    If the armature or any part of it does not move with the drive bones, check the “Copy transforms” of the “Bone Constraint”. There must be one missing for sure. Si el "armature" o alguna parte del mismo no se mueve con los huesos de "drive" chequea el "Copy transforms" de los "Bone Constraint". Que de seguro debe faltar alguno.

    Should mention to do all the weight painting BEFORE duplicating the bones. Because having the duplicate bones makes weight painting soooo much more difficult. The bones that control movement are separate from the bones that deform with the weights, so you can't easily switch between to move joints as you weight paint. The bone you;re moving is not the same bone you're paining. The usual Blender shortcuts G-R and CNTL-Click to select bones no longer works nicely.

    I'm a little confused why you need the FK on top of the base setup, as isn't the base bone setup implicitly FK?

      @@SGTFLEXXX you still need a chain that'll be the blend chain, taking in both the fk and ik constraints. This blend chain then drives the deformation chain. Keeping everything seperated is better for organisation as well as rig functionality. Keeping it seperate like this also prevents any issues from happening further down the line if you decide to add more functionality to your rig, such as orientation switching or blending.

    If you have numbers in your bone names and don't want to do the punctuation/numbers strip from the new bone names, instead do a find/replace operation and replace ".001" with nothing.

      This is a more advanced set up. You could follow the first half of the video to create the normal bendy bone rig.

    Thank you very much very instructive and useful! I have two questions may i ask? What model do you suggest for attaching this rig to (i'm making arms and legs for a cartoon character)? A curve with hook, a curve turned to mesh or a cylinder mesh? My second question is why are the bones axes different than the world's? Thank you again👍

      Glad you liked it! A cylinder mesh would work fine for this. As for the orientation, the bones aren't oriented to the world axis so that's why they do not match. Aligning the control bones to the bones makes it easier when creating the constraints.

      @@richstubbsanimation Thanks for your answer! I started with a cylinder but it didn't work fine at first. Then i spotted a problem within the setup with a parenting lacking the "keep offset" option (wich i'm still confuse when to use or not). It works fine now that's perfect for my arms and limb! I tried to apply it to a curve but it doesn't work fine. I'll try with a non bendy setup as i have to keep the curve for animation purpose. Thanks again!

      Unfortunately bendy bones are native to blender, and will not work in any other program or game engine

    for those struggling with the IK rotation on the foot ( at 5:02 ) heres a breakdown on the instructions in the video (but more detailed) (i used blender version 4.2 btw) 1. go back to the edit mode tab, select the foot than shift select the IK control at the ankle, then parent them with offset (ctrl + p) 2. head to the pose mode tab, and add a "copy location" bone constraint to the foot/ankle bone. 3. if your foot bones are floating, drag the slider on the copy location bone constraint named "head/tail" to 1, this resets the foot bones position back to its default. 4. now test and see if the foot rotates from the ik control, if it does congratulations you did it! ..now just finish following the steps in the video! i hope that if anyone sees this it helps them cuz i was struggling for like 15 minutes figuring this out LOL

    When I select the bone and add the Damped Track that works, but when I set the target in the track to be the corresponding locator the entire rig rotates off the mesh. Any ideas?

      Aha, found it! My mistake was adding the constraint via the object constraints properties menu, where I should have been using the bone constraints properties menu just below it. That took way longer that it should have to solve =D
