Throwing Branches
Blessed New Calendar Palm Sunday, the time when we commemorate Christ’s triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, declaring his role as Messiah and King by calling out “Hosannah to the Son of David! Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord!”
Christ defeated the materialistic and secular expectations of power and violence, and overturned the self-aggrandizing and self-prioritizing expectations of religious people, and undermined the laziness and sinfulness of the common man. Instead, He came and offered Himself up as a sacrifice for the sins of the world, and in so doing, He purchased our salvation and eternal life!
We join with the people of Jerusalem crying out praises to Jesus, but knowing what to expect in Holy Week, as Christ institutes the Last Supper, goes to the Garden to pray “Not my will but Thine be done,” and is lifted up onto the Cross, to declare His love for the world, and make death into a pathway for new life. He embraced Kenosis, self-emptying, and we embrace it with Him this week.
We will wait with him this week, die with Him this week, and rise again with Him on Saturday night/Sunday morning, proclaiming the most powerful words ever spoken to all humankind - “Christ is Risen! Truly, He is Risen!”

Written in AD 48 to Celtic people living in the Greco-Roman world, St. Paul rebuked the Galatians because they were his first mission and had been corrupted by Judaizers, followers of St. Peter. These Judaizers desired to make gentile believers be circumcised and keep the entire ritual law of Moses. This book aligns with Acts 11 and 15 in remarkable ways, illustrating the connection between the...
A House Divided
มุมมอง 782 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this sermon for the Third Sunday of Lent, we focus on how the Scripture readings from Ephesians 5 and Luke 11 form a cohesive spiritual vision for Christian life, show us the importance of continued obedience to Christ throughout our spiritual walk, the dangers of apostasy and demonic oppression, and how our reactions, even though well-intended and full of "righteous indignation" attempt to ...

Resist the Devil
มุมมอง 862 หลายเดือนก่อน
This Sermon for the Second Sunday of Lent focuses on the Christian call to resist the Devil, cleanse ourselves of fallen lusts, passion and pride, rejecting slavery to sin, living in freedom and newness of life, and experiencing the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit. As we confess our sins, reject our past habits, work against our addictions, we become a new creation in Christ through His po...
It’s NOT a Religion: It’s a Relationship?

In this sermon for the First Sunday of Lent, Bp. Joseph preaches about 12 common misperceptions many Protestant Evangelicals have about the Ancient Christian Faith, how we understand and apply the Bible, what we believe about idolatry, the saints, prayer, our human condition, and why we believe that we are bound to obey Christ and keep His commandments, rather than letting our own culture or pe...
Preparing for Growth
มุมมอง 573 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this sermon we explore the meaning of suffering according to the Apostle Paul, how we understand the call to growth and faithfulness in the tent metaphors of the Old Testament (Jeremiah 30:18-21), how this is counterpointed by St. Paul’s vision for missions amongst the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 11:19-31), his understanding of suffering as purification and preparation, and how this is brough...
The Living Sacrifice
มุมมอง 584 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our sermon this morning at St. Alopen's Church focused on St. Paul's radical commitment to a transformative vision of Christian life that both unites us in mutual submission and love, and also diversifies as we follow the Holy Spirit in the practice of our individual spiritual gifts, strengthening the Body of Christ, the Church, for the work of the ministry. Through offering ourselves as a "Liv...

Fasting in the Western Orthodox Tradition
Much love from your separated brother from the Coptic Church. Blessed Holy Week!
Beautiful
One of my favorite Hymns ever. Truly we should rejoice.
Can you post the whole chant? Or make more of these on these style? The Latin rite is beautiful, but I don’t speak Latin 😅
❤
Amen
Jesus
Jesus is the center and theme of the Reproaches on Good Friday, the hymn is written from His perspective on the Cross, starting with the Garden of Eden and the Creation of Man, and ending in the Incarnation, Perfect Life, Sacrifice and Suffering of our Savior in the Cross. It is all about Christ, Our Lord and King, and blessed be His Name above all others from everlasting unto everlasting!
American Missionaries in Western China: Can I tell you about Jesus Christ? Western Chinese Christians: I know more than you.
🇮🇳✝️🙏
Showing my ignorance: Is this via the Ancient Church of the East or the Syriac Oriental Orthodox? Either way, watch the evangelical USA fundamentalists' heads explode at learning there were Chinese Christians before those in Georgia.
This is our Bishop’s Antiochian thesis on the history of the Orthodox Church in China, approved by the University of Balamand St. John Damascene Seminary of Orthodox Theology. It outlines the long and complicated history. chineseorthodoxy.blogspot.com/2018/03/eastern-and-oriental-orthodoxy-in.html

Just like the syro malabar church. ❤
I love how many people like you in the Anglican church are building and renewing the bridge betwen ancient anglican orthodoxy and protestant low churchs. We all have the same Jesus. By the way, what do you think of the gafcon and thegsfa? Cheers by your joyfully serving pentacostal brother.
Thank you for the blessing and encouragement, brother! We are Orthodox in the Anglican Vicariate of the Orthodox Archdiocese of America! We pray that our Anglican brothers and sisters will take a stand on true doctrine and return from their recent doctrinal compromises and apostasy! May God strengthen us and bless and help you! Blessed Lent!

We made all of these illustrations for a story we’re working on, talking about the Tang Dynasty history of Christianity. Some of them are compiled using AI, and all of them have been modified and pieced together in Enlight. We are trying to present the ancient history of Chinese Christianity that has overwhelmingly been expunged and destroyed, either by Buddhist partisans or by recent Communist narratives. It is not syncretism, and there are no Buddha’s or Buddhist symbols used, contrary to what some might think. The lotus throne was used by Early Christians in China to show Christ’s triumph over Buddhism and as the Lord of Creation. chineseorthodoxy.blogspot.com/2020/11/the-cross-and-pearl-understanding.html
