Trust me, I hate it 😆 it’s not fun doing this constantly. But gotta see where the limitations are to plan adventures around those limitations. Find the edge, and work back a little bit
Great time watching your videos riding around the valley. Elkton is the center of my patch. Thinking about a Del Mar in the near future and have enjoyed your insight. Nice to see I'm not the only one that forgets the right gear. Cheers.
Thanks! Was thinking about going up on the skyline to see what kind of range I can get at 35mph. Need to check PlugShare, I know the Byrd center j1772 is hit or miss
I hope it’s only one of these three reasons: 1 - I have undiagnosed diabeetus. 2 - I’m close to 40 so my bladder is not working. 3 - I drink too much water. I believe it’s 3, could be 2, and hope it isn’t 1 - I have to pee way too much when wearing full winter kit 😆
Loving your vids! I have about 6000 miles on my Zero DSR/X which I have been riding around AZ, UT and MT. Really loving it. Getting between 150 and 200 miles in best case back road/off road riding. Only about 100 miles at freeway speeds though. Plenty of J-1772, Tesla or NEMA 14-50 places to charge. Just need to do a little planning with Plugshare :)
@@AdventuresonZero So best case is riding somewhat technical dirt/fire roads out here averaging about 20-30mph. (BDR type dirt roads). I also have a custom mode for dirt with reduced power and full regeneration. As speeds increase my range drops of course. You should come out west and we can do some rides together!
@@AdventuresonZero There is a lot of great desert riding out here. Also thinking of trying Baja this spring. No issues at all with the DSR/X. I have the Rapid Charger installed so sometimes that helps with charge speeds. Also changed to some Motoz Tractionator tires for better off road performance. Spent most of my life in the Northeast so the type of roads and riding you do in most of your vids is very familiar to me. It is like a different world riding out west :)
Ben, I’ve had the kickstand not fully deployed more than once on my Livewire, I am now in the habit of keeping my foot pushing forward on the kickstand as I lean the bike over, at least S2 Del Mar is a little lighter than the Livewire One to pick it back up 😊
Thanks! I use the Pan America top box now, however I used these straps to attach the stock charger and bag to the tail: greenchileadv.com/collections/straps/products/gcag-mondo-ul-kit
Ben: I’m curious to know if you had the chance to charge any of your bikes at a Tesla Super Charger yet (apparently some tog them have a CCS adapter on them now, I think they refer to it as a “Magic Dock”).
I haven't been able to try one yet, a station was just added recently near DC - so I might meander up there someday soon to try it out. This is still a pilot program with Tesla, so not every supercharger station has CCS adapters.
Unless we blow ourselves up, electric is the future, and I'm all for it as an alternative to dinosaur juice vehicles. I'm in Chesterfield. Looking at visiting the Zero dealership in NoVa to see a man about a DSR/X and FX. I want an emotorcycle road bike that's also capable of off-roading. I also wanna order a Surron Ultra Bee edirt bike for something to tinker with.
Ben, you’re really embracing this “adventure at zero” thing.

I love how you ended this one, lol.
thanks!
Love the regular content. Tides me over until riding season in MA.
Thanks!
Bummer ending XD
right?!

Roll on up. I can spare a couple buckets of electrons. Baloo on advrider. Luray has stations.
I will this spring when it warms up!
Also, the "need to pee" content is tremendously relatable :)

That bear didn’t look too good. Loved the video though. You definitely got a new subscriber
No, definitely not. I used to have a bear like that behind my house, he'd come out to the corn field and act the same way. Mange. Awesome, welcome!

Wow that’s pretty impressive mileage. What speeds are you doing to get that range?

@@omrinc2010 I’ve always wanted to ride the desert. Nice that you can get those ranges. Have you had any issues with the DSR/X?

lol, happens to the best of us! I blame it on all this cold weather gear, not as easy to look down and check!
Glad you got home. I have so many questions.
lol, fire away
Now for science you are going to have to ride with the plexiglass brackets to see how long they last.
😆 already put the aluminum ones on!
Wow. 😮

Excited to see the mods you make to your bike! What do you use to strap the charger to the back?

Can you paint the chrome clamps, or go back and swap them ?
The latter, painting chromed metal is not so good. It can lose paint with time, not a great job.
They don't even fit on the forks, so.... lol
What phone mount do you have on the tank? Magnetic? I want something similar for my livewire One.
Custom mount I designed

😆 time will tell. I would still like to test ride the DSR/X to see how it feels
