Man, that's a ton of work. Nice job. I'm guessing 1080 pounds
The last of the sheet aluminum roof panels will be coming off soon, adding thinsulate to the sprayfoam, vapor barrier, wood underlayment with preset t-nuts, then finished with aromatic cedar. I have been taking weights along the way of the governments original buildout. I am pretty sure I will be coming in much lighter. I will have to go back and find it but the desk and cages I removed came in around 775ish if I remember correctly, each one of those aluminum panels is about 50-75lbs. Finally starting to come together and comfortable to live out of. I completely forgot about asking the viewers to guess the weight, one of my first videos and not many views!! Thanks for watching!!
Man, that's a cool van.
Thanks! When I found it I knew it was perfect for a conversion. Year and a half into the build now, one little project here one there and now its getting more comfortable. I noticed you are using the same style framing in your van. Looking forward to what you create!!
Tag your it! 🤙🤙🚐🙂 - Nice work Brother!
Thanks! A little here a little there allows me to really think about the details and next steps etc. coming along good though, I have several build videos worth of content just in my super busy part of the year and no time to edit!!
5.7 or 6.0 Vortec?
6.0
Careful work👍. Great design.
Looking good, broski. Im envious of the longer wheelbase. That extra foot or two makes a lot of difference.
Thanks! Super happy with the van so far, bunch of little minor issues popping up that I will need to address soon enough though. I'm approaching 150 t-nuts so far and still need to dismantle and rework the ceiling, driver wall 90% completed. The van is becoming more and more comfortable!
@ rock on. It looks great. You’re much better with the details than me lol I just make it fit and go, for the most part . Mine’s been in the shop all the lifters were bad. Should be running like a top soon. Ready for some winter vannin.
Wow.
What a great idea
Thanks! I'm not the first though....
How are you doing brother?
Good, just wrapping up a ton of staging work before the holidays. Getting ready to put out the next video on the build out.
Get it get it!
Yeah the size of that place was insane!
Damn that's a pile!
So unfortunate!
Wow!
I know, it's the compromise you're building has no windows.Don't tell me you're one.Of those scared people about This. stealth nonsense..
Scared? LOL Nope.... No one can be completely stealth, but some are more concealed than others. I bought the van primarily for work and when I was looking for a van it was the only one that met my specifications. 1 ton extended cargo van, I do have rear windows, don't really care either way. I prefer the dark "cave like" feel inside my van. If I want to see out I will install exterior cameras. Lets face it some people just don't like people living in vehicles in their neighborhoods, and I just prefer not to draw any extra attention to myself. Sometimes I am in a quiet residential neighborhood, other times I am parking at a high end resort. I have a lot of expensive equipment that people don't need to know I have. Computer lights bleeding through my window coverings would just draw unwanted attention, especially if I am parked up in a residential neighborhood, and sometimes I am on the computer working for 10hrs at a time. "Stealth Nonsense?" That depends on your situation and perspective. Its not nonsense to me, I am protecting my equipment by not drawing attention to my van. I imagine its for similar reasons you wear a mask, people just don't need to know what's going on inside. "Stealth" is just a search term people use to find content on "concealed" buildouts. We all have different reasons for living the way we choose to live. I watch your content because you are unique and don't give a f'k what people think. Cheers bro....chuckle on!!
@vanlifeadjustments You speak some good facts? To my friends absolutely. I like your comments though you put that absolutely.
So are you gonna be full-time or part-time? As? I am right now. Like have a base as I do.
I'm part time. I work a lot on the road. Sometimes I am on the road working for 2 days, sometimes 2 weeks, other times like this last trip on the road for a month or more. If I am working with other people then sometimes we'll rent a house for longer periods of time. Van camping while on the road working has helped me save a ton of money not having to rely on hotels and air bnb's.
@vanlifeadjustments That's also my friend. That gives you freedom because you're working on your own for yourself. And that's the way to do it to help with that 9 to 5 nonsense. You're doing your thing. Love it keep on rocking my friend and live life on your terms, which is what you are doing now.
The v😊an is coming along. My friend is coming along. Can't wait until it's finished.
Thanks, its a slow build, I'm not in a rush. Much further along now, just haven't had much time to edit my content until recently.
That was a nice truck. I want one of those.
I was more into the jeeps, but yeah very cool! I believe the company name was "Canady's Customs"
you are making really amazing video content. i just finished watching your video and I have to say the quality is outstanding, I am really impressed by your creativity and dedication your channel. I noticed that you may be facing some challenges with video views and ranking. if you want, I'd like to share some tips on how to grow your audience and achieve more success, keep up the fantastic work.
