You are genius with using the functionality of excel. By the way, do you mind sharing a copy of this? Is it possible to include variable interest rate?
Thanks! Yes you can use the link here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1N7CarALb-ssnfcGml9aUAc1x9394o9t3buT7qrvnibc/edit?usp=sharing . Let me know if you have any issues! Variable rate contracts are difficult to model in Excel - if you had a separate column with the variable rate, you could potentially use some advanced logic to recalculate instalments every time the variable rates change. If it changes between instalments however, this is an example where it would be incredibly difficult to model.
If it's a fixed home loan, at the start of the term just key in the details with the (a) outstanding loan amount, (b) term outstanding, and (c) interest rate. If the home loan is on a variable rate, it's much more difficult to model using an amortisation schedule.
