Preparing for Growth

In this sermon we explore the meaning of suffering according to the Apostle Paul, how we understand the call to growth and faithfulness in the tent metaphors of the Old Testament (Jeremiah 30:18-21), how this is counterpointed by St. Paul’s vision for missions amongst the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 11:19-31), his understanding of suffering as purification and preparation, and how this is brought to perfect clarity and fruition through Christ’s “Parable of the Sower” in Luke 8:4-15.