This is crazy
Its not too bad, someone has too process the insurance claims!!
Sry lil bro but no one gives a single shit about your entire life since thats seems to be what your doing
I love Buccees!
yeah that place was a mega Bucees!
You said a gig. Are you in a band or group or something my friend?
I work in the corporate staging industry, easiest way to describe the work is Rock N Roll set ups in resort ballrooms, audio, video, lighting, and scenic elements for large corporate functions. I often get to see big names perform in this smaller more intimate setting, albeit as just a worker bee....lol

We are getting a Buckys in Avondale 🎉🎉🎉
Could you make a video on how you became a traveling adjuster? I’m very interested but don’t know where/how to get started.
@@michellemack6439 I'm on the road so can't get into great detail, but you can look at "adjusterTV" on TH-cam. A bunch of how to get started on that YT channel. Also "adjuster university" on YT. I have friends in the industry so my starting out experience was a lot different. Online course work cost me around 300 and took about 80 hrs. Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions. Matt with adjustertv and Jeremy at adjuster University are the pros for getting started.
Hey good to see a video out from ya. Hope you had a great time man!!!!
Thanks Kenny!! I am in the final stage of finishing my FRP paneling on my walls. Many set backs during this portion of my build. I filmed a lot of content and am now in the process of going through it all. Getting back into my busy season, so a lot of stealth camping for work on the road in the near future!!
It’s a mystery why TH-cam pushes this channel or that. You’re a smart and thoughtful guy- you might want to put effort into Substack. You could have paying subscribers- and it pays better than TH-cam for the same effort. I prefer small channels for interaction.
My channel is more for keeping my community of friends and family in the loop of my life, getting monetized and making money from creating youtube content is a secondary benefit. This channel is just a portion of a larger plan I have in motion. Although, Substack sounds good!!
Get some film and video gigs- I have a video on how to find it. It’s perfect for nomads.
The journal thing is great. 👍 Maybe you can do some Substack articles.
Oh yeah I am always entertaining new irons to put in the fire. Right now I am on hurricane watch, in the event of a major landfall I will be on the road for a couple months doing catastrophe insurance adjusting helping people navigate their insurance policies and making sure they get what they are owed. I am not a "nomad", I have a home base. I camp in the van to save money while I am on the road working. Corporate events are starting to ramp up again for the season in the PHX metro. All ideas welcomed, last night my wife and I were just talking about other potential passive income ideas. Thank you for the input!!
@@vanlifeadjustments I also have a home base and use my van as a freelancer. I share the info about work in film because it’s a sort of hidden market. People usually get into it from knowing another person in the business. There is so much location work out there- people assume it’s only in California. I’m glad you have the insurance knowledge to help people in stressful circumstances. Hard to navigate the system.
@@LilyGazou Started a substack account @vanlifeadjustments
These 3500 vans are pretty much just 1 ton trucks. Very similar frame and everything. I've seen guys pull skid steers with them.
Yep, I did this video over a year ago and since I have pulled all kinds of big shit, skids, backhoes, dump trailers etc...
The amount of drama just to hook a hitch. Maybe you arnt cut out for this.
lol...right the amount of time you spent watching and then commenting.....lol JK
Filled out your vehicle. My vehicle It's not just a camper van its also a bug out vehicle as well..
Thx for checking out my channel!! Yeah the first and primary function of my van is the office space. I'm a catastrophe insurance adjuster when the big shit happens like hurricanes etc. When I'm not doing that, I work in the rock n roll industry as a stage set carpenter....crazy scenic sets! I'm building my van for super stealth city camping. I'm really looking forward to testing the parking laws as my vehicle is registered as "commercial" so wondering how the laws apply to someone working in their van and getting the infamous "knock" in the middle of the night. Would they do it to a fiber optics cable truck sitting on the side of the road working putting fiber together? We'll see!!
@vanlifeadjustments In fact, I'm putting up a video today. Me making my bed. I took out my original electric bed from my Van and made my own. You're better off morespace.
Drill baby drill! Coming along nicely, and well thought out ….
The only drawback with these vans is the transmission. I’ve had mine rebuilt twice.
What transmission is in them? 4l80 or 6l90? I currently have an 08 gmc Sierra with a 4l60 and it struggles with my travel trailer. The trailer is around 5k lbs. looking at an 04 Chevy express 2500 with the 6.0
That looks like a nice set up!!
Yeah I'm impressed by this company from Quebec. A little pricey, but worth every penny!
It’s coming along nicely! I got a bunch of electrical shit to chase on my 7.3 liter cargo van in temp living out of …..
