CHECK OUT JEFF HORCHOFF. HE IS A SUPER EXPERT ON BEES. HE SHOWS SPLITS, AND A TON OF HOW TO DO HIVES. HE'S BEEN DOING IT FOR MANY YEARS AND DOES LECTURES AROUND THE U.S.
The temperament resembles the Buckfast ladies. I love those girls and wish we could get them in the United States.
"Gonna Shake it" Proceed to yeet the bees away. I can't stop laughing about it
You must live in a hot zone as lid doesn't make a seal by the looks as its sitting on the top bars of the frames letting all the warm air out of the hive
The plastic cover or the wooden lid that sits on the wooden outer cover that covers the hive?
Only in Australia is punching bee hives the safest way to work with animals.
🤣
Never BEEn inspected... You missed a trick there 😅
Thats tough when the dearth hits. Too many workers with nothing to do...
Love your content! thank you for having such a steady camera and showing us a crisp view of the beebees
My pleasure.

What that queen was doing was wild! I have never seen that before. Perhaps she didn't like the paint job and was hiding her head in shame! Making me wait until the end for the whayat hive - well played! Those robbers were following you around like you were driving the ice cream truck.
I always watch your videos and wonder how you go about getting access to the land? I’d like to get into bees but I worry being in suburbia I don’t have enough room.
It’s my uncles land. It can be difficult finding spots. Good luck
They look great!! I hope that they do well over the winter!!
Thanks
So, what do you do to save te colony from the attack?
Man that sucks looks like a bunch of robbers on the loose😮 is there anything you can do??
You need to close everything or you gonna put a glas infront of the hive where they are coming out
I’m curious as to why you don’t use foundation. Wouldn’t your bees be more productive with foundation?
It all stems from 2 bad years and a lack of wax to make foundation.
What is foundation? I was thinking that it was a base for the box? Sorry I don't really know much about bees. 🤓🤓
Lol I figured it out... 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Foundation is for the beekeeper, not the bees. It doesn't give them a head start and may do the opposite. It encourages them to put worker brood in the brood box instead of drone brood. That is about it.
Thanks for sharing 🤙
They look like they have some nice stores for Winter, that's a good thing.
Yes they do
Very nice content. Definitely helps me out seeing what others go through.
I use to get honey from a bee keeper was always nice and fresh and he showed me 😅were he processed the honey to
European honey bees an Invasive species we can't live without.
Will you feed them?
Probably not.
Bees optimize their hives for airflow. They will make their hives where they want at the end of the day
Didn’t see any eggs , larvae or capped brood in the 3rd box , do you think she could be a virgin Queen ? Here in Florida even in our brief cooler weather it’s usually unlikely that queens get mated that late in the season. Your thoughts … Really enjoy your videos , well done !
How are they abandoned hives
abandoned adjective 1. having been deserted or left. "an abandoned car" th-cam.com/video/z8r5fev91l8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bYyPPUc-fjV9_nUw
@@aussiebeekeeping I know the definition of the word. You’re taking care of them so how are they abandoned?
@@ruthanneluvsvacuuming6653 it’s a series on the abandoned hives.
@@aussiebeekeeping Oh so you rescue and care for abandoned hives? That’s nice
THAT WAS SO, SO INTERESTING... I EVEN STARTED LOOKING UP WHAT YOU WHERE MEANING, BROOD ECT ECT... EXCELLENT VIDEO, STAY SAFE
Nice vid!
How fantastic, just came across your channel, superb info and great just to watch, i work throughout the Carnarvon area and have honey and native bees around us throughout the warmer months. Love them. Will watch more of your videos. Thank you
What do you mean be "no wires."
Those are some really mellow bees!
Massive, lively colony and he complains like they r drunk, crippled and dying in a ruin. Cant even straighten out a comb
What do you suppose caused the odd taste?
New subscriber. Looking forward to your channel and journey. Mostly your accent! I love it. ❤️ God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ☦️ 🙏🏻 💙
That's what Black Friday used to look like 😂
Maybe you could take a frame from a more well off Hive and transplant it to one that isn’t doing well just to get the hives that might not make it just over the line. Although this might not work unless you can confirm that both the troubled hives have queens and you don’t want to put a good hive into the same position as the others by taking too much so it can be a bit of a risk or if you think one hive isn’t likely to survive you could use the resources from that one to save the other in a triage type of situation where it’s not as tragic given your at least able to save a hive rather than loosing both.

My favorite comment
What a mess! 🤩 Good job on cleaning these hives up. 💥
Sounds like the last owners just gave up on bee's,but good for you as you can got healthy hives.
100%
Oi mate why do ya take out the charged queen cell what does it do if a new queen hatches
This late in the season the new queen probably wouldn’t mate. It’s a better bet to try and get the original queen to push through the winter if she is there.
Yummy ❤
Pine nedles are the best
Not to bad frames in fair shape did not see any hive beetles.
Great video! Bringa me back to childhood my grand dad was a bee keeper up in the north of Sweden.
Truly fascinating!
Nicely filmed account. I think iI'd have transferred the bees into clean hives. Greetings from north Wales, UK.
Hope I never see at mine
Anyone that opens a hive in these conditions and weather is not a beekeeper
I feel stupid now. Especially as I sat for three hours waiting for the temperature to rise. But thanks for your overly opinionated comment nonetheless. Actually, I don’t feel so stupid any more
It would take me ages doing this... trying not to squash the bee's like he does....
If you want better honey you need happier, healthier bees. You move too fast and need to make slower movements, make less noise, and not use a loud vaccuum with them. In some of your videos i see you put the hives of comb on the ground, this can contaminate your honey and possibly spread disease. When you disorient the bees by tearing into the hive you need to be mindful of how you're going about it to get the best results :) if you get bad tasting honey it could be that it's contaminated or there's just too much moisture in the hive. You can do this by making holes on the bottom so debris can also fall through when the bees tidy up all the time. Also, making a vent at the top of the hives can prevent them from overheating and making your honey go bad.
Hello, why do you have 4 deeps?
