    Hi Brent, Thanks for the detailed video on all the credit card I am confused between 2 cards ASB Visa Felx & SBS Visa Credit Card I am looking for 0 charge card and would be paying all the dues before sue date so for me which card you would suggest the best

      Hey, glad the video was helpful! It really comes down to how you use the card. ASB is good for their low interest rate, SBS for cashback. Dosh has a better cashback rate, but it's a debit card, just thought I'd make mention as they have a $50 signup offer at the moment (facebook.com/DoshNZ/photos/for-a-limited-time-only-get-50-for-signing-up-to-dosh-and-using-your-dosh-accoun/1040625471418529/?_rdr). Brent, great video. Traveling to Vietnam. My Wise app on my phone. I've downloaded local money onto my app. I don;t have a physical Wise card so can I use my Wise app to get local currency through an ATM? IS that the best way with Wise?

    • @BrentColeman
      @BrentColeman 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello! I've never tried to withdraw money with just a phone at the ATM, in Vietnam I'd say this would be a big risk. It's still a cash based economy, at least the couple times I've been there. Wise is usually best when Card/ApplePay/GooglePay are accepted (e.g. NZ, AU, US, UK), but for a country like Vietnam this would only be possible at large global hotels. Much of ASEAN has leapfrogged Visa/Mastercard to mobile wallet payments such as with Grab, so you might be able to top that up using the Wise Virtual Card. With the card, there is a maximum amount you can withdraw (NZ$350 from memory) before fees kick in - probably still better than the banks though! Hope that helps!

    Is there a way to compare multiple loans to see when it is best to switch or divide monthly payments? For example, for two loans of equal principal amt and interest rates, say, 8% and 5%, the monthly interest of the 8% will obviously be higher... until the principal is so low the 5% loan interest is larger and its more efficient to switch payments to the 5%. I have yet to find a suitable calculator for more complex situations and my limiting factor is excel/sheets knowlege. Help!

    "The truth is," the tariffs have to do with bad deals that past American governments have done with these countries. America was being ripped off while the deep swamp senators were becoming rich through back door deals. Therefore, Trump is currently bargaining with these countries who were taking advantage of Americans through tariffs.

    Tariffs encourage the capitalist to create or expand a business locally. So, the higher prices that the consumer pays are only short term. This is the theory anyway. If there are silly green rules or some other crazy regulation then the capitalist still might not want to go ahead with this. Removing bureaucracy is another good way to encourage capitalism.

Looks like easy swing trading stock, buy in between dividends and sell right before ex date. And this cycle lasted for years. . Even during 2015-16 crash, dividend ex dates marked correction tops. Unbelievable. Just see the chart with Div dates on it.

    • @BrentColeman
      @BrentColeman 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ No worries! It all comes down to personal preference really as there's no magic bullet when it comes to investing. If you're just starting out, it may be useful to look into ETFs, diversification, dollar-cost averaging and a few other investing jargon terms, as it can help guide your investing journey. Sharesies allows you to invest in 10,000+ investments (ETFs, stocks, funds) in NZ/AU/US, while Kernel offers low-cost index funds with a range of investment focusses. These are known as passive funds, as they invest in an index (a reference portfolio) and buy and sell less often as compared to actively managed funds. Milford has actively managed funds, which means they buy and sell often to try and get a better return, but that comes with higher fees usually. Hope that helps!

      It depends on how large the interest component is. Below is the usual treatment: Payment < Interest Charge = Remainder of interest would capitalise i.e. be added to the loan balance Payment > Interest Charge AND Payment < Instalment = Loan term would get pushed out as it is amortising more slowly Payment > Instalment = Loan term would be reduced as it is amortising faster.
