The Lord of the Sabbath

Today's sermon on the 18th Sunday After Trinity is an exposition of the two stories of our Gospel Reading in Luke 14:1-11. We talk about the origin and meaning of the Sabbath, Christ's relationship with the Old Testament Law, and His commandment to lower ourselves and allow God to exalt us. We also explore the ways in which Christ turned the Law upside-down and made it into a pathway to freedom and an abundant life.
