I did NOT expect to see this riding through the mountains!
In this adventure, I start off on an early morning ride through the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia, USA. While stopping to change out my camera batteries, I could see through the trees a massive colony of tents, and what I found were some genius hunters that would surely make any outdoor sportsman jealous!

    I think my path of ownership follows yours. I currently ride a 2022 Zero DS. It is my first bike also. I bought it a few months ago and have but 3,000 miles on it. I'm eye balling the Livewire 1. Oddly, I'm also a owner of that Torq T1 helmet too. lol

    I ended up finally purchasing a motorcycle after years of wanting one (took the MSF course, got my license, did everything the right way). I wanted an S2 Del Mar SO badly, but that price simply kept me at bay and I was far too nervous to make monthly payments. Ended up buying the Ryvid Anthem and whilst I really really like it, it is by no means a Del Mar. My goal by 2026 is to have almost enough money saved up to pull the trigger on the Del Mar (or possibly an updated model?) I've only been riding for about 2 months now on and off gaining confidence, but electric, to me, is by far the way to go. Now that I've experienced riding an electric motorcycle, that term, "magic carpet" cannot possibly be more true. You get to focus entirely on the road and your ride instead of clutching and shifting constantly. I'm not saying it's better for everyone, but for me it totally is. Absolutely love silently zipping down the road.

      You can find any Livewire bike nowadays used with super low mileage at a really great price. The S2 platform is really fun to ride, and if I could I would scoop up a Mulholland as well. I'm excited to see what the alpinista is going to be

    I just got this 2018 Zero DS with super low miles, and I'm worried about the motor noise I'm hearing. Can you give me your opinion. I posted it here. Video link isn't working, however if you are in the Zero Motorcycles owners group on Facebook, just search my name and look at my posts, I documented everything I did and listed the parts I used to fix my motor bearing issue, assuming that's what's going on with your motor

    Nice bike. 86 miles is adequate; however, I’d be interested in 300-400. When e-cycle gets there, I’d plan on making the shift. For now, e-moto’s make equal sense, depending upon use case scenarios.

    • @AdventuresonZero
      @AdventuresonZero หลายเดือนก่อน

      300-400 would be nice, however in my experience it’s not always necessary for my riding. 200-250 miles a day (whether on or offroad) is enough to wear me out. All of livewire’s bikes are capable of that with a decent charging infrastructure. Not many ICE bikes can get that range per tank anyways

    Okay HD, here's what you need to do next; for 2026 make a Livewire Del Mar S2G (the G stands for GAS version so stop it with this electronic non-selling stuff). Try to make it look as close to this electric version as possible. Make it liquid cooled, keep the engine to around 600-700-maybe even 800cc, but nothing bigger.

    Ford Motor Company's CEO, Jim Farley, recognized that ICE vehicle designers and engineers are not the folks to move forward with, so he started a new "skunk works" in California to create the next generation of Ford EV's. Mr.Farley now has come to the same realization concerning ICE dealers. My experience with Ford and Harley-Davidson/LiveWire at the dealership level demonstrated a strong disconnect with their EV products, why? Folks in both environments said the same thing in sales and service, "we have only sold ______, so I don't know much about them. You probably know more than me." Thank you for sharing, Ride Free.

    A much better buy is a 1st gen Zero SR. You can find them for under $10k - and usually in very good shape. They have about the same power, charge time, and better range.

    • @AdventuresonZero
      @AdventuresonZero หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends what you're looking for in a bike. Can find used LiveWire bikes for close to that cost in fantastic shape and low mileage

    • @bikebudha01
      @bikebudha01 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AdventuresonZero That's my point. EV motorcycles don't hold their value. You can find Zeros and Livewires for WAY less than retail. And because they don't have pistons, oil filters, spark plugs, etc. They are usually in fantastic shape. I got my 2017 Zero SR in 2019. 2 years old, 1,900 miles on it. Retail price was $19k, I paid $10k. Still riding it 5 years later. The only maintenance I've 'had' to do was get the brake fluid swapped out. I did opt to put different tires on it. Otherwise nothing else. Oh, and my city has a deal with the local power company, there are free charging stations all over town. In the 5 years of ownership, I've only paid to charge like twice...

    The "Season Ends" on the "LiveWire One Connect App." The message from the Motor Company suggested "We're investigating potential replacement products." A product that LiveWire One buyers purchased up front at the invitation of the Motor Company as a feature and benefit of owning a LiveWire One premium motorcycle on all of their on-line sites and promotions and printed material. We will see if "offered for free" is correct language moving forward. Reply

    Absolutely right @13min when you mention you get tired when the bike needs recharging. Many people just fantasize riding until their 25L tank is empty when in reality, they stop like anyone else to pee, eat or just chill/relax. That's when one can recharge the bike. Cheers !

    • @AdventuresonZero
      @AdventuresonZero หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can't imagine people push the limits of their range in one day of adventure riding that often. 200 miles is pretty much my daily limit, and all that's needed is a one hour recharge.

    It's the same thing riding a pedal bike, if you're doing 100km or 100 miles your suspension is your legs, you have to take up bumps with your legs and not your butt, and definitely not your wrists. You need to be able to hit a speed bump at 25 or 30mph while pedalling with no impact to your body
