Destined to Perform - Skyline Trail Shorts Tested & Proven
Hello, i live in Indiana, and I recently purchased the one person Fortius and got it set up for the first time, and it went well. I found packing it back up can be a little challenging, so is it ok to fold it somewhat and just stuff it back in it stuff sack? Thanks for a great product, love it.
I am 5’5 130Lb. Short and small 60L should be good right
You would need to refer to the sizing chart on the product page.
I want to order this pack, but even for vest style harness, the straps are toooooo wide for people with smaller torsos or women even with average boobage. This is common for all OV packs. They may change the pack size for torso length, but put the same wide, J-style straps on all size packs. Silly. Dysfunctional.
A great video of the dude. But not so much of the tent.
So I just received one and I can see through it. Could you explain how it provides sun protection then? Sorry if it a noob question

Missed the sign up. But I will follow along

Very interesting back, that vertical zip along the body might make it a good ultralight solution as camera bag.
Are you still making the Dominion?
The Dominion has been discontinued.
Now if you only made a Skyline 15….
Maybe someday.
Using this in march for Colorado fake spring. Amazing jacket
Perfect time to use it!
OV needs to learn how to make packs that fit women. I own a few of their jackets, my favorites and I love to try their packs, but none of them would fit me.
On the OV website, half the reviewers are complaining about the vest. A lot of chaffing, tough to dial in, lists of pockets that are too small. Apparently, people are also wanting a better belt to act more like a regular hip belt for load transfer and not just a stabilizer strap.
I’ve been wanting to try a harness style fast pack and was ready to pull the trigger on this during the 30% sale. Then I read all the reviews from unhappy customers! Yikes. Looks like I’ll wait until they make some corrections before looking at it again. I’m also interested to see how packs deliberately designed to ride higher on the chest will work for women.
Thumbs up for having the trekking poles tips down. Maybe some think that's a minor issue, but I hate, hate, hate starting the day off with dirty handles. This tent is now on my shortlist for a new trekking pole tent.
in cold weather if you wear it as a base layer, what do you wear on top of it? My current favorite cold weather activity clothing choice is Altitude sun hoodie as my base layer then the Dragonwool hoodie and the Ventus hoodie.
Looks like another product to add to the list that I want.
Hi, I really like this tent. I am also quite tall at 6ft4, and whilst on paper it should not be a big deal as the floor space is 88in, I am wondering whether the gradient of the head/foot ends may restrict the usable space inside ? Many thanks
The OV SHOULDER STRAP POCKET looks rather short in material length. Will it work to sufficiently secure a 1L Smart Water bottle?
So how does this jacket preform in humid environments? E.g. AT trail
Do these tents come with interior pockets or loops for storing gear?
I’m concerned about cutting the pack- what if there’s an issue with it and I need to return it?
1:04 La Crevasse edition 😂
So when can we expect the matching top? 🤔
This year.
It's a great jacket. Very warm and weighs next to nothing.
I went from an Apple Watch to a coros pace 3 and I’ve been very happy with it.
Mine hasn’t shifted yet, but great video to show us how to redistribute the fill if we need to, thanks👍
Any time!
I just purchased my Fortius 2P for a thru-hike of the Florida Trail. I was most concerned with weather (thunderstorms/wind), so after seeing the features of this tent, it was a must-have. It also is 1/2 the weight of my old tent. My back already thanks you and your team Tayson!
Have fun!

Why did you get rid of your Dominion 2p tent?? The trekking pole tent works for some but why you get rid of the tent that works for others?
We are working on a redesign.
I've never measured for a proper torso length for a backpack. How do you guys recommend measuring so I don't order the wrong pack?
REI has a nice guide for this.
We use inseam and height because it's actually a much simpler and more accurate way to get your real torso size using human proportions. People can measure their torso size differently, or make errors doing so. To avoid that, we can take your inseam length (which everyone should know based on the pants they wear) and height (also which everyone should already know) to calculate the correct torso. However, if you would still like to use actual torso measurements, 18" and under should take a small size torso, 18" to 21" should take Regular, and 22" and up should take Tall.
Awesome! Thanks for the help!@@outdoorvitals
@@outdoorvitalswhat are the sizes based on inseam and height?
Thank you for sharing your video. I do have a question, being that it is synthetic, how does it measure for oder control? (Which is one reason I lean towards wools for high activities.)
I ran the inaugural Fool's 409 a few months back. It was a 414.13 mile race from Niagara Falls to Crown Point, NY. My base weight was about ~20 lbs. I used the Ultimate Direction 40L fast pack. I paid dearly for poor planning as far as weight is concerned. I left a lot on the table. Next year's race will be a few miles longer. As part of my logistical planning I need to plan to carry half of this year's weight. This pack caught my eye so I'm penciling it in as a possible piece of gear to pick up as I cross the state of New York again in '24. Pack looks great, guys.
Any regrets switching to Coros (especially now that Garmin has some great black friday deals)? The Instinct 2X and Fenix 7 series with solar would deliver the battery life requirements your mentioned and connect to all the GNSS constellations.
I bought this watch about 30 days ago.....its a great outdoor watch for hiking better than a garmin because of the battery life, dual band GPS, the sapphire face and the mapping. If you want music, pay features and more integrations then a garmin or apple is a better choice....but the battery is important for multiday hiking - you should not be charging your watch in the woods. My hiking buddy has a Apple Ultra....I have been out with him 2-3 times where his watch battery died.
Great Points
Will there be other color ways in stock at OV soon?
Has anyone fast packed with a hammock? I really like the Skyline Fastpack, hard to resist buying it.
Sure why not fast pack with a hammock?
Seems a bit advertisy
Maybe you should’ve had that spotlight for the bird eye view it’s too much of a glare the kinda takes away from everything
Where are the women's skyline shorts for purchase?
This man is in the right place, you have a bright future. Thanks for the knowledge, from Kiev, UA.
I appreciate that!
What is the torso length of the "model' please?
Do you know the cost of carbon stays?
I have loved every piece of OV gear (5 pieces so far , including a mummypod I have had since 2019) I don't like the idea that I have to cut a $250 pack to use the shoulder pouch that is "designed to be used with it"
How tall is the model? Trying to figure our what size is best for me
