUHR-U8yAZ09TolrPMkXGJ_X_.html
Better off with a moped lol Love my SMT too much, its getting too many miles on it!! I would add that they are super comfy, very punchy, beautiful to look at, incredibly cool to own, light to move about and easy to manavouer at low speeds and so much fun! My negs would be the white panels dont match (personal), the battery cover scratches too easy (pad on way) and finally wheels are sod to keep clean! Keep tour content coming Dean and ride safe
Thanks Tony... It is raining again over here in Gouda today. But the weather looks great for next week. I may even head down to the black forest for a couple of days, seeing as i can ride there in 6 hours or so...
Cold start on one cylinder?
@@ehiggins7476 what do you mean? You want me to take 1 spark plug out... lol
It’s been a known issue for the 890 motor. On cold start the motor only fires on one cylinder. Have to start it a couple times until both cylinders fire. 2023 Norden 901, dealership told me they all do it KTM hasn’t found a fix yet
@@ehiggins7476 ok, well, the smt doesn't suffer from that. I have had zero issues in 10,000 k. No cold start issues. As I say. The smt doesn't share the exact same engine as the one you are talking about. There has been many updates to the 890. The 990 will be better still.