I noticed you were van camping close to home up in the white mts. We thought about going up to Jack fest last weekend, just didn't align with everything else. Headed up to Whitehorse lake and doing some van camping near Williams this weekend.
THX, Its coming along slooowlyyy. But getting done the way I envisioned it.
@@vanlifeadjustments yeah I’ve picked up a close to “normal” work schedule YUCK on the weekdays and putting some money and time back into my hauling business to relaunch full bore next season … So if I’m out of town, van camping is always the preference choice I missed the jack fest my friend Alma reminded me but I’m all I’ve the place lately
@@vanlifeadjustments slow is just fine …
@@Adventure_Ready_Life Yep we know Alma as well, we are good friends with the Hancock's and the AZ libertarian ecosystem.
Also, I’m not sure you would want 12/3 wire. I would think that you would want 12/2.
I’ve been living full-time in my van since 2021. Don’t listen to the naysayers. I think Romax is perfectly fine. Provided you were using the Romax with accessories that were designed to take Romax, which would include household style outlets, and a household style main lug. You would not want to use Romax with your DC side power. It really depends on how big your electrical build is going to be.. Ours is definitely on the large side and so we have a fully developed AC side.
Hey thx PDR! Yeah I will need to power a few ac outlets - computer audio video gear, kitchen galley for my juice machine, and if I have room enough in the build - a micro wave. I prefer propane so will not be using an induction stove. Also ran 14 gauge 3-wire multi strand on the same run. I'm in corporate staging which is basically rock n roll set ups in resort ballrooms. We get pretty OCD with cabling socapex, either con, fiber, dmx on our stage set ups. I was meticulous about making sure it was hodded together, protected from rubbing on steel/wood and secured real well. I think it'll be alright. thanks for the comment!! Working on my stainless steel kitchen galley at the moment! 👍🤙✌
You can get a couple rolls of sound deadening and fix how loud it is in there.
yep already done did it...75 sq ft of it
MAN DOWN!!! I repeat MAN DOWN! 😮
Yeah I rarely film while driving, I was filming the progress on the many bridges under construction on the 17 and caught this blow out on tape, could have taken out my windshield!!
@@vanlifeadjustments yeah I just started riding adv bikes again, and I forget how much semi truck tire shrapnel there always is out on the hwys
Is this a true story?
That I bought a 1 ton van so I would be able to tow my rv and then had all kinds of issues when I went to hook it up? yep....
Looking good Sir.... Love the tight cuts.
Finally got a little time and money simultaneously! This wall was a pain in the butt!! I could have done it many different ways. Almost ready for the frp panel install, then on to framing out the office and galley. Hurricane season almost ready to pop off, gotta get ready!!
I used an auto jack for a couple years with a weak camper battery. I just plug the 7 pin into the van. The jack will work off the van battery, if you are wired properly.
Came here to give the same advice
There's no _perhaps_ about it; that was _definitely_ overkill. ...but you _did_ do a good job of installing it. 👍I can respect that you took pride in your work. I'm curious if someone suggested this, or you just came up with it? Since you watch Greg Virgoe, you should watch what he has to say about how to sound-deaden the wheel wells; it's not Kilmat and he talks about why it's useless there. Anyway, all that Kilmat isn't necessarily going to _hurt_ anything aside of the wrists. Well, and the wallet; it's expensive and putting that much in a vehicle is definitely going to affect gas mileage. Thanks for being open to suggestion.
The sound deadening is a secondary benefit, I did it primarily for the butyl protection on the steel floor. I know there are plenty of other products I could have chosen to protect the steel. The van is from the AZ desert with no rust. Thanks for the comments!!
I do promo gig work that ia perfect for vanlife. Sry it took so long to subscribe I usually check ur comments on the app and they don’t exactly make it just a one-click thing. I searched you up
Thank you soooo much for this video ..I was wondering myself.. and to see it makes the difference..what's the specs of the can and how big of a trailor is tht
The van is a 2008 1 ton 3500 chevy express extended with a 6.0 V8, the trailer is a 26 ft Thor Wanderer Glide Light. Empty the trailer weighs 3600 lbs. The Van tows real nice...FYI I had to get commercial financing for the van because it was a 1 ton. Couldn't find any personal financing lender because of its size and towing capacity. Glad my video was helpful!
@@vanlifeadjustments thx for taking your time to give me that info

I have a 2020 Chevy Xpress 3500 work van Shorty and I put 8000 pounds in the back of that thing all the time it has no problem driving plenty of power stopping. No biggie. My power planet is the 6.0 LS. 🇺🇸💪🏼
Yep I am very happy with mine so far! what did you pay for your 2020?
