I can definitely implement that into most of my shows! Most gigs I do have Talkback back mic form anywhere, Mon. FOH. Musical Director, Drummers, Backline... So useful !

great videos seeing there is not a whole lot out there, the only one thing Midas has never been good at, also you may consider less or should I say more "blue collar" communication for us who are not so quite familiar with Midas, also your video content I cant even tell what your touching on that screen from my point of view, please don't take this offense and thank you much for even taking the time to do this. This means when recording an acoustic guitar through both a DI and a Microphone it's the same problem PLUS you have to make sure that when performing, that the artist doesn't move back n forth on the mic... hmmm, good luck with that. Getting them to sit (if possible) would reduce this problem a little.

Due to the double path of the guitars the the path from the guitar input channels is getting delay compensated. My question is that will the compensation will happen if i send the inputs and the groups to a aux send for reverb,2nd-are the rest of the input channels being compensated for the guitars? Thanks

Is there a way to turn off delay compensation for monitor engineers?

Can you send an aux to an aux? Is there groups? A group to a group? Ie: snare top and bot to snare group... eventually feeds drum group... feeds band group. ?

Is the info collected “to make mixing better” only used to help make an individuals profile better for them or are parts of these data collected by Midas for future use? (Ie: Midas finds trends in all users workflow and in the future makes some auotmixer style plugin based on the info they collected from the users?) I ask because I’m sure some people don’t want to contribute to it.

JIM!! Thanks so much for the updates on the desk here. These videos are super helpful and i'm excited for the console to actually make it out into the market! If you're new here to the HD96 or Midas, Jim is THE place to buy your desk. If you've been around a while, you already know this ;) He's one of the most educated dealers in the Midas network and the post-purchase service RPM delivers is the best in the biz. If you think this is just a sales pitch for a friend...look at how much energy Jim puts into education compared to any other dealer in the biz. You won't find anyone else pouring this much time into his customers or the Midas community as a whole. Jim really cares that his customers know how to use the products they buy and can get the most out of them.

Note that early DL431 work only on XL8/Pro3-6-9, requiring a factory mod to work on Pro2, so that might apply to those boxes with this console as well.

would be better if there wasnt text scrolling across the bottom of the screen, covering the rear of the console we are trying to see?!?!

That one shot pot functionality that you "haven't seen on another desk" actually is quite common on new generation desks.

Too much repeat info in this one.

It will be a no go in a lot of venues with fans that loud.

Great Video, Jim. This is the exact explanation I was looking for. Question: is the cost to upgrade the same no matter what console you start with? IE would it be the same to upgrade an 3 to and X as a 9 to an X? Thanks.

shit SSL L500 mixers have a function called an all pass filter much more precise !!! just saying !! still like the video ..

and if you wanted to try and make it sound "double tracked' you would spin one of em all the way up to 5 or 10 or 15ms then work from there with held notes played/recorded not quick chugs still looking for that same null point
