- Experience the serenity of the early morning hours as I embark on a heartwarming mission to rescue three abandoned beehives. Join me in this captivating video as I navigate through the tranquil darkness to collect these neglected colonies and give them a new lease on life.
As the first rays of light break through the horizon, witness the journey as I carefully transport the hives to my apiary, providing them with a safe haven and a chance to thrive once again. From the quiet countryside to the bustling activity of my apiary, follow along as I unpack the hives and welcome their inhabitants into their new home.
Through this act of compassion and stewardship, I hope to inspire others to cherish and protect these vital pollinators. Join me in this uplifting adventure and together, let's make a difference in the world of beekeeping. Great to be able to watch your bee videos again, We learn so much for our own beekeeping, Regards Anton
Good to see you making more videos. I have learnt so much from you. Thanks
My pleasure.
Great saves.👍
"That's a job for another day" being said twice in the same video is classic.
Couldn't agree with you more. A lot of times I get involved in some projects and things and I get into it and say......this shouldn't have been started today. :)
100%. These hives are going to make for great first inspections.
@aussiebeekeeping I saw a video once where it seemed much worse than this but they decided to just pry the box open before even getting st the frames. Basically disassemble the box from around the frames. Then you get to work the frames with no box in the way
@DialedN_07 I think I saw the same video. A tall wonky hive on a pallet under a tree?
I can’t wait to get into them.
Let us know what you find out about them - and how come you went on this rescue mission in the first place. That's not the normal sort of thing bee-keepers end up doing, surely?!
I will. Going to do a full inspection next week.
Beekeepers rescue abandoned colonies any time we get the chance.
Is there a way to find Beekeeper #B384 ?
Were the hives stashed during the mite 'blitz' by the DPI ? Opening abandoned hives is like digging potatoes. You aren't sure what's down there. Cheers....
No real way of finding a beekeeper by the registration.
I have put it out there with local beekeepers.
I like trap doors on them
Did you notice the sugar ants in hive two?
I did.
I treated them so they won’t be back
@@aussiebeekeeping How do you treat for sugar ants in a hive without harming the bees?

@@aussiebeekeeping Thank you!
WTH??! Who are you to go into someone's back garden and steal their hives? How long did the court give you?
I hope they don’t find me.
